    Please Help! Phantom Pregnancy???

    Hello guys,

I think I'm making myself get symptoms in the hopes of getting pregnant. I have had swollen sore bbs, light nausea on and off (it'll suddenly hit me, I'll need to sit down and then it passes. This is nothing like what my Mom had, although I know every woman is different!), bloating and when I was standing in front of the mirror I noticed all of a sudden that my aereolas appeared much darker and I saw a lot more blue veins in my bbs than I've ever noticed before. My fiance and I have been a little bit stressed in the last few weeks as he's just resigned from his job, so we have only bd-ed once (in the morning), but the following day, I noticed EWCM. It was EXACTLY the 14 day mark so the day I probably should have O'd. However, it could have been seminal discharge? I then got EWCM 4 days later again and then again 5/6 days after that. I did a test on CD27 and it was

My Af is due today (I fluctuate between a 28 and 34 day cycle, but if I O'd on the day I think I did, then I should be due today).

Do you guys think there may be hope? Or am I just another desperate TTCer with phantom pregnancy symptoms?? I do this to myself nearly every month, but never with the bbs things before. That's a real first!

By the way, I'm really sorry this is so long! But 1 more question - I know AF means your period, but what does it actually stand for?

i'm sorry but this doesn't happen straight away therefore these can't be classed as symptoms

Blue veins in my bbs and darker nipples have been symptoms for me with 3 of my 4 pregnancies...
So, I guess it can happen for some women?

Best of luck with everything Spuddle... I hope you get your BFP real soon hun

Hey Spuddle, you are my cycle buddy.
I am CD 28 today, got clear EWCM on day 14, but got some creamy stretchy stuff on CD 12 and 13. I was expecting AF today but she hasn't visited. [AF stands for Aunty Flo - just a term for a period] This is the first cycle that I have tried acupuncture so the clear EWCM on Day 14 and the stuff on Day 12 and 13 gave me hope that I was heading for a 28 Day cycle. Mine can be anything from 28 days to 6 months.
I am bloated, have some cramping, am tired and sore bbs, but I really don't feel preg just pre-menstrual (and I have food cravings!! nothing in particular just food!!!). I am not game to test yet for fear it is too early!
Only way to tell is wait! Don't you hate it!!!!!

Oh Spuddle! You sound JUST like me about a week ago!! (before AF did arrive!) I was convinced i was pregnant and seemed to have early preg symptoms too but it turns out lots of it was just AF OR in my head also... (mainly AF symptoms) It's hard not to think otherwise so i can understand where you are coming from. you aren't silly, as AF symptoms can be JUST LIKE early preg symptoms from what i've read and heard!!
oh and remember you bought some HPT's from Lullaby? I haven't got mine yet?!?!?!?!
BUT you may be pregnant so keep testing and GOOD LUCK!!!

Rach75 - Thanks for letting me know! It seems I'm inventing symptoms that don't even happen yet. I only had a three day light period last cycle (which is the shortest one I've ever had in my entire life), but I've still had a Neg on the HPT. If I am pregnant, then maybe I'm just not producing enough hCG, but if I was 2 months, I should be well on the way to testing positive, so I'm guessing my crappy body is just playing tricks on me (or the other way around).

Kimbaz - Thank you hon! I've always wondered what AF actually stood for. I'd figured out that it meant our periods, but I was stuck on the acronym - I was thinking Affluent Flow, Awful Flow, Awful Fluid, Angry Foe.... sheesh!!

Ticklish - wow! We really are cycle buddies! My mom's a spiritual healer (very handy to have one of those in the family let me tell you!!) and she fixed my cycles for 4 months (they became 28 days on the dot) but the last three (including this one) have been off - 34 days, then 32 days and now, well I'm only on the 28th, so who knows! I did have 3 positive HPTs in April, but the BT came back so goodness knows - maybe I had a chemical pregancy. I've put DF on Zinc, and will keep my fingers crossed!

