liz , my doc has told me to take panadeine for migraines during the day and he prescribed panadeine forte for nightime ( i think thats the codeine one)

he also said if i feel one coming on take the meds earlier on rather than seeing if i can get thru without them, the one time i did try to not take anything i ended up with a four day migraine and got admitted to hospy due to high BP from the pain.

having said that i have never actually needed to use the forte so far, which i am pleased about. i d really rather not take anything while PG so i have used the panadeine just on a few occasions to fend of the headache before it gets too bad...

    HTH.

thanks girls, i am trying to get myself into the habit of not taking anything but sometimes it just gets too bad not to take it. i did find another link on here last night after i posted this thread. the midwife on there said panadol and panadine is ok and has no side affect to baby.
    thanks liz

Panadol, Panadeine, and panadeine Forte are all OK to take during pregnancy.
Panadeine and panadeine Forte both contain codeine. Just be aware that Codeine can cause constipation. Also you should not take more than 4gms of Panadol in any 24 hours. Panadol, Panadeine, and panadeine each contain 500mg of Panadol, therefor you should have no more than 8 tablets of any of these drugs in a 24 hour period.
