Pre Conception Vitamins for Women and Men

    Hi all,

I realise there has been heaps of threads regarding which vitamins to use etc, but a lot of those threads seem to be a few years old.
So with all the newer products about, I thought I'd ask who uses what and if you think it has helped/worked.

SO here are my questions BB ladies and gents...

    What are you taking?
How long before you got BFP?
Did you have any issues with that pregnancy??

I currently am on Swisse Pregnancy + Ultivite
Have fallen pregnant - but it was a blight ovum- so clearly, an issue...
DH is on a beta blocker (25mg atenolol) for possiable genetic heart issue, and he smokes! ( trying to get him to quit - long story - and doesn't eat many veggies - longer story!)

    Pharmacist recommends
for DH ~ Menevit for DH (other have magnesium which is no good for DH other meds)
for Me ~ Blackmores concieve well gold -will be starting today - had d&c under a week ago so best time to start new vits, and prev had 33-35 day cycles - trying to get it back to 28-30 days...

I would love to hear what you have used and outcomes...

    TIA

We used fertilaid, both the men's and the womens ones. I really believe the motility blend helped my DH because we went from 10% motility to bfp within 3mths. Google fair haven health

im on a few coz my sis is a natropath....
im on a Natal multi, zinc, ovarianne, progesterlift.
dh is on zinc and tribulus.

    we haven't been preg yet.

my sis said to be careful of the over the counter vits because they don't always have a very high level of the right vitamins in them. i get the practiconer(sp) brands from her. you can only get them through a natropath/nutritionist/practiconer of some sort.

    good luck

I switched between Blackmores and Elevit but honestly, my fertility specialist said any multiv with folate and iodine was fine. I also changed my lifestyle - diet, exercise etc.

I do think Menevit made a difference to my DH's sperm quality.

We needed medical help to conceive - BFP took about 18 months.

It was good to get the ol' body shipshape though

I used blackmores. My doctor said there were two main ones but she recommended Blackmores as the other one (I can't remember which one) had more of something in it than the other one, which she said made it better (don't know if the other one still doesn't have this mystery ingredient though).
