Exclamation Progesterone Level in Luteal Phase

My Dr just told me my progesterone levels were at 771 for my 8-9dpo blood test...is he on crack and doesnt know what the heck he is doing??? Seems very high..I want to call back but think he will think Im an idiot..because he asked me why I needed to know the numbers and did i have some experience with it and I said "a little yeah" meaning Belly belly...and I bit my tounge and refrained from saying "I think i know more than you about pregnancy stuff" as when i was pg and my HCG was not doubling he still was saying it was good...i knew it wasnt and I was right...i lost the baby..

Should I call him back do you think? Are these levels right? Im 10DPO

I said Dr said levels were 771

She laughed and said no honey you'd be doing reeeeeeaaaaally well if you had those levels but that was my estrodyle...

My progesterone was at 46. *phew!*

    Now..is that a good number?

I have being trying to google progesterone levels post O. All I found was they need to be at least 10 to sustain a pregnancy so thats a woohoo! Ill keep looking for you see if I can find a normal chart range or something. So far no luck.

This is all I have found so far. Do you have any previous cycles to compair it too? I think 46 sounds great.

    Progesterone in Pregnancy

When Normal Values What Level Means
Mid-Luteal Phase 5+ ng/ml As mentioned above, a level of 5 indicates some kind of ovulatory activity, though most doctors want to see a level over 10 on unmedicated cycles, and over 15 with medications. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy.

First Trimester 10-90 ng/ml Average is about 20 at 4 weeks LMP, and 40 at 14 weeks LMP. It is important to note that while a higher progesterone level corresponds with higher pregnancy success rates, one cannot fully predict outcome based on progesterone levels. Progesterone supplementation is unlikely to help if started after a positive pregnancy test.

Second Trimester 25-90 ng/ml Average is 40 at beginning, 90 at end.

Third Trimester 49-423 ng/ml Usually peaks at about 175.

43 is a good number. It indicates ovulation. Anything over 25 (i think) indicates ovulation. And your progesterone level alone can not help you know if you are pregnant... For example, I one had a level of 95, and I was not pregnant that cycle...

ETA - I was on Clomid, so maybe that is why I was working with 25.....

anything over 30 in Au measurements means you have ovulated which is a good sign - here's hoping that you have caught that egg now...

That is such a huge help thank you so much ladies!

I havent started any spotting, I normally have some sort of discoluration by now even if its the lighest of browns..I have been taking vitamin b6 suplements too so heres hoping they've assisted! If not in pregnancy then lenghtening my luteal phase!

I definately have been feeling early pg signs comparing them to last time..the extreme tiredness feeling, moody..not pmsy just..ummm I dont know, scatty and not sure about anything, kinda like im floating along in a bubble sedated lol and the tender breasts and some low abdominal twinges, not pains just..niggles..but I know that the tender breasts and niggles are also af signs..

    Guess here's hoping!

Ps..Im not medicated, no assisted conception here, we havent gone down that path yet..
