Hello ladies, hubby and i have decided to go for baby #3 and as the above title suggests i am going to have an xray done on my jaw for dental reasons, we are not pregnant atm but are trying and i dont ovulate for another 2 days or more...should we just give this month a miss or does anyone know what the complications might be, i have tried searching and have found nothing really, a few have suggested covering the ovaries etc during the procedure..has anyone had an xray before or just after ovulation not knowing that they were or were pregnant in the early stages and did it affect you..
Dental xrays are fine. I had one when I was 16wks pregnant. They are focused on a small area away from the stomach and apparently they dont emit loads of radiation so I was told. You should be right.
When we were TTCing I fell rather badly and it was thought I had broken my tailbone. Because we were in the 2WW the x-ray place made us wait until we knew for certain before they would scan me. The radiographers I spoke to said that they personally wouldn't take the risk.
But saying that, that x-ray was right near the important bits, and like Freya said dental ones don't emit that much radiation.
Can you ring the place that you are booked into to check?
