In the lead up to me and DP starting to TTC, he went to his GP for a general health check. Due to an accident which happened when he was 15 while playing football (severely torn hamstring and pins required in his pelvis), his doctor suggested having a few tests done prior to TTC to make sure everything is good to go. He is fit as a fiddle now, physically (runs every day, weights at the gym etc) and no problems in the bedroom.
His GP ordered a semen analysis just to be on the safe side, as the accident could have affected things in that area, although there is no physical evidence that it has. He went ahead and did the test anyway.
The results have arrived at the GP but he is yet to look at them and call him back with the results.
Waiting waiting....
What is considered "normal" with this kind of test?
He is freaking out about it. I'm sure it will be fine but am a little anxious because he is anxious!
Basically you want:
Volume - at least 2ml
Count - over 20 million/ml
Motility - over 50% going forward, with over 25% with 'rapid linear progression'
Morphology - over 15% looking normal
My DH was told yep all ok. Luckily I went with him and said "Can we please have a printed copy" DH was so happy he had "super sperm" when I explained the results to him LOL
One friend told DP his sperm must be snipers (success with one shot ) so that's his new favourite. It was supersperm after they overcame birth control for DD. Men - in some ways they never grow up!
What a hilarious thread this turned out to be.. My DF has super sperm too apparently! Even when I fell pregnant with the twins I didn't get credit for releasing 2 eggs, it was all because of his super sperm!!
ETA: Good luck with your TTC journey Aimz, I hope it's very short..
