I hope you ladies don't mind if I ask two questions....
I'll just quickly tell you my story so that you know what is happening to me and why i'm asking...
I have very irregular cycles (32-50 days). opks this month all -ve. From CD22-27 I have had lots of cm about three times a day with a brown tinge to it..and some really light period like cramping..
So my questions are:
1. Did you have implantation bleeding and if so what was it like how long did it last etc?
2. How long after implantation bleeding did you get a bfp?
Do you think that this is what is happening to me? I really hope so but I'm not sure... (sorry i know that is three!! ) Thanks so much ladies i'm just really confused!
We have been ttc since April 2009 and its just so frustrating!!
Hey jenjen
Sorry, I dont have much advice on the implantation bleeding as I didnt experience any bleeding or pain. It is common to happen though so maybe you will get lucky this month! I do however have some different advice incase you need it.
We were ttc since march 09, I was just the same as far as the looong cycles go!! Drove me crazy! But since we were doing it artificially with donor sperm we had to get our dates PERFECT as we had to fly interstate to try. I learned that sometimes I wouldnt ovulate until much later in the month.. (you generally ovulate 10-14days prior to getting your period so on a 50 day cycle you should continue testing with opks past day 27 just to make sure).
I aslo got to know my cervix alot better after a few failed attempts and I can tell you now, it was the best thing I ever did. I wish I had done it months earlier! It's a little on the ikky side but hey it helps us get that BFP and Im pretty sure most of us will do anything for that. I would check my cervix every day (usually in the shower) to see what it was doing. Most of the month it is positioned low and feels hard like the end of your nose, you can feel that it is closed. Just before ovulation occurs, it goes up really high and is hard to reach, it turns into a big soft coushiony thing and within a day or two you will notice it opens. This means you are ovulating or just about to. You also get alot more of the cm up by the cervix. It was definately what helped us get our timing spot on.
Fingers crossed for you, good luck!

WOw that is really helpful!! I think i will definately try the cervix thing next month... I didn't realise it was that easy to tell the difference!
How long after ttc did you go to see a specialist? Im starting to think that it may be something more sinister wrong with me ??
Thanks so much for replying that was really helpful! xx
Yeah i'm thinking that next month i'll have to go to the Dr... Its just sad because I really wanted to do this by ourselves.. But we will do anything to get a bfp so Im thinking that we are going to have to ask for some help....
Thanks for replying honey and i hope that you get your bfp soon toO!!
Miskilla,
Wow that really is helpful! I didn't realise that you could tell such a big difference in your cervix!! I think i'll definately try that next month... I just wish my cycles were shorter so that I had a better idea of when ovulation should be happening...
HOw long after starting ttc did you go see your dr?
Thanks so much for replying honey it was really helpful!
Hi JenJen,
I found natural therapies helped regulate my cycles - I was on the shorter side which resulted in a short L/Phase.
I took Vitex as well (it has an affect on temps - they were much higher than usual).
I've yet to get my BFP! However I find Traditional Chinese Medicine very helpful.
jenjen...
I know how you feel about having a long cycle, not only is it harder to track when you ovulate, I especially hated having to wait much longer until being able to try again the next month if it hadnt worked! So frustrating!
We first went to see our doctor last dec 08, so 3months before we started trying. This was because we would be conceiving artificially so I wanted to make sure everything in my body was working properly before we tried (as it is expensive as far as flights/ accommodation interstate) I wanted to be sure before wasting our money trying if something was wrong. I had ultrasounds every few days to track ovulation (this was called a follicular activity test) and blood tests later in my cycle to check that ovulation had occurred. All was good so after that it was a matter of timing it right.
I bought a basal body thermometer off ebay and took my temp every morning before getting out of bed. I sometimes still do it now out of habit! I got heaps of the opk's and I wouldnt stop testing all month until I got my positives. I usually started testing around day 17 onwards (they are cheap to buy on ebay so I had heaps to muck around with).
Then in July I thought I may as well try the cervix thing as we had still got nowhere. We tried in July but failed as we left flew back home a few days too early. But August we tried again and were there the exact day I felt that my cervix was open, and got lucky. It took 9days after that to get a positive hpt. Early days still but Im trying to keep positive thoughts.
I definately do recommend getting to know what your cervix is doing through the month. I really hope it works for you soon and hope this has helped you in some way. I would advise going to the doc anyway, just to check things out. Good luck! Let me know if you need anymore advice
I got implantation bleeding, it was really light, brownish and watery. I also had AF cramps and just thought i was getting my normal AF. Lasted about 2 days really really light. Did a test a few days later when AF didn't come and got a positive.
Unfortunately was an unviable preg.
TTC again this month.
Good Luck I hope this is your month!
