Milly - it seemed to have worked for minimatron - they're now expecting boy number one after three girls! I haven't found out yet (and not sure if I will, too nervous) but we did try timing it for a girl.

I'm around... pre-TTC at the moment, trying to work our my cycle first and lose some of this weight :-)
Im ttc only half heartedly gender swaying but due to poor fertility.
We're not TTC but I want to start preconception care properly by next month. I think I'd like to try gender swaying but I'm not sure. I have two boys and I felt some gender loss for a girl but now I happily see us with three boys. Do you think swaying can bring up feelings of gender disappointment? I feel like I should give having a girl a whirl, but I don't want to be sad again if I don't have one.
Did anyone else follow this method too? There is no way I'll go on the "low everything" diet! My image of preconception care is high nutrient foods and this " low calorie, low protein, low fat diet with nutrient intake kept on the low side" is not for me. I thought it was all about ph and timing and what not but this website says to forget all that?
Meow i already think if we have another boy i will be gender disapointed, i think thats why i keep trying to convince myself that our next baby will be a boy, weve decided to start trying next month so that we can give ourself a hood chance at getting a girl and even if its a boy at least then i know we tried, even dh is on board, i went and bought calcium/magnesium/vitamin d supplements as well as cranberry supplements, we are some what following a low sodium low potasium diet and then we'll go with timing as well. Also going with the diluted sperm theory. So dh is happy with that one lol so dtd everyday after AF until 4/5 days before Oing,
Hi ladies!

DH and I talked about it, and we realised that we probably would end up with a girl (if you look at the swaying techniques for girl, we inadvertantly followed most of them), so if we just tried to change a few things it may or may not work, but not going to hurt to give it a go, and be prepared that its still a 50-50 throw of the dice. We'd be happy with a pink one, just that DH would be even happier with a blue one ;) Getting a bit over the TTC ATM though, so we would be happy with either - SOON!

I think that is where I'm at- we'll be happy either way but maybe it's worth doing just to see. I thought it over yesterday. I considered PGD and decided I don't want a girl that much. I really do see us with a boy so to ensure we have a girl seems too much for us. If we don't try gender swaying and have a boy though I guess I could be left wondering if perhaps we would have had a girl. I guess I've realised that I think I'll have less gender disappointment if we try swaying because then if we have a boy I'll know it was just meant to be :)
I know this is way to much info but has anyone tested their DH ph? We (him and I) where taking all the sups to lower ph and he was on alot and after 4 months of being on them I tested his ph sperm and it was so off the chart alkaline!! I was so disappointed I do feel like this is the reason we are conceiving boys lol I don't think there is any girl sperms in there, I wish I could do a test to see if it is 50/50 like people say. I don't know what to do any more I have given up even ttc because I'm to scared to even get pregnant.
FYM I have tested both DH and I with PH sticks and DH was very much nutral and me favoured girl environment which didn't surprise me as I have 3 daughters. I wouldnt douche as I have a tendancy to get bacterial vaginosis which has caused fertility problems for me so I dont want to get rid of my normal environment and changing my diet has not done a thing. I think I will have a 4th daughter.
Yes see I am natural to acidic and I have tried putting DH sperm in a container and used a special lime mix to favour the girl sperm but that hasn't worked. I have douched and did when I got pregnant last year but sadly that resulted in mc, so it made me think maybe the lime just had to do with it, but everyone said that once I was pregnant then there was no chance it could have been the reason.
I don't know any more maybe for me I think that if I got pregnant then I would have to deal with the outcome and I know I would love a ds anyway. I think it would be later that I will have the feelings back about wanting a dd.
