Yep, Ash, all three of us will have girls born this year (plus my DD1 from 2006 vintage ;)). It will be nice for them growing up. I have three girl cousins all within two years of me and it's great to keep a close extended family bond. Now we visit to let our own girls be together!

Beautitude - get your DH on a bike. All of our cycling friends have girls, I've never found anything to confirm it as anything better than an urban legend, but DH rode 200km the weekend our little girl was conceived.
Getting on a bike sounds like a good option. Or he could take up smoking! My DH was a smoker when we conceived our DD. Since quitting, we have had 3 sons.
Apparently radiographers are more likely to have girls.
Jen, my dad and his brother have 8 children between them - 7 girls and only 1 boy! My mum is one of 4 girls. Maybe I am part of the generation to 'even' it out!
I think the bike theory is a good one. I read that gender swaying for a girl can be helped if the man wears tight underwear or has a super hot bath to kill off a few of the weak sperm before sex. The weak sex are male sperm, the strong long living sperm are girls :) So makes sense radiographers have girls too... guess my H's cushy desk job explains our boys :lol:

Hi everyone! Well I've done everything I'm supposed to just about for a girl.... And we dtd waaay before ovulation! I either ovulated today or yesterday but am feeling exhausted and have a strong pain in lower right side! I'm pretty sure it's all ovulation signs, so let's just hope something pink sticks! :-D

We are going to be ttc very soon for a autumn or winter bub. We are going to be gender swaying for a pink bundle.
Will be my 4th c/s so think this may be my last attempt, but first time actually swaying.
Dh and I on both cranberry, calcium and magnesium vitamins (ya dh is actually taking them!)
Looking back on how we dtd and timing explains my 3 monkeys, and I ate burgers! Now I can't stand burgers do my diet has changed quite abit.
It's strange my mum had 4 girls before she had a boy, her brother had 3 girls and a boy but dh's dad had two boys but his brother had 2 girls! 2 of my sisters have had kids all girls! So girls are defently strong in the family lol!
Will be dtd well before O, I always did it as close as possible so changing many tactic hehe.
Well we got our boy! Not sure whether the timing was the key but we only dtd on the night of ovulation and Ta-da, 9 months on and little Finnian arrived via the sunroof. Funny cos I was completely convinced he was a girl my whole pregnancy!

I am here also becuase we have 3 boys and are going to start trying for our elusive girl in a couple of months. I am trying the o+12 as this is what my sister did and it worked for her, however I have just brought some ph strips as I was thinking the results would give me something to go on, my ph is a 5!!! was definatly not what I was expecting to see when your are suposed to be this when trying for a girl?. I havent tried my DF yet and this was a middle of the day test. But just gobsmacked at the moment and dont really know where to go from here. When we TTC with number 3 we tried the o+12 the first month ( I didnt do the diet and didnt know my ph ) we just did the timing but I didnt get pregnant so gave up as I just wanted to have a baby. If my DF is acidic aswell I will feel quite deflated I think. I honestly thought this maybe the reason and If I do something about it this time we would get a little girl. I know this may sound a little desprate and crazy but I feel like it somtimes, It just feels like a baby girl would be the perfect last edition to our family.
Any ideas and thoughts would be lovely.

I would love to add a boy to our family this time round (although I would honestly be happy with anything). I know that theoretically DTD close to O is best to ensure this, but what else would I need to do (if anything?)
Im still around! Well dh and I have had some lengthy discussions about ttc #4. Although $$ plays a significant part, he is more concerned that if it turns out to be another girl, I will suffer from major GD. I cried for weeks after finding out #3 was another girl, but she is the best and I love her no less. I still am pretty sure I am not done and would like to go for my last baby. I am (actually dh and I ) are going to start changing our diet. I need to do some more reasearch about it all so hopefully I can start soon. I need to work out suppliments too. So it means that if and when we are ready then we can ttc without having to wait iykwim!
Anyone got any info/tips. I know about timing. Ive been off the pill sice dd3 was born and have pretty much got my cycle down pat and know my cm back to front. DTD positions? And food. I have to cut down my dairy, but what should I eat lots of?

Hi ladies, I was recommended to read a book by Hazel Chesterman. It's definitely worth a read. I had DS first. We didn't sway and I'm sure it was day 15, last day to fall pregnant and it was a one off. Right on ovulation once, boy came along. Better to not have frequent DTd for a boy.
I tried swaying for girl second time around. Not sure if what I did worked but along came DD. For a girl try DTD right after period. Don't DTD around ovulation. If you can't fall pregnant that far from ovulation, she recommends creeping closer a day every second month. Frequent DTD for a girl up to the day you are up to. If you can't, get DH to help himself lol. Diluted sperm is good for girls. My DH was away for work and he had to do this lol.
She goes through food but mostly timing. Some men are more prone to one sex than another. There are tips for this too.

Tonight I mentioned to DH that perhaps we should "try" and have a little girl, I wasn't going to bring it up just yet but he mentioned that he will be meeting a work mates little girl at work tomorrow (she'll be 6 days old) and he appeared real clucky. He didn't seem to bat an eyelid at the idea, not sure he know what's involved, but then neither do I, so here I am, not sure where I'm heading or what I'll need to do, or how to start... But I'm here... Perhaps I should start at the beginning of this thread....

Just wanted to say I too am in the same position as you. We are TTC a little girl this time around. We are doing the O+12 theory because my sister tried this and got her little girl she wanted. There is so many different things to read and consider. I have been charting my cycle for 3 months now ( also did this with DS3 ) so have had a bit of practice. We are also taking the vitamins and have been for the last month. We are hoping to TTC this month and will see how we go from there. I am so nervous as this will be our last baby and I really want to have a girl. I hope all goes well for you.

