Preparing for No2.. have a few questions

    Hello everyone,

I had my first, Joshua in January this year. It took us 2 years to conceive him so I am already preparing for baby No.2. We (DH and I) decided that I should not take anything like the pill to keep my body "baby friendly". And not using anything else thinking.. whatever happens happens. Which leads me to my question...

I had a few nice and normal ordinary periods. But now its been almost 3 weeks overdue. Yes I did a test.. and it came back negative. How accurate are the use by dates on those? (this one was close to it) Can the whole monthly cycle still be out of whack??? Im considering a doc's appointment. Just don't want anything to be wrong with it all after being blessed with my boy!

    Thanks for listening
    Tascha

I would test again, just to be sure (it is possible to get a false negative) - and then book myself into the doctor, either because you're pregnant, or because the test came back negative and you are still overdue for af.

I agree with the above post, you should probably go to the doctor for peace of mind, you can also take the opportunity whilst you are there to discuss your plans for number 2 and the length of this cycle.

Just quickly, before this pregnancy my cycles would vary in length which makes things very confusing, so I ended up visiting the doctor.

If you had your baby in January this year, I would guess your cycles are still a bit out of whack.
How long did you breastfeed for?
I got AF back at five weeks post partum, had three following that and then none for 11 weeks. It is possible that your body is just not rugular again yet.
If you are worried, sure thing, book into your doctor, but it's very normal to still be irregular at this stage.

Are you still breast feeding? If so, that can cause irregular periods etc.

After having a bub it can take a while for your periods to return to normal though.. maybe go and speak to your Dr about it?

I hope you get the result you want

i agree with the other girls.....6 months is not a long time to rely on your body being back to normal in regards to AF. Breastfeeding defn has an effect.....i dont know if your b/f or not.

I read somewhere that it takes 9 months to make a baby, and 9 months for our bodies to recover.........

With My first i used several HP tests all saying neg. few weeks after being late i decided 1 more test and i'll get the GP to do some teste... The last test (out of 5) had a faint pink line... looked like it was a dud... (or so i hoped at first) too myself to the GP and Yep i was preg... blood test proved it... Same thing happened this time... HP test didnt work with me....

I'd see the GP and get a blood test done. At least then you'll know for sure. If its not then the Doc can look further if he thinks its necessary... takes the stress out of wondering for a short visit i say... Good luck...
