Hi,
My husband and I decided to try for our first baby over 6 months ago. I knew some ladies having trouble falling pregnant, but I was hoping I would never be one of them. About 2 and a half months ago, I started showing systoms of being pregnant, I was very late in my period, I had sore breasts, I was quite tired and felt generally unwell. I got my period 2 weeks late but it seemed different, it was much more red in colour then usual and just wasn't normal. I went to go the dr. who said it was probably an embryo that didn't implant properly, but was a sign of good fertitly. While I was there he ran some tests and found that I was still not immune to rebella (which is really annoying because I got the shot when I was in high school) so I got that vacc. and was told to wait 2 full cycles until I can start trying again. I cannot describe how annoying this was to hear, I just wanted to be pregnant already. Now the most frustrating part is that I haven't had a period since, and it was 2 months ago. I am definately not pregnant (I really wish I was, but have done a few tests now - definately not pregnant) but can't understand why all of a sudden my period has just disappeared. And in terms of the rebella vacc, I have waited the time it would usually take to have 2 full cycles, but technically haven't even had one.
So I just don't know what to think - I feel frustrated because we are so keen on having a child and everyone around me seems to be "accidentally" falling pregnant when I can't even try to. My period doesn't even want to turn up to the party.
Does anyone have any explanation as to why I am not having a period? Does this mean I am probably not ovulating?
I really just want to be pregnant.
Kimnastics is right about it sometimes taking a while for our cycle to get back into the swing of things after a m/c. It is your body's way of giving itself a break. If it hasn't come back soon you could speak to your GP about it and get some blood tests done to see what is going on.
With relation to the rubella injection - I know that it is a bit of a pain to have to wait but as someone who has witnessed a severely rubella affected bub waiting a couple of months is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