What vitamins are you taking? I started looking into them just the other day but wasn't really sure on the direction
Chody- I noticed with my ds's we dtd close to O but regularly (not too often but a couple of time around o) and my eating habits may of contributed to egg more more swaying to males as I did like my cheeseburgers lol. Maybe baby helped tell me with ds3 how close I was when I started seeing ferns off to bd'ing it was hehe.
Danielle, The general theory with o+12 is doing your temp charting so you know exactly when you ovulate. checking all the other signes aswell cm and ovulation pain. You DTD one time 12 hours after you have ovulated. You also have to have an acidic body they say that this is what the girls like. The tablets I am taking are Magnesium, clacium and cranberry ( to lower you ph) you can buy ph strips to test. Do your DH aswell. There is also a girl diet that you can do at the beginning of this thread. You can also douch before DTD and use a lime soaked tampon after. There is lots of info around and you have to decided what you think will work for you?. Its a hard one. I am very nervous knowing this will be our last baby, and would love a little pink bundle. Also while you do ALL these things it can take a long time to catch the egg.

Well, I have been trying to do the boy diet for a while now (lost count) and my cm is finally heading north! Today I tested it and its a 7... pretty good for me when its usually a 5. Things are a bit weird with my cm because I have been having robitussin for a cough and my cm is so ... lots and egg white but not egg white!
Dh is coming around to #4... Im pretty sure! He does talk in riddles. He keeps asking if Im alkaline yet! And he confessed that he has been googling gender swaying! I think I'd be happy to have a baby of any gender, but a boy would be lovely. Time will tell I guess.
Minimatron have you tested your dh's sperm ph?? We have 3 boys and gender swaying for a girl and my dh sperm is off the chart alkaline!! So It would be interesting to fine out. Sorry bit personal lol.
I am doing o+12 for a girl. Just had a misscarige so am waiting a cycle before trying again.

Ha ha... Well, nice to see I'm in good company here. I have two awesome boys, and have this longing now for a girl! Also because this may be our last, so I want to make it "count", ya know? I am hoping to TTC by Christmas or just after, hubby and I are both working hard for the next few months to get fit and lose some weight, not heaps but we are both feeling squishy in the middle, lol. I am thinking the timing method would suit us best, my bf just fell pg with a girl after DTD five days before ovulation, she thought they were out of a chance because her hubby had to go out of town in a hurry!

Yes This would have resulted in a girl because the boy sperms would have died off getting there faster and being no egg there, the girls swim slower but last longer. The problem is detecting o before it happens is really hard. Every month seems different. Good luck with your ttc journey
yeah, that does make sense, as both my boys were conceived pretty much on the day of ovulating! I'm still kinda waiting for my cycle to get back to normal, but the last two have been better, I seem to be ovulating on the same day each time (day 14, which is a friday, lucky for my hubby!). I guess we'll just have to try on day 10? or something like that?
That would be very tricky so good luck, I am doing O+12 so 12 hours after ovulation and making sure your DH sperm is acidic and you have an acidic inviroment cause thats what the girl sperm like apparently. there is alot of info on the net about it.
At the end of the day its all up to luck I suppose but this is what we are trying as this will be our last baby aswell.
Hmm... I hadn't heard of the 12 hour thing. One tng I do know for sure is when I have ovulated. I get full on pressure, cramps, and um... Increased desire. :p so that would actually be easy for us! Provided 12 hours isn't at 3am or something. :) thanks for the info!
Forgot to add they think the male should not ejaculate for at least a week before!! Very hard for them but worth it if it's going to get a pink bundle

Hi...is anyone out there? I'm getting a little nervous because I will be ovulating next week so got to time this right for a boy sway. I bought the smiley face opk, which is far more accurate than trying to decifer two lines. I'll test at 2pm and if I get a positive I will test again at 10pm then thinking of dtd then or in the middle of the night? Last time I used the OK it was positive one day and negative the next. That's when I fell pg and miscarried. I'm going to do a bicarb finger because I really can't get my cm alkaline no matter how hard I try. I know doggie is a good position and orgasm before....problem is I don't orgasm during sex so would have to you know.... Am I reading too much into this? Any extra info would be greatful. Its our definate last go.

we have two beautiful girls whom we love very much, and DH has agreed we can TTC for #3! yay!
he did let on he was a little disappointed DD2 was a girl (especially as I was convinced she was a boy during pg), so whilst I would be happy with another girl, I would also like to be able to give DH a son.
I have done a bit of reading, and am concerned about the diet thing - I have to take calium supplements which according to the literature sway pink, but I can't not take them for my own health (though I have considered halving the dosage - atleast till we get our BFP).
i am going to buy DH some supplements and boxer shorts (which he hates!)
Hi Milly, best of luck! Both my boys were conceived on the day I ovulated, as far as I can tell. We're angling for a girl this time, and since DH has said this is the last one for sure (I was hoping for 4, but hmmmm) I am super nervous! I'd love to give my DH a girl, because he goes totally gooey and clucky over our friends newborn girls, and I think it'd bring a little balance to our household.

Hey... yes we are. I got onto a site called gender dreaming. It has loads of information and I totally recommend it. I bought a plan on there. It goes through diet and supps and everything else. The boy diet is the high everything diet, girl is low everything.. go have a look...I'll probably confuse you. I'm just oing now so in the 2ww. This is our final...boy or girl.
Okay ladies can you hit me up on what supplies I'll need and where to get them from? I have so much going on in my life but I need to start putting myself first. It's going to be a long journey to get to the point where I can TTC but I want to get there the right way. Any help truly grateful.
