we've set heaps of dates! Stuff keeps happening to prevent it! My DF I think has cold feet - his parents never married and I don't think he really wants to take the plunge. Last date we set was January of this year and we had to cancel because my boss refused me leave (i only wanted 7 days off!) because it was during the school holidays and she wanted to take that time off herself!!! So we had to cancel it! I've stopped trying to name the date... when it's meant to happen it'll happen (she says hoping she's right... I already have a $3500 dress!!)
-
Oh really? cold feet? I hope he doesn't...well it is hard picking a date and a year... we got engaged Nov 05, and we are marrying Sept 07 so that's nearly 2 yrs! It took us a good 6mths to actually pick a date... we tossed up dates here and there and i finally chose one and stuck with it! DF had no choice! he's happy with it though...
we just have the cake and the flowers to organise yay!! :P
I guess you two have to work out what's more important for you? baby first? or wedding first? We chose the wedding first! :)
And baby.... very close to it!!!!!!!!!
-
omg, i had to work today and I missed so much!! I can't believe it. It was so bad not being able to go on bellybelly when I was there. I think I am seriously addicted.
Renstar- soz about the bfn, but as you say you are not dissapointed so that is an awsome attitude.
Keira- congrats on the girl!! omg how exciting. I really want a girl but I think I'm going to have a boy, I just have a feeling, I have 4 brothers. Anyway that is so exciting for you now you can buy so many cute little outfits and ribbons and bows...
Spuddle- hope u get a bfp soon too!!
-
I think my DF really thought of getting engaged as a promotion in our relationship!! He keeps having moments where he wants to and moments where he's just not sure! We know we want to be together, so it's about that. I haven't put marriage as a condition on our relationship, so if it happens that would be wonderful, if it doesn't, the kids have my name!! I'm not carrying them for 9 months and then giving birth to them, only to have affiliation to them on paper!! No way!!! They will have my name! We can hyphenate it if he wants, but I'm not missing out on that!
I really want the wedding first, but I have a sneaking suspcion that we'll end up getting pregnant, packing my wedding dress and eloping! I'd really like to elope to gretna green :) I woudln't be able to tell Mom and Dad though - I'm their only daughter and it would crush them if i didn't have them at my wedding (it'd crush me too, but I'd rather be married and not have my family know than not be married and have everyone know!)
Does that sound silly?
-
nope, its not silly... you do whatever feels right for you! We thought of eloping but it was just too hard in the end and worked out to be too expensive!!! (Maldives!!) so yeah, we are having a beach wedding (at gold coast outside DF's folks place) and very very excited about it... can't wait! Two things to look forward to, (two big things!), getting married and falling pregnant, hopefully the pregnant part happening straight after the wedding :) it would be nice...
but i'm realistic and know that it may take a few months...
I think you really want a baby first, so you should go for that! ;) best wishes with a BFP soon.. i hope you get one soon... no doubt we'll be following each other around similar threads if we are both TTC!
Hey SaraJane!! :) Where have you been woman?!?!??!?!?! hehehe yeah its addictive alright......
-
No, that's not silly spuddles.
If that what you want.
Have u talked to DF about u really wanting to get married? Maybe he just doesn't think it's as big of a deal as you do and u need to tell him how much it means to you. Just a thought?? I know my DH was not as excited about getting married, etc as I was. He really was excited, he just hadn't been dreaming about it his whole life like me, lol.
-
I know, I have been hanging out to get on here. Got on as soon as I got home, lol.
Ooh, neighbours! I'm off again, lol.
-
You girls are so cute!! I can't wait for when you both announce you're preggo and then really go crazy with the shopping!!!!
Renee, i've been very naughty and bought heaps already, and only pink stuff!! I couldn't help it!! I just had a feeling it was a girl anyway, and i thought i can always give them to a friend or save them for the next bubs! But my mum and my grandma have bought HEAPS of neutral stuff, but now that they know it's a little princess i'm sure it will all be pink!
Oh i forgot too, because we went to a private ultrasound clinic, we had to pay $250 upfront, which is no big deal, and the receptionist told us we'd get $85 back from medicare, so i went into medicare today and we got $217 back!!!! So it really only cost us $33!!!! How's that!! I was shocked because i called RPA public hospital and the lady told us we couldn't get in until end of August!! Through the private one i got in within 2 days! And we got the dvd and photos and a baby sample pack showbag! Can you tell i've just had the BEST day ever!!!
