    Need your help please!

    Hi Ladies,

We are trying TTC #3 and using the Shettles method for a girl.

I need your help to make sure I have my dates for O correct.

    I normally O around CD 19

When I got my period this cycle it started as 2 days of spotting - not enough to seem like a proper flow but definitely a dark brown spotting. Sorry TMI
Then a day of nothing much then another day of spotting then 1 day of heavy bright red flow then 3 days of light flow.

So do I go by the day of heavy red flow as CD1 or do I go by the first day of spotting as CD1?

If I go by the heavy red flow as CD1 then I am currently on CD14 or if I go by the first day of spotting then I should be on CD18.

What's your thoughts please as I don't want to DTD too close to O for our girl hopes.

    Thanks everyone!!!

From what I've read you count cd 1 as first day of heavy red flow.

Good luck getting your girl I got mine but wasn't fully committed to the method but I can share our dates as I was tracking O with opks as i wanted to make sure we were dtd at the right times for optimum chances of a girl. just keep in mind my cycles were all over the joint which is why I don't o till later in my cycle.

    Cd15- neg opks. DTD.
Cd16 - faint pos on opks. DTD.
    Cd17- darker positive opk
Cd18 - def positive opk. DTD.

Did not DTD again until cd23. So as soon as I got that positive, we DTD and then made sure we didn't DTD again for a few days, hoping the girl sperm would have a chance lol worked, I'm 25 weeks preg with a feisty little girl

    Good luck!

    Thanks for your replies.

To clarify and confirm spotting. When I had spotting it was definitely noticeable but not heavy enough to need more than a panty liner. It was also dark brownish not red.
