    what are the chances...? *UPDATE*

Thsi may seem like a silly question, but I thought I would put it out there for any feedback, comments or peopl'es own experience...

DP and I use withdrawal method. My last AF started 24/05/10. I have a 28 day cycle, reckon I ovulate around CD13/14 (but I am guessing, I dont temp or anything, and I don't know much about my CM). SO I am expecting AF on either 20/06 or 21/06/10.

DP and I BD'ed around O time (5/6 and 6/6) but he pulled out in time. We BD'ed on 12/06 and he came inside, good and proper!

Sooooooo.... what are the chances of conception?? My fingers are crossed, as they are every month! We aren't trying, but I would love to fall PG any old time. Has anyone conceived like this? If I am pregnant, it would mean I had my chart waaaaaay off.

    Thanks in advance BB'ers

    Hi,

I guess if you were using the withdrawal method you could fall pregnant at any time as this is not a reliable method on contraception at all...
If you want to fall pregnant why don't you just bd as normal all the time???

Yeah, that would make sense, wouldn't it?! We aren't "trying", it's more of a "if it happens it happens" situation. Kind of like russian roulette. Not in the optimal space for a pregnancy and child, but I am more open to that life-changing stuff than DP. He will be up for it for sure, we have talked about it, but as I am the main breadwinner for the us ATM while DP starts his home business, the financial odds are against us. I don't really mind though, we always make it through.

We will see, AF due on Saturday/Sunday, will test if she hasn't shown by Monday.

Thanks for responding Maggiepie. I guess I probably knew the answer anyways before I posted...

    what are the chances.... *UPDATE*

OK, so I thought I would update where I am at for those who may have similar situations in the future...

I am on CD 30. AF is now 3 days overdue. Since last Thursday I have had sore swollen boobs and slight cramping on and off until yesterday. Yesterday I had really light brown discharge (only when wiping) and loads of wet CM. I've been peeing like crazy and felt mildly queasy. I've been tired but not exhausted and have been sleeping only about 6 hours and I wake at 3am and can't get back to sleep. And my dreams have been incredibly vivid and weird... And no AF to be seen!

So I am going to wait until CD 35 (one week overdue) to POAS, give myself a few more days to have a period even though I have never had a cycle this long, I haven't had any stress or sudden changes in diet and exercise, and my cycles have been 27 days long for the past 6 months (I looked back and double checked).

Chatted with DP last night and he is pretty excited about the possibility, even though we weren't trying at all. And I have been trying to figure out when I O'ed... I guess it doesn't matter really

    Congrats
I was going to say I wouldn't rely on pullout, even if you didn't have a slip up.
We concieved back in 03 using that method & didn't have any accidents! Needless to say we never relied on it again!
