not really sure what to buy: alternative to Thermomix

I have never really been one to get into kitchen stuff - especially if its expensive! my mum cooked everything on the stove growing up so figured just to suck it up!

anyway i went to a thermomix demo last night and fell in love with it! its far far out of my price range and i am not sure i would use it to its full capacity anyway but have been trying to work out the best alternatives.

I love the thought of making my own bread, butter, dips, spreads, pastes etc as i am not keen on some of the poo in the shop ones but not sure if i would use a thermomix for hot meals as much as i should so cant justify the price. i know there are cheaper options out there (bellini/THhermochef) but not sure if i would need something like this or just a simple food processor for what i want to do?? Put it this way, the only blender i own is a $10 hand stick so i am way out of my depth!

    TIA

im not sure if you know but you can get thermomix on payment plans....

but ive read a lot about the bellini and all i hear is bad things, constant issues, but havent herd anything bad with the thermochef.

it does come in handy being able to cook a risotto or a bolognaise sauce in it because you dont need to stand there stirring it, the machine does it for you

I have a vitamix and I love it. A high powered blender like a vitamix or blendtec are great options to do a fair range of thermomix stuff.

I have a thermie but have heard from a lot of people with bellinis. Although they do break often they also seem to repair/replace promptly while under warranty.

I think it depends a bit on what you want to chop - if you want to make sorbets or mill grains then I'd be looking for the most powerful/expensive processor you can afford. But if you only want to make dip/chop veggies than a $200-300 food processor would probably be fine.

I'm getting my thermomix tomorrow (so excited lol), but I have a food processor and it does all the things you want (except I'm not sure if it makes butter, I've never tried).

I checked them out and wasn't crazy about them. Instead I chose to get a really good quality food processor/blender/juicer and a 5 in 1 multicooker. Between those two I've pretty much got it covered. I spent about $500. The pressure cooker function is ace. I do also have a bread maker though...

All you need to make butter, is cream and a whisk. A normal stand mixer will do the job.
