Our kettle is 14 years old. It's a Fissler stainless steel (18/10 ie good quality) stove top. I love it. Paid $180 for it and have used it every day at least 3 times, usually about 5. the problem is that because it has a wooden handle over the top it has been scorched (mainly by visitors who turn up the flame too high so that it licks up the side of the kettle. I see a day soon where the handle will come off rendering it unusable.

What I want to know:

What type of kettle do you have?
How old is it?
What type of kettle would you buy next time (regardless of price)

I have seen some nice Kitchen Maid ones around. I will stay with stove top ones as I like them... love to be able to make a cuppa during a blackout etc. We also hope to one day own an Aga stove. Plus I don't like too many cordy appliances on my benches LOL

Love vintage looking ones too.

All suggestions appreciated!
