NOT SURE WHAT TO THINK - HAVE BEEN ON BC FOR PAST 10 YRS BUT BEEN OFF SINCE NOVEMBER 2006 AND SINCE BEEN TTC. PRETTY MUCH FOR 10 YRS AF WAS A SPOT ON 28DAY CYCLE AND LASTED FOR 3 DAYS MAYBE 4 MAX EACH TIME BUT VERY MINIMAL. NO PAINS, NO MOODS ETC.. SINCE COMING OFF BC AF HAS BEEN VERY ERRATIC -
1ST CYCLE 28 DAYS, 2ND CYCLE 39 DAYS, 3RD CYCLE 52 DAYS, 4TH CYCLE 33 DAYS, 5TH CYCLE 33 DAYS, 6TH CYCLE 32 DAYS, 7TH CYCLE 41 DAYS AND THIS CYCLE IS UPTO 32 DAYS. HAVE EXPECTED AF TO BE ERRATIC BUT NOT SURE IF ITS NORMAL FOR IT TO KIND OF SETTLE TO THE LOW 30S THEN JUMP BACK UP AGAIN TO 40S. I REALISE IT WILL TAKE SOMETIME FOR BCP TO GET OUT OF SYSTEM AND LET MY BODY NATURALLY TAKE ITS OWN RHYTHM BUT JUST SEEING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS??? HAVE DONE MANY HPT ALL ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
Firstly, welcome to BellyBelly! I'm guessing you're new to the computer forum world: as a heads-up, typing all in caps is considered shouting and not too easy to read (I think everyone makes this "mistake" a few times!).
Secondly, I was on the Pill for 8 years, pretty much every 4 weeks I'd have a 5-day cycle (once I had a 30-day cycle, I was so excited!). When I came off, my cycles were five weeks, four six-week cycles, an 8-week cycle and then I fell pregnant on a ?5-week cycle. Your body does not go back to normal quickly!
Looks to me like you have a 5-week cycle with the odd 6-7 week cycle thrown in. The annoying thing is that you'll wait until about 8w to find out you're pregnant and you have been for ages!
For help, Vitex is an homeopathic remedy (Agnus Casteii) which can help regulate your cycles. A lot of girls here take it and say it works - I tried it, but I was 6w pg at the time (thought it was another long cycle - oops!). Otherwise, just waiting it out.
Do you do temping or mucus tracking? (Temping is where you take your temperature every morning to pinpoint ovulation, mucus tracking is seeing what comes out down below to see when you're fertile.) I found mucus tracking would help as once I'd had fertile EWCM (raw egg white mucus - for ages I thought it was cooked egg white mucus!) I knew my period would be 2 weeks away. With irregular cycles that does give you some peace of mind.
i have extremely erratic cycles too, it is very stressful never knowing when to expect AF or when to do a pg test. I don't have any advice or anyhting just wanted to let you know that there are many of us here with lass than perfect cycles.
