Missed period but BFN then BFP?

So, has anyone experienced having a missed period, testing only to get a BFN, but then get a BFP later on?

I'm on day 35 of my cycle (which is usually 31 days) and I only ever miss if I'm super super stressed out. Which I'm not. No period yet, but terrible symptoms - cramps, increased CM, pain around my hips, deathly tired, gross skin, sore boobs, the whole nine yards.

I tested twice, today and yesterday (though admittedly not with AM pee) using a First Response and both times it was resoundingly negative.

Obviously, now I've posted this my period will appear!

But, seriously, is it possible I could be pregnant but it's not showing up yet?

Yes, possible that you ovulated late and that is why the test is neg. You really need to use FMU (first morning urine) for the best result and spend the extra dollars on the one that says pregnant/not pregnant - saves for a lot of guesses if there is a line of not. I ovulated late when pg with DD & i think it took until CD 35 with FMU urine for a very feint positive. I'd probably test in two days in the AM. GL

With my DD I didn't get a BFP until I was 6weeks....thought I was going crazy lol.

Are you sure you ovulated? Those symptoms sound like o pains.

Yep, I missed a period and even a blood test came back negative and then became pregnant about two weeks after said missed period. It makes dating my pregnancy challenging as we don't know when I actually o'd.

Maybe get blood tests a few days apart to see if your hcg levels are rising?

This happened to me with DS1. AF didn't come so I went to the Dr for a blood test. Called up for my results which were negative. The next week a HPT came back positive so the next week I had another blood test done which came back positive. Not sure what happened with the first test but I was about 8 weeks when they 2nd blood test came back positive.

Yep, my sister didn't get a BFP til AF was like a week late. She didn't know what was up!

My last two pregnancies i got my BFP before AF was due but this one i tested the morning of when AF was meant to turn up and got a BFN then the next morning i got a very definite BFP.