-
Oh no Renee ya cant get rid of Jasper!
i would be at work and our neighbour (she was a little old lady) would ring me and tell me Roxi was over there house again, i dont think she was to impressed!!! i felt so bad but there wasnt anything i could do cos i was at work.
-
Oh you know how you asked about positions and more likely to have a girl or boy etc... well, this is probably WAY TMI so sorry!!! But, DP and i usually have our "regular" positions (it's been 3 years!) and when we conceived we were in a totally different position to normal, so apparently if the girl doesn't orgasm AND the guy is on top and he ejaculates "shallow" you are way more likely to have a girl! Hey, it worked for us!!!! :D
Sorry for the TMI... but if you're dead set on having a girl you should try that!
-
DF knows how much it all means to me. I honestly believe that we'll get there. I've had psychics tell me will and I just have a feeling. He's never really let me down before, so I think it's going to happen. "Put it out there" and all that!
I think that when I fall pregnant, he'll realise how important it is (at least I hope so - he has such a cool last name too dammit! It's so medieval!!)
I can't wait to knit booties and shop online for maternity clothes and little teeny weeny baby things! Awwww I'm so excited! It has to happen soon! Maybe next month when we are both feeling better! Maybe it'll happen in celebration of a new job for DF!
-
YAY, i hope you're preg too next month Spuddles! Fingers crossed!!
-
Keira CONGRATS on your Princess!! Girls up first are the beeeeeeeeeeeeeest :)
As for all the others... u guys talk toooo much... i was away all day and had so much to catch up on!
-
Ouch! My boobs are still sore... :crying: and no sign of AF.... grrr i am getting so angry now!!!
i just want something to happen! Anything!!..... have a nice night ladies!
-
Thanks Kim!!! Yeah i wondered where you were today!
You realise you're wishing for AF Renee!! I reckon if it goes any longer, get a blood test!! I think you're 4 days over now, tomorrow it will be 5? I was 8 days over before i tried my first hpt, and it was bfp. Maybe you tested too early!! Anyway, have a good night too!
xox
-
oh Keira, how did you wait 8 days to do the test?? I would test again 2moro but i don't have any left! :crying: I'll be able to test Sat a.m so let you know then... (promise!)..
Tomorrow I will be 4 days late... hhhmm..... still feel slightly nauseous but it's not as bad as after b'fast today... i'm not wishing for AF, I'm just wishing for some news! AF or BFP (preferably BFP please!!) I spoke to DF before and he said "do you think you are pregnant?" and I said "well, possibly might be, have to wait..." and his eyes kinda lit up! It was so cute.. but i told him not to get excited as i probably am not...
I bet Kim was sleeping ALL day... she said she went back to bed at 9am! hehe
Keira, i'm so happy for you that you had the best day EVER... you deserve it chicky!! :P and you're having a BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!! :stork-girl:
-
LOL at Kim sleeping all day!
I actually didn't know to wait a bit, but my period had been pretty regular (plus or minus a day or two) and it was never that late, no matter how stressed i was, and i told DP that i was late and he kept saying oh you can't be pregnant!! And then at day 8 i said my period still hasn't come!!! And he just went and bought me a hpt and i did it straight away at 3pm and two lines came up! I knew it was pos+!
So i reckon you should just wait a few more days and if that b1tch hasn't turned up yet do another hpt!!!! Hehehe, i mean AF!
Thanks Renee, that means a lot to me!! xoxox
-
[QUOTE=keira_25;812766]
So i reckon you should just wait a few more days and if that b1tch hasn't turned up yet do another hpt!!!! Hehehe, i mean AF!
haha you crack me up :P
that's what DF says to me most of the time "nah, you won't be pregnant" hehe I think they just say it so we stop worrying all the time! I'm a shocker tho, cos whenever my AF is late (never this late!) I say "thats it i must be preg then!" hehe
Enjoy the rest of your night... crack open the non-alcoholic champagne with your DP! Woohoo!! See ya!
-
haha too cute babe
I've already scoffed a celebratory pizza to myself!! hehehe, and now off to watch my baby girl on her dvd and eat chocolate!
xox
-
thanks for the tip about making baby girls keira!
