The Pill and Anti Biotics

I wasn't sure where to put this..

My Partner has been on anti biotics for about 2-3 days and will be off them in another day or so. We have heard that being on antibiotics reduces the effectiveness of the pill, but how long after you stop using antibiotics must you use another form of contraception (condoms) ? IE how long until the pill is effective again, a week? or longer.

My understanding is that it would be 7 days of taking the pill before its effective again.

Pretty sure it's 7 days, no different to the time period you should use alternate contraception if you miss a pill or have been sick.

i used to wait until the start of a new cycle, just to be safe
