Hi babi.... well that does seem strange that the doc got a negative on a HPT after you got 2 positives. I cant offer any thoughts about whether you would be or not but I do hope the blood test results come back positive for you!

All the best & good luck tomorrow

    babi_gurl,

What brand did you use at home? I've read in some posts that people have had false positives with Foretel Ultra (I think).

Try not to stress over it. Just wait for the bt results and then you'll know for sure.

Good luck - wishing you a

I've heard that the doctor clinic tests are not as sensitive as some of the HPTs out there, so maybe you are pregnant, but just haven't got enough hcg in your system to register on the doc's test. Was the blood test you did quantitative?

Is there any signs or symptoms that I should be looking out for??

Did you use the same brand tests both times at home? It could be that the tests were not very reliable and both gave false positives ? It is just as likely though that the doctors was not realiable and thats why it was negative.

I see alot of people seem to get false positives, is this perhaps because of testing to early and the pregnancy not taking ? I have heard that this is actually quite common and that is only because we have the technology to test early that we now know this ?

Either way hope you get your BFP, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

    babi_gurl,

I think First Response HPTs are supposed to be ok. I think just wait for the bt now.... only a few more hours. Then hopefully you'll know for sure one way or the other. I agree with LuLuLamby it may be possible that the tests you did at home picked up a very early chemical pregnancy and that by the time you got to the doctor the hCG levels had dropped giving you a -ve result there OR that the doctor's tests weren't sensitive enough.

Good luck tomorrow - let us know how you go!

Babi, im keeping my fingers crossed for you, i think too that the test at the drs may not be as sensitive as the ones you are using. Good luck and keep us posted

    Congratulations, Babi_gurl!

I've read a few times in various threads about the urine pregnancy tests that the doctors get you to do coming up negative or near enough to it so that they say to come back in a week! My last pg, the doctor said it was "only just" showing pg. But the blood test was very positive. And this happened to another friend who gave birth to a gorgeous little boy two weeks ago!

Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!!

    Wow congratulations.
I was told that if u get a bfp then you're pregnant and if you get a bfn you still might be.
Although u can get false positives so I'm really no help, lol.
    Anyway, congratulations, how exciting!!
