    Hi - introducing myself

    Hi,

I've been hovering around the boards for a few weeks now and thought I'd introduce myself.

I am sort of trying to conceive my second child.... I say sort of because I am not very healthy at the moment and my herbalist reccommends waiting another 6 months or so before trying. However I am turning 39 this year and my son is nearly two. I want to be pregnant NOW!

DH and I have been having unprotected sex for about 8 months now and nothings happened so far. I'm about 20 kilos overweight and suffering the tailend of ross river fever..... maybe this is why i am not conceiving? Also for some weird reason my breasts are still full of milk from DS????

I have made an appt with my GP for two weeks time. My period is due anytime this week (the last six months it has varied from a 17 day cycle to a 28 day cycle). Either I'll have a BFP by then or I'll be talking to him about why not.

So, thats my story. See you 'round the boards!!

    Hi BD and welcome!

Illnesses can definitely get in the way of conception even if if there's no proven 'link'. The body is a holistic, interconnected thing so everything influences the other in some way.

    Hi Blondedoctor!
RRF can definitely interfere, DH and I thought we'd never conceive because of my illness (similar to RRF) I saw a naturopath and was given some tonic that tasted awful but kick started my body into healing, long story short, we have a 7 month old now
Best of luck with your drs appt!

Thanks everyone, Its day 26 and I still don't have my period and I still got a BFN today. Not really sure what is going on in my belly. My cycle is normally 24 days, but the last 6 months or so its been rather erratic, swinging from a 17 day cycle to a 28 day cycle. I'll test again tomorrow if AF still hasn't arrived and I'll prolly just keep testing until it does arrive!! Hoping that I do get a BFP soon but not feeling too confident. I can't stop thinking that its all my fault for not taking better care of myself since my first (born by emergency caeserean).

Anyhoo, whats done is done and I'm here as I am now so if its not to be this month, there is always next month

Best of luck to all of you

Hey Blondie! (Love your name by the way) Certainly will see you around! now, I am not swayed by my future career (studying to be a naturopath) but it NEVER hurts to seek alternative therapies! Although I haven't conceived yet (on a break until after the wedding) I can say that a mixture between eastern and western herbal medicine has really made a difference to my cycle and how I feel!

    Keep your mind open lovely!

Hi Kimmi, Good luck with your naturopathic degree!! And your upcoming wedding!!

I am seeing a chinese herbalist at the moment and have had amazing results for other issues I have. Fertility isn't something we are working on at the moment because she wants to finish up with some other areas first, but its definitely next in queue
