OPK results- very strange, help I'm confused!

So I've been doing OPK's for the last week, nothing nothing nothing and then four days ago I got a super faint line, followed by a slightly darker one each day... I have also had tingly slighty crampy things happening over my left ovary site since 2 days ago.

I'm confused because as far as I had been told, they should turn positive when you are going to O, so why am I getting gradually darker ones when the hormone is only present a short time???

Any help would be great as I'm a bit confused...

    TIA

Ella, when are are you testing? And what brand are you using?
I used lullaby conceptions, tested at 5pm each afternoon. LC recommended testing after 10am, 2pm being ideal. Consistency is the key.
    All the best

    Didi,
I still long for the OV watch. Can't justify the cost if it.
You're one lucky chickie to have had one

ive got an ov watch - used one to conceive dd & just got another one last cycle.
I got it from ebay US site and waited for a reasonably priced deal with numerous sensors. After reselling i think it would have cost me about $40 ausd.

Ella, several points (in my opinion )
    1. Consistency (as mentioned) is the key.
    2. Dehydrate yourself, no wee wees or drinkies for 2 hours hence
    3. Test at 2pm if you can
    4. Some women get a fade-in pattern (as mentioned). This is good! Means you have some early warning.
    5. Most people have LH in their systems all the time, so that is why the line needs to be DARK
    6. Some women NEVER get a dark line, maybe they are too dilute, maybe their bodies surge at a different time, or maybe that is just pot luck.
    7. Temping might be more helpful if OPKs aren't working. At least it will tell you when you O, and that you O'd, but is not helpful to tell you when to expect O (and therefore BD like a mad thing). In this case, you will know more about your body in preparation for next cycle.

Oh, and I use internet cheapies which I find just perfect (cheap enough that you can use 2 a day for a while if you need )

    Good luck sweetie!

Yup the OVWATCH has worked as well now for number 3 and digital at least there is no guess work at all, and I belive its money well spent for peace of mind.

Thanks Dragonbub, I've been doing them around 2-4pm. I haven't been drinking excessively... but I have been super thirsty the last few days so I may still be drinking too much. We've been BD'ing almost everyday so if there is a little eggie that has escaped already hopefully we will have caught it lol, just annoying not knowing if this is the TWW or if I've even O'd yet. I might try temping next month and OPK's just to see which works better for me.

    Thanks for the advice everyone!
