What could cause pains from ovulation until AF????

    Hi,
Just curious if anyone knows what can cause AF like pain from a few days post ovulation until AF comes?? The pain varies from dull to quite bad and sometimes stabbing on both sides around the ovary area. I also feel ovulation quite strongly. AF arrived again today and woke me at 3am with not my usual period pain but a sharp stabbing pain in my right ovary. I stopped the pill beginning of november and we have been TTC since. I actually went to my GP at the end of my first cycle as i had these constant pains, pretty much every day, all day. They did an ultrasound and said all looked fine and the corpeous lutem(sp.?) showed i had ovualted. Since then the pain has been there each cycle but not as bad as this last cycle, i have been unable to move sometimes this month, it takes my breath away. Any thoughts or similar experiences??? I will book back into the doc this coming week anyway.
    Thanks in advance.

There's a name for the pain you get when you ovulate; mischelwurtz or something? It's a german name. That's all I can think of but if you're talking AFTER ovulation contuing up until AF then I'm stumped!

I get pain from 0 until AF when I hae a cyst on my ovary. Usually they come up one month and stay there for at least 2 cycles before they disappear. But they show up clearly on US - howeer I usually don't get them US until cycle 2-3 so maybe they aren't visable in that first month??? Could just be because your body is getting back into the swing of ovulating?
