    short Luteal phase

Oh man...ok so i have posted a few times the last few days with different problems each time. Well my first cycle (last one) off pill i ovulated 10 weeks after withdrawal bleed then got AF 6 days later, this time ovulated on day 29 got AF today! GRRR which is 8 days DPO, so maybe I have a luteal defect or maybe its just the pill has messed me up. Does anyone know if I should see the doctor about this or just get vitamin B6 and give it a go as I've heard it works well. Silly me and I thought I was UTD

Sorry Becky, I have no idea! How did you know you O'd? Did you temp or use an OPK? If you are sure you O'd then, it might be worth a trip to your GP just for peace of mind. It could be related to being on the pill, maybe it will take a while for your body to get back to normal.

Sorry I'm not much help! I hope you find some answers soon

    Becky,

I would try the B6 give it two cycles and you should see an improvement.

I have been taking it and my LP has increased from 9-10days to 13 to 14 days.

I was taking the blackmoores but thought the dosage was a little high so this month I have swaped to Natures Own which is half to dosage.

    Good luck with it all.

Hi Becky. I was experiencing similar problems to you and have been on B6 for two cycles now. While my LP appears to have lengthened slightly I have started getting strange spotting prior to AF's arrival. I went to visit a GP who suggested the the short luteal phases and spotting could be the result of my body not producing enough progesterone since coming off the pill. I have gone for a blood test this week (on CD 14) and will have another one next week (CD21) to monitor my levels.

The GP was explaining to me that quite often B6 will solve or mask the problem but if you find that it doesn't help maybe look at checking out your progesterone levels. I understand if it is a progesterone problem it can easily be treated. I sure hope so!!!
