    Question re pregnancy blood test

I'm feeling a little naive here, but I was wondering whether the results of a blood test performed by a doctor to determine whether you're pregnant are known straight away? i.e. do you get an answer there and then in the doctor's surgery, or do they have to send your blood away or something?

    Thanks.

They need to send the blood away to a lab to get it checked and your HCG measured. SOmetimes you can get it back the same day, or the next day.

    Good luck

Thanks Kailz. I don't think I'll get to the doc till Friday, and I really want the results before the weekend, hence my anxiousness.

Aww yeah it's unlikely, depends on how often they transport the results. If you go in first thing in the morning, it is possible it might be there by afternoon but unlikely. You know Dr's, they love to make you wait!

    Good luck with the results

Sometimes you even have to wait up to 3 or 4 days for some results unless they mark them urgent. Good luck.