Very hard situation it's it
FTY we started swaying for a boy with DD3 but after 3 pregnancy losses and 2years later and no baby we gave up (we actually gave up at around the 12month mark and just wanted to get pregnant) I didn't have any form of gender disappointment until DD3 was almost 2years old and then the desire to have a son became really strong which I had not ever experienced before. I was so delighted to be expecting a 3rd DD. We are ttc now but I just have this feeling its not going to happen. I'm abit like you in the fact I know my natural diet and body favours girls so when I get pregnant will have to accept the baby will most likely be another DD. Personally I would love another DD so thats not what I am concerned about its the fact that as it will be my last its my last opportunity to have a son. I'm sure I wouldn't have 5 children. I dont get pregnant easily and if and when number 4 comes along regardless of the gender I know that it will be it for various reasons. I could keep having babies as lng as my body will let me but our heads tell us there has to come a point when enough is enough.
I'm a little confused, it says in "the girl diet" post at the beginning to take these supplements every day until O but then at the bottom it says every day...
Supplements
Every day of the cycle
Calcium (1200 mg a day)
Magnesium (250 mg a day)
Acidilophis (2 a day)
B6 (100 mg a day) Take all the time, but when you get a bfp you need to ween off slowly- if you take 100 this means the next week you take 80, then the next week 60 then 40, 20, 10 then stop. This is taken to raise progestrone and legthen luteal phase. Side efffects: When taken before O it may dealy O. It will also legthen your luteal phase
Chasteberry (Vitex) (500 mg a day) this has progestrone so you need to treat it the same as you would with b6
Cranberry (total of 1,500 to 10,000 mg a day if possible) cranberry can not be taken after O as it can cause mc.
What do others think?
danielle - this is only my opinion re the supplements:
I took 1500-3000mg calcium as I was deficient. my calcium supplement has magnesium in it.
Cranberrry - I took 10000mg per day 20000 if I felt a UTI coming on as I had HEAPS of UTIs when TTC/pg with DD1, I didn't get so many (only one or 2) with DD2, but still took that dosage.
acidophilis - I took one a day
I didn't have success with vitex - I did get a BFP, but that ended in m/c,. I think that vitex taken at different times of the cycle does different things - for some people it is recommended to take until o, others after o, and others all the time - a naturopath would be able to explain better.
B6 is in alot of morning sickness supplements so I would imagine it would be OK to take as long as you didn't exceed that dose - I am taking it at present, for the whole of my cycle.
I have halved my calcium dose and have stopped taking cranberry (unless needed) as we are aiming for a blue one if we can!
hope that helps!
Thank you. Its nice to hear what people do in real life :)
Hi girls, we weren't TTC this time, but from a timing POV we've done exactly the right thing for a blue one this time. (Although we did that last time too...). I wonder what coming off such a run of illness did to my internal balance.
This one was clearly meant to be, but interested to see if my boy feelings this time might be right. ;)
So you are keeping it a surprise then Jennifer? Gosh your controlled :-) I'm not even pregnant and can't wait for my 20 week scan LOL
Oh goodness no, as soon as I have the scan we'll tell everyone! Only 8 wks in atm.
Our 12 wk u/s with DD2 did (correctly) indicate probably going to be a girl (place was doing an early gender prediction study), so maybe we will get an idea in a month.
Omg! Jen!!!!!! Hahahah! Woohoo! We are gonna ttc a boy in August! Woohoo for you! I hope you succeed! Do you normally find out? Weeeeeee! So excited for you!
So we are gearing up for a bit of ttc and want a little boy to brighten our lives as we have two gorgeous little girls. I won't be devastated if it doesn't work, but I would love a little boy. There are 6 grandies for my parents and all of them are girls. We want to start to ttc in August I think. But yeah.... Just wondering what methods people suggest? Shettles?? Want to buy an ovacue to help if we go that way, but also interested in ph etc and diets. Anyone?
Good luck, Bella! We used an ovulation kit when TTC DD2. Worked - we fell pg immediately. No good for us on the gender swaying, but we're a tough case. ;)
So have you done gender testing already Jen?
Not yet, u/s early August. Wouldn't guess at 12 wks. Darnit!
Lol! I was trying to work it out from my 12 week u/s, even tho I told them not to tell me. And I never did find out, with either. Not sure if I would with the next pregnancy....