Will have to test that theory out, lol, not that you needed to know that.
renee, 4 days late tomorrow, wtf, something weird is going on, i wish we'd just find out what it is!! lol.
I hope I get pregnant soon. This thread is making me super excited, I can't wait!
-
haha, we'll see if you have a girl SaraJane, then we'll know how you did it!!
I can't wait too!! The race is on! Just kidding. It will happen at the right time for both of you, and it will be the best feeling in the world seeing that :bfp: - the wait, and all those symptoms will be sooo worth it!
-
Sorry to interupt...but in etc. Just had to say hi to Spuddle. Can't believe you're from Newman. I'm in port Hedland...practically your neighbour!! Well sorta kinda...:D
-
LOL i slept til 1130am.. then Chelsea and me went to a friends til 630pm.. only left cos had to pick DH up from train station!!
I got no idea how i made Chelsea.. think somewhere along the line i mis-calculated days cos we had *planned* for a boy.... :P
-
Oh my god Beaksie!!! We ARE neighbours!!!!! Helloooooooooooooooo!!!! That is just SO DAMNED COOL!!!!! I tell you what, being up here, I definitely feel the odd one out... everyone here has children or is pregnant! You hardly ever see a woman in town here who isn't pregnant. Apparently we have the highest birth rate statistically in Australia - and you can't give birth here... wtf!!!!!
Are you/your partner in the mines? That's why I'm up here... or at least my DF WAS in the mines, til he resigned last week!! Chat soon ;)
-
There must be something in the red dirt... wish I'd catch it...
-
Hey Spuddle
You're right about the pregnacy thing. I've actually got an 11 mth old, but just had a miscarriage (my 3rd), and I swear to god all I see around this place is big bellied women! I actually brought this up at Play group and the response-nothing better to do up here, which is kind of true! My fiance and I have been here for 2 and half years (approx 2yrs too long), and we're actually hoping to go home to Vic in December. Hoping it's before or skin turns a perm shade of red from the ore dust(lol). He works for Telstra, and Im a SAHM.
Wondered...do you have to come to Hedland to have a baby, or will you go to Perth?:)
-
Saturday!!?? NNNNNOOOOO! ;)
How cruel is that. In the U.S. its only Thursday so not sure, I think you guys all reach Saturday before I do but I'm not sure. Your killing me here! lol. Well good luck.
OH, and with the discussion of trying to select the sex of the child, my understanding is this (more than position): Timing - You are basically potentially fertile for about a week based on the possible life expectancy of sperm (up to 5 days). So, since the girly swimmers are a bit stronger and can live longer, you try like mad early in your week of fertility while abstaining around ovulation days to increase the odds of the little girly swimmers reaching the egg before the little bubs do! And if you want a little bub, you abstain early on and work extra hard right around ovulation. Neither will prevent a sex, but the theory being both ways impact the odds. I believe the little bubb swimmers are faster so increased odds near ovulation then before.
Personally we were going to try that with our last attempted pg, but she had Finlay decided she was going to try again and to be honest, I'm a sucker for a fertile wife and the prospect of making her pg ;) so we worked very hard all but one day of the fertile week and we still had a boy (YA)!
-
Keira, how did you go last night? :P How was the dvd?
Still no sign of AF.... no cramps... nothing.... geez :wall: might have to make a trip to see the :doctor: on monday if I still have nothing! I'm also finding it hard to sleep so was up 1hr earlier today as it's playing on my mind.... if you are pregnant, don't you sleep more?? (tired etc?)
 i cannot believe how large this thread has become! I think we might be asked to start our own group thread up soon with the rate of posting that we are doing!!!! :P
-
Hi Beaksie,
We've been up here only 6 months. I've actually enjoyed it mostly - I have a full time job, I'm fullfilling my dream of writing for the local paper (I've always wanted to be a writer) and I'm running a netball team (although I'm a basketballer at heart and so I'm finding netball a bit sissy... however, all good in the name of weightloss!!!). Oh and it's 12 hours away from my in-laws (Perth)!! Is that too wicked??!!
I do miss civilisation though. I'd love a kmart and a maccas (to cancel out the netball no doubt!) like PH has. I'm not sure I could live in PH though... it's very different to Newman. I'm from over east too originally - Albury Wodonga. I went to uni in Melbourne (Monash at Clayton).
