    Possible implantation bleed?

    Just wanting some advice ladies

I have no idea about dates and stuff but I'm in the middle-ish of my cycle at the moment and yesterday I had 3 brown spots on my knickers - nothing more when I wiped and nothing since. I've heard of 'spotting' before but have never had anything like this.

Do you think it could be an implantation bleed? I tried to google it and just got confused lol.

My main worry is that I can't really know for sure for another few weeks and if I am then I want to start eating well, etc now - but my engagement party is in 10 days so I have been having a bit more wine than usual (I took it upon myself to taste test to choose which to buy for the party ). Should I just play it safe and not drink anymore? Or not worry until I can test and know for sure?

    Hi Ash,

To me it sounds it could be implantation bleeding, hence brown blood too. That is what I had before I even knew Dh and I were pregnant. Looking back now I conceived before christmas and not knowing I drank champaign, ate blue cheese...etc.

Now I have a beautiful baby girl who is 4 weeks old and she is healthy as can be but to be safe, you can limit your drinks to one or two, plenty of water or go cold turkey. Enjoy your engagment party.x

That happened to me about 2 weeks ago. A couple of brown spots on my knickers for a couple of days but when I wiped, nothing. I have been too scared to test though lol because I am not quite ready for another baby.

If you drink nothing, you're probably not UTD.

If you have a massive night, you're probably UTD.

Murphy's Law dictates. And you know how I am with Murphy's Law

I'd not be too comfortable having a big night not being 100% sure if I was not pg. I'd say have a glass or two and call it quits. You don't really want to be hammered at your engagement party anyway, do you? I was too stressed and nervous to drink much...

Have a great night Ash! When is it?

ETA: just read its in 10 days. Fantastic Have a great time. There's also the chance that you could know in 10 days... I got a +ve HPT with DD at 9DPO... if you're getting an implant bleed, you've gotta be like 7-10DPO already???? Maybe?

Thanks for the replies ladies - I wasn't planning on having a lot to drink on the night lol only a few glasses - and probably less now that I'm thinking about this!

Oceanprincess - is that the way it works? I thought that the implantation was when the counting started - and I read online I've got to wait until after 19 days to have an accurate test result

If I'm already 5 or 7 days that exciting!!

Because I've been thinking about it today I've noticed lots of extra symptoms (like hot flushes and sore boobs) - but they are probably just my brain messing with me lol

Yes usually you spot with implantation bleeding around a week after o, so you would already be on your way. gl and hope that you find out soon. i had implantation bleeding and thought for sure that i was out, but low and behold i ended up pg with ds.

I guess it depends on how long your cycle is.....if its a 4 week cycle and you are in the middle (with day 1 being the start of AF) then I would suggest you'd be closer to O time rather than implanting..... I had implantation bleeds with both my BFP's and they were probably a weekish after O (but that's just me though). If it is implantation though your body would have started to make HcG so maybe in a few days time you could attempt an early test?

Do what you're comfortable with hun. When I was waiting to find out if I was pregnant with DD we were going out for mexican with a big bunch from work and they had awesome margheritas but I wasn't sure yet if I was so didn't drink. That's just me though. Have always played it safe. Hoping you get a BFP soon

I've had spotting when i've ovulated so maybe it was that if its happening in the middle of your cycle.

Thanks so much for all the advice ladies but it turns out it was all a false alarm - AF arrived today so it must have been nothing except wishful thinking perhaps lol.

Got DF and I talking about it though which is very exciting! Looks like we might actually start trying to TTC now because we were both disappointed when we realised it wasn't already happening.

    Thanks again
