Ok, so I've never got the hang of charting, and don't really know what the terms mean etc... so I just have one question.

I'm guessing that EWCM means egg white cervical mucous - is that right? And is this the egg white before cooking yes? LOL

So if you wipe and (TMI ahead!) you have stringy type mucous - is that EWCM?

And - my last question - does that mean its ovulation time or just before?

Yes, I did do sex ed at school, but they never covered these type of questions.. LOL

i would count stringy as EWCM. cause it kinda looks like the uncooked part of a fried egg LOL! ewww sorry for the TMI

EWCM is basically around the time of O. sometimes you can get patches and i reckon ANY time that you see it, go for it, because it could be the time. usually after O it goes sticky, or dries up completely. then occassionally you can get more patches, but there is a slight consistency change (less opaque and more 'creamy').

HTH! it took me quite a few cycles to work out what 'my' EWCM was and the difference between that and sticky and creamy....but you get there in the end.

Hmm. It was quite sticky? Like it was (TMI!!) kinda gobby, and I accidentally got some on my hand... and it sorta went from my hand to the toilet paper..... but the bastard wouldn't come off my hand unless I wiped it - like it was stuck there.. ROFL

Lol AE- you're not the only one. I thought until about a week ago that you only got EWCM(pretty sure you're right re the acronym(word?)) when you we're UTD.

Shows how much attention I pay to my body...

OK - heres my uneducated reply !

Yep EWCM = Egg White Cervical Mucous

TMI - i find i get this when very close to O and also while Oing - starts out as noticeable when wiping then gets to the stage where there is enough to notice on my liner. I have even had enough in the past to have a long string of it from me to the toilet seat and across my hand while wiping (told you it was TMI)

If its clear and you can stretch it between your fingers and it doesnt really break then its EWCM but if its creamy and you can roll it around- bit like clag at school- but not stretch it then its not O time.

ETA - leading up to AF mucous dries up. After AF mucous is creamyish and turns into EWCM then becomes creamy again after O then dries up.
(well thats what happens with my weird body anyway)

Somewhere i have paperwork that explains all this really well...

EWCM is quite thin (like water but a little thicker) and stretches a long way. It can also easily be confused with sperm which tends to be more globby and sticky. If you have DTD in the last 48 hours or so, it could be that as well.

Mel, I get EWCM about 1-2 days before I O and maybe 1 day after. As everyone said it's stretchy and yep, like egg white in your undies, lol!

or start if your TTC.

Ive been having it twice in one month lately

once aorund normal o'ing time and about 4 days before AF get's here....blastedly annoying..maybe im starting menopause

Was wondering the same thing myself...

Also with the EWCM if you ARE trying to concieve and are DTD alot then the way to tell when its EWCM and not ummmm DH products then DH bits arent stretchy like EWCM!

I have had 5 out of my 6 pregnancies by using this method of knowing my CM and 12years of NOT falling when i havent wanted! It works! We dont use any other methods!
