I beleive it is a vaginal wash. There are special washes in the girly sections of the supermarket for cleanliness and hygine. I have always heard you should avoid them as vaginas are self cleaning, and that douches can alter pH and can lead to problems.

I have always been told the same thing about them altering pH. I understand that they are very popular in America.
