    The whole "timing" thing..

Just another question on the whole boy Vs. girl thing..

"They say" that if you DTD before you O then its more than likely you get a girl as the girl sperm lives longer.. and if you DTD after you O just once, youre more than likely to get a boy as the boy sperm swims faster.

So my question is, has this proven to work, or not work, for those who know when bubs was conceived?

I know that at the end of the day its really a 50/50 chance either way, but just curious.

    TIA!

I've read that you are unlikely to get pregnant at all if you wait until after O to bd so I don't think that theory will work. The sperm needs to be up waiting for the egg so therefore you need to have done it prior to O in order for them to meet in time.

There are lots of studies out there to read up on about this info.

I got a girl with a 3 day cut off (not on purpose) and I also got a girl when BDing the night b4 O (I O'd early in the morning). I have seen a lots of Shettles opposites...

Also I have read a study from NZ that says obstaining for more than 4 days gives a higher percentage of X sperm (opposite to what Shettles advises). So for instance if you were thinking of giving the O+12 a shot your partner would have to obstain for more than 4 days before your attempt... a one shot deal! It can be very involved and hard to understand!
