    Pregnancy after miscarriage

    Hi all,
im just wanting to know if anyone else has been in the same situation or can help me!!!

Last month i had a miscarriage i was about 6 and a half wks pregnant, i didnt have a D&C it happened naturally within 5days i know your supposed to wait for another cycle before trying again. But my husband and i havent exactly been so careful as such! i did a pregnancy test this morning and it came back positive!!

Is it dangerous to be pregnant straight away? has anyone else had this happen to them and theyve been fine? Im waiting for a few weeks before going to the doctors. Any imput would be awesome thanks

Hey lovey. You should be fine. Drs only recommend waiting a cycle so you know your dates etc as things can be a bit dicey with your menstrual cycle after a m/c. If your body wasn't ready to fall, you wouldn't have. If you are worried tho, maybe go and speak to your GP. Otherwise, congratulations!

My first son was conceived right after a miscarriage with no period in between. It was fine and my OBGYN said its quite common to be super fertile right after a miscarriage. Congratulations!

Thanks Im very nervous and scared as of the past m/c and all which im sure is natural plus if all works out it will actually be our first child Im just worried about how the doctor will be with it with lecturing me and all! Im thinking of waiting a week or so before seeing the doctor just incase its still too early. But the plus side to it was, my pregnancy test this time was alot stronger in colour than the ones i had when i was pregnant prior

Seeing these replies give me great hope its all ok! My mother was a midwife and when i m/c she kept saying wait for the cycle for it to work well or there will be complications which scares me now of course cos i have done the opposite to her advice! I dont think i'll tell my husband straight away because i dont want to potentially disapoint him

My Ds1 is perfectly healthy, the only problem I had with my pregnancy was pre eclampsia but that could have happened in any pregnancy and was no way related to getting pregnant right after a miscarriage. My OBGYN was a fertility specialist and he told me there really is no reason to not TTC right after a miscarriage even with no cycle; the only problem would be if it is a genetic issue causing the miscarriage and if thats the case it wouldnt matter how much time you left between the m/c and TTC.

So be positive and hang in there ok?

How long after u found out with home test did you see the specialist???
Did they calculate the due date from "last menstrual period" from the m/c bleeding?
Thanks for the info it really does help and makes me excited!!!

Hmm I had a d&c on Dec 14th I would have been around 9wks pregnant. I bled for about 7 days then nothing. On January 14th I rang my OBGYN and asked why I hadnt gotten my period yet, he said it can take awhile for it to come back and to ring again if it hadnt shown in 2 weeks. My Dh said he would bet I was pregnant so I tested about a week after that and BFP. I had a scan to determine an EDD because I dont know when I could have ovulated but it turned out I ovulated around 2wks after my d&c/start of bleeding like a normal cycle. I saw my OBGYN at about 7wks to check for a heartbeat and went from there.
