    Progesterone levels

Hi everyone, for those of you who have had your progesterone levels tested do you remember what they should be after you ovulate and what they should be when you are pregnant? I'm thinking of making an appointment to get mine tested this week to see if that could be the reason for my 2 miscarriages and to prevent another one, but I know many GP's just look at the 'acceptable range' and even if your on the lower side still think it's still ok, so I wouldn't mind hearing what your dr's told you. Thanks

    Hiya cherished

20 or more after you ovulate and 30 or more when you're pg. My FS would have put me on prog pessaries if the prog level had dropped below 30 when I was pg.

    HTH and good luck hun

    No worries cherished

That 2nd pg in my last post should actually read prog so have edited it. I should have said too that the prog of 20 or more is at 7DPO, but I imagine that you already know that Sorry was so hot here last night I didn't get much sleep.

hehe no worries hon, We are feeling the heat too here, time to rethink air con I think! At what stage will a pregnancy show up on a blood test? is 7 DPO too early because some HPT's suggest that their tests are sensitive enough to pick up a pg a 7 DPO or have I just imagined that? lol

Hearing you on the air con! We actually have it too but DH turned it off when he came to bed

Anyway, they say that implantation occurs 7 to 10 DPO, so I wouldn't expect to get a positive much before 8 or 9 DPO really, implantation has to occur then the embie has to start to produce HCG - they can detect low levels in the lab (lower than a HPT) but they will probably say that the test is equivocal I think if its low (I used to work in pathology). You might - and its a big might - get a pos on a HPT at 8 or 9 DPO but its more likely only with a BT that early.

Here's what's happened to me FWIW: with my m/c pg I got a clear BFP on a HPT at 10 DPO and a HCG of 500 odd on a BT at 15 DPO. When I fell pg with E I also had a BT at 15 DPO and got a HCG of 184 - I was happy to bury my head in the sand for as long as possible though so didn't test early with her and 15 DPO is when the clinic routinely tested HCG. Funnily enough too I was looking at my chart where I fell pg with her yesterday and I recorded cramps on 8 DPO, no coincidence there I suspect!

    HTH hun!
