    Ruptured Ovarian Cyst

So, I've just had a cyst rupture, and it hurts like absolute hell. About the same as labour . The ultrasound found free fluid floating in my abdomen, the likely cause of bowel contractions and intense abdominal pain.

I didn't really have enough time before we left to ask questions, about TTC this cycle or in the future, and whether or not to quit our current course of drugs (co-incidently this is our first cycle on Dostinex, which is supposed to reduce prolactin having a knock-on effect of increasing P4 and estrogen).

The cyst ruptured on O day, likely a follicular ovarian cyst, so who knows where the egg went?!?!

I'm just a bit lost, was really hoping to be pregnant by Christmas and this is a total bummer. And did I mention it really really hurts . I want to fall pregnant but I am terrified of that happening again, it hurt so bad and there is no way I could go through that while looking after DD1 or while at work.

    Sorry, rant over .

Ouch! I hope the pain is relieved soon and hoping you get a BFP!

Ohhhhh hun, they're SO painful aren't they!! I don't know about the medication side of things, but I've never been on any AC apart from natural stuff, and I've had 5 or 6 bursts, I don't know what causes them. I guess it might be an idea to give this cycle a miss and just look after yourself, but you should really go to whoever prescribed the meds and talk to them for sure

Thanks hun, does that mean this cycle is definitely out? It still aches pretty bad. I've already O'd, or so I thought...

I forgot to mention the lady said I have lots of little cysts in my lining, anyone know what that is?

Lots of little cysts could be PCOS, I can't remember if you already have that or not - the doctor who did my scan before my D&C said it looked like my girls were wearing their pearl necklaces

I don't think it's impossible for you to have gotten pregnant on this cycle. For me, the aching lasted one to two week after the actual burst. I think mine either take awhile to burst or I lose a few at a time, because I'll have 3 or 4 days of the extreme pain, can't stand straight, bowel problems and general hurtiness, then it'll die down and while it still hurts, it's nowhere near as bad y'know?

Yeah the extreme pain only lasted 2 hours, but it was like transition in labour.... I had terrible terrible embarassing bowels, they think caused by the fluid irritating the bowel. I could share but it was way TMI. Now it's just a dull ache.

Oh and thanks. Sorry that you know what this is like.

Thanks, I'm off to the GP in an hour to find out how many other cysts are there (a few in my lining, another in my ovary, two in my vagina). I wonder if this has anything to do with reduced fertility? Very confused about my chances this month, the cyst ruptured fluid outside of my uterus but they also saw a corpus luteum in the right ovary?

It's still possible to get pg this cycle even with the ruptured cyst. Last time one of mine ruptured I ended up in hospital on morphine (and the associated projectile vomiting). I feel pain just knowing you're in pain!

Hugs and thinking of you. I second the "rest".

Thanks all. Doc is suspicious that the new drug has swung the pendulum too much in the other direction now, so getting some bloods done to see where we are at. Confused because after all this she wants me to do another cycle on the same drug to be sure. I'm wondering if it isn't time to see a proper FS? Just chillin' for the afternoon, Bloom I am fine to see you tonight (or this that next week?). Either way I am free.

That sounds awful, you poor thing. I hope it doesnt affect your chances of a BFP this time or in the future.

Rest up and I hope the Drs sort it out for you.
