I came off the pill mid Dec 08 and still have not had one period (mid April). The doc says I need to wait until 6 months of no period before he will do anything.
I have not heard of such a long time without periods before. Has this happened to anyone else?
Does anyone have suggestions? Should I consider natropath and does anyone know a good Melbourne one?
Not sure on how long to wait, but I know it can be longer than usual.
For naturopaths here is the BB Centre in Canterbury, and also a place called fertile ground in east melbourne that have naturopaths and other alterative therpies
maybe try

Acupuncture and herbs work wonders me got pregnant with after seeing Suzie but unfortunately resulted in an ectopic
Just so you know, you're not alone! I came off the pill in June 2006 and haven't had a period since. Yep, nearly THREE years. In my case it seems that my body needs a major kickstart to get going again - after a very long journey, I am *hopefully* starting my first cycle of IVF next week.
I suggest you find a Dr who will take you seriously and start investigating if your period doesn't return in the next couple of months.
Naturopathy and acupuncture and chinese herbs can all help - for me, they didn't but I am the exception!
I had the same issue when I went off the pill - my first cycle was 132 days long! After that my cycle was a little irregular as well which was such a pain. Some drs are quite proactive and can order tests to see if you are ovulating and it is possible to prescribe medication that will make you ovulate. However, other drs say just to wait and give your body time to get back into a normal cycle again which is a pain when you are TTC! Good luck with the naturopath, I hope you have some luck soon!
When I came off the pill to ttc it took me 3 months to get my first period and than a further 6 months before i fell pregnant. The pill can really mess with your hormones and body. I would probably ask if they can at least check your hormone levels with a blood test.
Hun, if it was me (and it isn't) I would get a second opinion. The hormone in the BCP leaves your body in about 7 days. My AF returned perfectly after stopping the BCP after 15 years, and I "o"d the second month and got BFP the third. Not trying to brag, just a point that it doesn't sound "normal" to me and I would get it checked out - after all, you might need a kick start as Mrs P suggests (and you can't keep doing tests to see if you are UTD - they are expensive! AND frustrating seeing BFNs). Sometimes the BCP can mask underlying problems, such as PCOS etc that you don't discover until you are TTC.