Renstar - I know... I'm feeling your pain!I cannot believe you haven't received your lullaby parcel yet!! Check the website to make sure there isn't a problem? I got mine, literally 3 days later. It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! Nothing ever arrives on time in the middle of the desert, it's so frustrating! I spent the last two days in Perth and had an absolutely wonderful WONDERFUL time!! I shopped til I dropped (literally). I only flew in this morning - it was exactly the break that I needed to come back feeling rejuvenated and fresh I even had a little trip into Ella Bache (norti Spuddle!) I've used three of the lullaby HPTs - 2 when it was WAY WAY too early (but I couldn't wait!) and one on Tuesday. I'll test again on Saturday and see how I go. I've heard of people who don't test positive until they are 2 months, but I think it must be so rare that the chances are fairly low. If it is a again, then I'll just keep plodding til I get that !!! I can't wait to see the smile of delight on my DF's face when he learns that I'm finally pregnant!

    Hi Spuddle,
I need some of your mum's spritual healing. I was so convinced I was going for a 28 day cycle this time.
Today, CD29 and still nothing!!!! (except the odd cramp and pain in bb - normal pre-AF stuff anyway!!)
Some women's bb are more sensitive to hormones and changes can happen early on, so it does sound positive!! (then again it could be fluid retention - damn mind/body tricks!!!) With my last pregnancy, I was really really stingingly sore at around 4 and half weeks.
Wishing you a positive positive BFP.

Spuddle - I emailed them and they said it was the aust post error and it got lost in the mail!!! So they are sending them again for me PLUS a surprise in with it!! yay! because they feel bad i had to wait so long... they rang and spoke to my DF (i was out) and they said "are you Renees partner?" and he said yes (of course hehe) because of privacy etc they must ask that question etc... and they said sorry but we are sending it again plus freebies! I think DF said it's ovulation tests too??! yay!!! I could do with those!!! So the wait was worth it.

You must get so lonely out in the desert!?!?!? Far out, is there NOTHING around you? I wish you all the very best in your TTC journey, keep me up to date. If you ever want to email me, my email is on my profile

I agree Catherine - they totally suck! I think that it's pretty indicative of the power of the mind though - if we want something to happen badly enough, we can convince ourselves it is and through this desire we manifest our own symptoms. I reckon there would be a medical thesis in it!

Hey Renstar - I'm emailing ya!

Oh god. I just bought a saliva ovulation test - it cost $75!! But, you use the same one over and over again, so it'll probably work out cheaper in the end!

I think I need help lol

Hi Spuddle, don't give up hope yer, until those dreaded af arrive. For some reason every month is a bloated month & pg symptom month. So now just letting mother nature run its course and wait for testing until after af is due. Only thing is I have had several false positives with hpts, which only dash my hopes once af actually arrive, so this month I am making myself wait until at least a week over before I test. I was wasting so much money on hpts for nothing. Only to have last month be 5-6 days late only to have positve tests and then have af arrive. Decided won't do that to myself this month. Heres hoping that you are actually bfp.

Thanks csab. Well, I'm covered regardless. I had either 4 false positives in April, or a chemical pregnancy. Fingers crossed that I will get a soon... I hope the same for you It's just so emotionally trying when you get all these symptoms and still a

    Hi Lisa,
I have never noticed this in my bbs before which is why it suddenly struck me (we don't have a mirror that is more than 30cm2 in our house and the hotel I stayed at in Perth this week had a much bigger mirror!!). How soon did you get these symptoms?

Thanks for your kind words The support on this site is so brilliant. I was telling my DF about it because I'd left the window open on our computer and I think he'd nearly spewed on the spot haha! It got me thinking about how there really is nowhere else on earth where we can talk about EWCM! Talk about freedom of expression - no problem or symptom is non-communicado!

No worries Renstar. I really should be working. I've got so much do... just can't seem to click that little cross in the corner of the page...