I had what the doctor reckons was a chemical pregnancy last month and I had two of them last year, so I do feel your pain with the whole pregnancy thing. I don't know why, though, I just feel like it's going to happen VERY soon for us. I'm very excited.
I think we'll leave Newman at Christmas time (if DF can't find another local job, maybe before!) and head back over east. Orange, Newcastle of Brissy sounds good (mining!). DF wants to get his civilian equivalent of his cert IV in OH&S (he was military and he did their course) and become and OH&S manager and then perhaps a consultant. HOpefully that will increase our options in a move over east! All my family are over there.
I'd prefer to go to PH to have a baby than Perth, simply because there's no way I'm living with my inlaws for the month prior. NO WAY HOSE!!!! If we move over east at Christmas, that'd be way better coz I wouldn't have to worry about it then!
Sorry for this being so
-
long. lol - i forgot to finish the sentence!
-
OH and I totally agree about the group thread thing - I think you guys all rock and would love to stay in contact with you all!!
-
You should ALL move to Melbourne!! :P
-
haha... much better shopping in melbourne than in Newman no doubt! I lived there for 3 years... mmmmmmmm chadstone..... I had withdrawal symptoms for 2 years after I moved!
-
LOL we moved from NSW in October last yr... i prefer it here!!!!
-
Howdy... I really enjoyed it up here too for the 1st year. Pretty much partied the whole time, and had a ball. I've found it very isolating since having my daughter though, it makes it hard when all your friends are at work, and I actually like my in laws (crazy as it seems) so I miss eveyone at home. Writing for the papewr sounds cool. Thats something I tried to get into up here too, but missed out. Bugger it!
-
Was hoping to stay in here and chat for a bit, but my little girl is eating a book as I type, so I'd better go. Will try again tonight. Seeyas
-
Ok Beaksie. My DF has hijacked my computer so I'm being very naughty and feeding my addiction to this thread (yes, I know) while I'm at work... very very sneaky...
I can imagine it would be isolating not being at work everyday, surrounded by people. My mom said that when I was a baby, she used to crave adult conversation.
-
Kimbaz - my aunt and uncle live in park orchards in melbourne. Is that near Narre Warren? I know that place for some reason...
I'm a bit scared about being pregnant in Newman to be honest because of the lack of facilities (we have a bit of a dodgy hospital and two horrid doctors. Well, one horrid one, I haven't been to the other one yet!). I'm a bit soppy about personal stuff though and don't ever really want to be examined by a male doctor. Unless I'm in the throughs of labour and in that case I can't imagine I'll give a sod!No female docs at all. A week and a half wait to get in to see a doctor at an appointment (rather than open surgery where you can wait up to 2 hours to see someone. I actually had to wait two hours to see a doctor on thurs for my asthma!!). Ick... bring on civilisation! I think that if... no WHEN... I get pregnant up here, my DF and I will take mini break trips to PH for me to see a doc there.
-
aah hhhmmm... are we all forgetting the purpose of this thread ladies???!!! (kidding!) I STILL don't have AF.... I really am starting to believe that I am now PREGNANT!!!!! I am hoping so now, the more and more i consider it the more and more i am getting my hopes up!! (thats a bad thing probably)... I also feel quite "wet" down there (sorry TMI!!!) but like that feeling you get around ovluation time... you know what i mean? it's not "dry" down there (how embarrassing sorry)
I'm getting a blood test Monday. still no cramping (normally i get heaps just before AF and on AF) and my boobs are still sore!!! Funny tingly sensations in my abdomen too?? Weird eh? And then all of a sudden I felt like throwing up and then it went (lasted about 2mins)..... ??????? what is it?
I'm disappointed in you girls (haha kidding) cos i was up at 6:30am this morning typing away!!!!!! and you were all in bed fast asleep :asleep: speaking of which.... that sounds like a nice idea....
-
Renee - i'm worried for you... please don't get your hopes up! You sound like you are putting yourself under some stress thinking about it so much and that can hold off the period. I think it's more than likely your body is getting used to coming off the pill.. you might even be ovulating now!
You aint gonna get pg if your DF just put it in iykwim... If his pre-cum contained semen (because you had sex earlier and he still hadn't pee'd) well you could, but if he just thrusted for a bit and didn't actually come to an end without a raincoat i just don't see how it's possible.. unless the raincoat broke?
ETA - when you guys DTD without the raincoat, were you O'ing?