In other news, mima asked me today if I could have a third baby. I asked did she want me to and she was adamant that she did! "Yes please mum!". "I want three babies!!" So I have told her we are thinking about it and will let her know if we get to have another baby. :). Just a bit cute.
Just thought I'd come on to let you all know we had a baby girl :) so for us the trying two or three days before ovulation worked!
Fantastic news!! Congratulations :D
That's awesome news!!
Afm, I am 9dpo atm. Testing in the morning!! I tested today and there was maybe a very faint pink line. But only if you held it in the right light and looked at it with a squint! Lol!! Dh said it was negative, lol!! Never mind! I am on holidays and one more day to drink cider in the uk excuse for summer is a bonus ;)
Anyone around in here at the moment? We are attempting to sway for a girl.
Bella and I are both pg atm. I don't think Bella knows whether their swaying efforts were successful yet.
We swayed when TTC #2 (unsuccessfully) and #3 was another whoopsie, so no swaying involved. We are going to have our third girl in January. We have no plans for #4, but no plans to permanently end our baby days, so I might be thinking about it in another few years. If three children don't completely wear me out!
What about you, Lady-bug?
Hi Jennifer, we have two boys and are going to be soon trying for our 3rd bubba (again, miscarriage about a month ago) so we are taking some supplements and will just use the timing method.
I can't believe how much info is out there it's all a bit much really! But really we want 3 babies and I don't mind who we get but I'll try a little for a pink one
Ladybug I found a forum dedicated to gender swaying called "gender dreaming". Those girls have it down to a science!! I had heaps of little things I could try to add to my sway. No idea if it was successful, but I am so tempted to find out. I have an nt scan next week. I might just ask for a clear nub shot if possible and we can try to guess for ourselves. I have never found out before. But hubby and I are struggling to contain the desire to know this time.
Thanks Bella, I will have a look. Oh there is no way I'm waiting to find out! I can't wait to find out and I'm not even pregnant yet!!
Lol! We just never have before is all. We have always enjoyed the surprise, so if we do decide to find out it will be a unique experience for us :).
Looks like I'm back to joining this thread... although more on a "pre" ttc.... so nervous
Danielle, go have a look at gender dreaming if you are pre ttc. They have absolutely reams of info over there. What gender are you ttc?
Ladybug, do you know what your baby's gender is? What were you trying for again?
We were successful in getting a little blue bundle, tho I must say, that until he is born and I can see him in the flesh, I will wonder....
Looks like it worked for us, we have been told we are having a pink one!! And I've had two scans just to be sure
I got the info off Gender dreaming, but too be honest it was very overwhelming so I don't think we followed it as much as some others do. We we taking lots of cranberry tabs, calcium and magnesium. But we were doing all of this, fell pregnant and lost that bubba, so when we were ttc this one we weren't taking any of it. I just wanted to be pregnant. So maybe it was timing of dtd or maybe there was still some of the vitamins in our systems.
Good luck Danielle!!
We are going to be trying for a little girl, and yes I have looked at gender dream just so much information and so hard to know what to follow and what not too... I have to correct my hormones first :/ which is just one more thing to add to the pile.
It's hard to know what information I am to follow, what to get DH to follow and what to ignore... I know timing is important but I'm a firm believer that the environment also plays a big part... looked briefly at the blue package requirements and that is my life to a T... and I have three boys... so it's a complete lifestyle change while we try... so much information and only so much will fit in and around everything else that my poor mind has to deal with...
I swayed for a girl with #3. I joined Gender Dreaming and even paid for a "personalised sway". I was very disappointed! Her advice was often contradictory and the eating plan (LE - low everything) was unhealthy and full of American crap foods not available here. When I pointed this out she got very defensive but gave me no more ideas of how to follow her "plan" . It also wasn't very personalised to me (I'm coeliac). So I ignored all the diet stuff and stuck to timing (basically Shettle's) - and I got my girl :D !!!
