Worried - Cycle longer the 32 days

    Hi everyone

I was just reading that if a women cycle is longer then 32 days she might not be ovulating. Is this true? My last cycle was 32 days long and my current cycle is 35 day so far. I'm bit worried. Should i go to the doctor and find out if I am ovulating? Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Bree

Hi Bree. It's possible that for some people they're not ovulating. But I think more likely that you are. My last 2 cycles have been 37 days and I ovulated. The best way to check is to start charting and taking your temp each morning. Check out the fertility friend website it will tell you everything you need to know

HI! It is possible that women don't ovulate on a longer cycle, but it's possible they may not ovulate with a shorter one too. Usually there is an underlying problem if a women does't ovulate regardless of cycle length. My cycles have always been an av of 34-36 days and I have never had problems with ovulation and conception. The important thing to remember with a longer cycle is that your lutal phase will still only be 14 days (the length of time between O and getting AF, unless there you have a longer LP length). Which makes it hard to predict O if you're not used to having a longer cycle. In fact very few women have a 28day cycle to begin with, so its not abnormal to have a longer one kwim?

    Hey Bree!

SaraJane and Sherie have posted some good responses there..

I just wanted to say, that I too have long cycles and irregular at times and have had no probs conceiving..With DD I used OPKs and got pregnant right away (With her I also didn't ovulate until CD 28 which I thought was interesting, so I guess that cycle if we hadn't conceived would probably have been over 40 days)..

    Best of luck!!

    Thankyou

Thankyou for that. I have been taking my BBT every morning before I get out of bed and my BBT does come down slightly and then rises until I my next cycle starts does this mean I could be ovulating? I have been recording cervical discharge but I never seem to notice the raw egg white discharge when I am meant to be ovulating. Does that mean I might not be ovulating?

    Thanks Bree

I think the temp dip and then rise during the cycle is a great sign that you may be ovulating. Some woman don't notice EWCM, or even the watery CM, and they are ovulating, some woman just don't have those signs.
