Waiting for O or AF or BFP - i'm not fussy!

    Hi All,

I dont really fit into any of the other categories, because I have no idea where i'm at!
Finished the pill in early May and got a withdrawal bleed which was heavier than my normal "pill period" (sorry TMI.)

Used OPK around CD10 - 17 to find O - never got a positive or any kind of CM sign. AF was meant to arrive this weekend and hasn't shown herself.
And i tried a HPT and got a negative.

    Welcome to Limboland.

Does anyone know if i can start charting now? Or should i just keep waiting?

ahh limbo land....not my favourite place to be =P

how long have you been on the pill? were you regular before going on it? its normal for cycles to take a bit to work themselves out after being on the pill.

    hope something happens soon!!

    Hi Teirae,

I was on the pill for 8-9 years without a break.
From what i remember i was very regular before going on the pill and had 28 cycles - also had AF while on the pill and i could give you the date and time she would show herself.
    Now i'm just lost!

It is very confusing, try not to strees yet (i know i know...easy to say =P) I was on the pill for about 6 or so years, with like a couple of month break in there somewhere. I had no idea what my cycles were before hand.. but for the 2 years my cycles were crazy, long and irregulare (between 32-40 days). It was literly right on the 2 year mark they started becoming regular and now are about 30-32 days.
everyone is different!! but thats just my experience.

ps. welcome to BB and the crazy insane world of TTC =)

Ahh hullo, I am in limboland too! I'm still bf my DS who is almost 12mths, no sign of AF here either. No idea where in my cycle I am. Tried an opk just for kicks, negative.

Just wish I knew where I was so I could plan stuff! Frustrating hey!

hey! I finally found some people who are the same as me! I went off the pill early march and still waiting for O or AF or BFP. I'm not fussy either - just want to know my body is not screwed up from taking the pill for 10 years.

definately start charting i say. i chart on fertility friend as do alot of ladies on this site. its a great way to get to know your body. it seems a little frustrating at first, but when you see the pattern of your chart emerging over several weeks, it can give you clues as to when you ovulated. (you can see mine in my signature. i didn't start charting straight away after coming off the pill but do it every day now). i just take my temp every day. was trying the whole CM thing but found it a bit difficult so just sticking to the oral temping.

is this your first time TTC? come to the TTC 1-6 month thread.

    welcome to BB.

    Hey Ladies ,

I too came off the pill last August and had the most irregular periods. 70 days, 40 days, 60 days, 100 days. I ended up going to a FS and he said I have PCOS (which as I have looked up can be a consequence of the pill). He said to go on Clomid but I have decided to try some "natural" options first. I have been using Chinese Medicine (incorporates acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping and herbs) twice a week for 4 weeks and I am so excited because my charting has shown that I have ovulated and should be getting AF on Friday or BFP. I have noticed my hormones have changed a lot, more like back to normal. I really think its working for me because I know the pill really messed my system up. Might be worth a shot…

Hi I'm new on here and am so reassured to find others out there in the same situation!! I went off the pill at the end of March, had a withdrawal bleed, then nothing till July. I have never been so relieved to see AF haha. So not really sure how long my cycle is yet.

    Has anyone had any progress?

    Good luck everybody!

    Hi girls,

I was on the pill without a break for about 8-9 years, and I found it really screwed me up!

My periods were all over the place, I started having PMS and couldn't work out what the heck was going on with my emotions, and I swore I would never touch the pill ever again! I haven't taken it since 2005 (age 34) and my cycles have never recovered. I can go anywhere from 28 to 31 days, where once I could set my watch to a 28 day for 5 days. I guess now the best thing is I only go 4 days, but it hits with such vengence I don't think it would make it to 5 days! lol

I was suspected of having PCOS but my oestrogen levels were all normal, and I already take meds for diabetes that they use for PCOS and pregnancy anyhow, because I have diabetes, which is the reason they told me I had PCOS.

I totally understand though guys what the pill does over long term to periods so Im with you there. Give it some time, and certainly, if you periods don't seem to be getting in any kind of rhythm, you might be able to quiz your GP about the success rates of a curette just to have a good clean out that might even trigger the body back into gear??? I sure wish I had have!

I don't mean to dampn your spirits, but just a perspective incase you want to examine it further with your GP if troubles persist.

    Take Care

    Mejane.

    Hey,

Dont have a whole lot of advice on the Pill, but I recently had my implanon implant out. I had it in for 6 years. I only ever got AF every 3months whilst on it.

When the doctor took it out I asked him about it and he said that it would be out of my system within 24hour and that I can technically get preggo that night if things go right. I had no idea where I was at as I had just finished AF in the days before implant was removed.

However, the doctor did say that the pill was different because it takes longer to come out of your gastro system.

In the end I just used OPK from 14 days after my AF started before I have the implant removed and I managed to find my O after about 2 test kits later hehe.

Good Luck and Hopefully you will get something happening with your body soon to give you some insight as to where you are in your cycle
