    Ovultion confusion on BBT chart

    Hi All,

I hope someone out there can help shed some light.

I have been TTC #2 for 5 months now and BBT charting for 4 months. With this cycle and a couple of others, I have noticed that there is no clearly defined thermal shift to depict ovulation. I have had a couple of slow rises in the first half of my cycle and I am finding this so confusing and annoying and its really beginning to bug me cause I dont know when I have actually ovulated, if at all, and the last three cycles I have been getting negative OPK tests. On top of that, I dont get any EWCM, just creamy so cant rely on that for signs, but I do get sore sore boobs and nipples the days around and after ovulation (so about the TMI), but didn't feel even that last cycle. With this cycle month I have had sensitive nipples/sore boobs starting from 4 April till 10 April, but my boobs are still a little swollen and I had a little bit of cramps on 3 April, but on the 6 April I had cramps for most of the afternoon and they felt like light period cramps.

Here is a link to my chart, so you know what I am going on about (hope it works).

I am doing acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine to help balance things out and the Acupuncturists says I ovulated on Day 13 (4 April), yet Fertilityfriend.com suggests I ovulated on Day 16 (7 April).

Can you please look at my chart and tell me what do you all think of when ovulation could have happened? I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Im concerned and probably know, that I have wasted yet another month.

P.S. I should clarify a couple of things with teh chart. The EWCM I have noted is actually sperm friendly lubricant (Pre-seed) and the temp jumps you see on Days 5, 8 & 9 is because I was unwell and not sleeping properly.

    Thanks!

from what i can gather it looks like an ovulation around day 14...there are of course many variables, but from my obsession with FF when i was TTC i would go with 14...HTH xx

The EWCM marked on the chart will confuse FF and that's probably why it has put your O day where it has. Can you create a custom entry for pre-seed and mark it that way instead? I can't remember if you need a VIP membership to create custom entries or not?

Do you normally get +opk? I have been getting slow rises since early last year and find I have to rely on the opk to pinpoint O.

I'm sorry to say I really don't know when or if you may have O'd. I hope it becomes clearer soon.

    Thanks for the replies.

I cant create custom entry for pre-seed. Dont have the VIP membership.

Out of the 5 months, I have only seen +OPK's in the first two months and then -opk's thereafter. So, you can imagine how hard it has become for me to know when I have ovulated. I got a day 21 progesterone test yesterday, so I'll see what comes out of that. But I have made an appointment in a couple of weeks time with the Dr (incase AF comes along) to discuss frustration and next step to help better this situation or start doing further tests.

Are you doing opks just once per day or more often? Maybe you've got a short surge and you're missing it? I tend to do them twice per day (afternoon and evening) when I'm close to when I expect to O.

Bella re the preseed you can add it as a custom med in the standard (i.e. not VIP) version. Go into the day you used preseed, then click on the Meds drop down menu and select add/edit. Then you'll be taken to a new page with a popular options drop down- scroll down until you see preseed and click on add. Then it will be in the Meds list for every day so just tick that box when you use it and remove the ewcm from the cm list if you want to see how FF adjusts it's analysis.

Thanks Ladylove. I didn't know if you needed VIP or not (and I have VIP, so couldn't check).
