I don't think I am ovulating but I do have a distinct temp rise mid cycle when I would expect to ovulate. I am just wondering if with annovulation can you still expect to see a temp rise or should it stay below the coverline?
Cheers in advance
Why don't you think you are ovulating? A sustained temp rise in your chart is the best way to tell that you have ovulated, short of blood tests or ultrasounds.
The only reason I think I am not ovulating is because I have always had very painful ovulation. I have aches for a day or so leading up to ovulation then very intense stabbing pain in the ovary for about an hr then aches again for another few hours when I do ovulate. In the past 12months I have only had it like this 3times and twice I have fallen pregnant but m/c. I was thinking that perhaps I am not ovulating regularly. I was due to O over the weekend and I didn't experience any discomfort but have had a temp rise this morning. I wasn't sure if I could O without the pain. I have seen a FS who said becuase I have being pregnant twice in the past 10month that there was no need to test to see if I am ovulating. I feel I do but not every cycle.
Thank you both Sally and AJP for your response. I am wondering if its worth having a BT to see if I am ovulating.
Em.
If you go for a BT... try do it closeish to CD20.. i was lucky to be on CD20 when i had mine as my GP said its done on CD21... so i was able to get it done. She was able to tell me at the results that i was approx 10DPO.. which was close to spot on.. that was due to the hormonal values in my blood.
I also had a relitively pain free O this month too... only a small amount of rounded dicomfort in my pelvis... but i had pos OPKs... otherwise i wouldnt have thought i O'ed either.
Sounds like oyu are ovulating to me!!
Ovulation pain does not always occur and sometimes it may be before or even after ovulation. So if the only reason you feel you aren't ovulation is the lack of ovulation pain then I would rely more on your temp rise. Your temp will only rise and remain that was until menses after ovulation due to the presence of progesterone produces by the corpus luteum (empty egg follicle).
