I added 600g Chicken
About 300-400g vegetables
A whole 400ml can of Coconut Cream and a splosh of hot water.
Chicken Powder instead of Vegetable Powder
Brown Sugar (tastes more like palm sugar which is the traditional ingredient)

If using breast let it rest for a good 20 minutes in the thermoserver so that when you take it out the chicken should be just cooked (even a tiny bit pink in the middle) by the time the 20 minutes is up it's cooked through but not dry. If using thigh it will be perfect as it's not as thick.

The vegetables I used were Eggplant, carrot, snow peas, zucchini.

1 green chilli deseeded for less heat for the babies ;)

So I went to a demo last week and am veering towards getting one as I'm getting increasingly disgruntled every time I have to get the chopping board out (and wash it). Particularly loved the beetroot salad she made. Is it silly to spend $2K so you can make a beetroot salad? Man, I love beetroot.

I was a little concerned that her mushroom risotto was really bland and I reckon it's because the TMX didn't fry the mushrooms so not as much flavour. What are people's thoughts? I'm a savoury girl, not really a dessert girl, so would mainly be cooking dinners in it (as well as anything with beetroot :) )

It's moreso because they make everything basic. With the TMX I use recipes tried and true with a method that works with the TMX and it comes out perfect every time.

The risotto could easily be bland, like any risotto. I had a demo yesterday, she added some dried, previously chopped (in tmx) mushrooms as well. Added some body an flavor. Was fantastic. I was home late, kids were hungry, i whipped up the apricot chicken, a risotto style, it was so quick and everyone loved it. Honestly it was as easy and quick as toasted sandwiches I reckon!

It's a convenience thing for me. I can more easily make things. Sure I can make a custard on the stove top, but I need to measure it weigh everything, slowly add the liquid and stir constantly so it's not lumpy. So much easier in the TMX, I weigh it all in and press go. I had the dishes done by the time dessert was ready and all without additives and preservatives. :-)

ive had my thermo since december and i love it more and more everyday!

its looking like it will be getting a whole new level of working out as DH is being tested for a lot of gut issues, gluten being the main issue we think and wheat being a possiblity as well.

so if anyone has some good recipes please share them so i can make things for DH

i made spag bol sauce tonight and some sorbet. I didn't know what to do with myself while my thermo (needs a name) was doing all the work. So i cleaned up. unheard of. What's everyone else cooking?
Thinking about what should i cook for a dinner party? probably 8 peeps..... hmmmmmmm

I recently tried making a lemon meringue roulade. Bit of a fail on the meringue. Still edible but I couldnt get stiff peaks, they were soft. I had planned to do the meringue in the Kenwood, but I ran out of time. I havent used it ages. Still, the TMX was brilliant for making the lemon curd and then cream.

Otherwise we use TMX to steam vegies all the time. We've worked out timing for things a bit better. I even use it to steam sausages & vegies when I have the CBFs and dont have the energy to fry the sausie :) Just pop in the Varoma and walk away.

For a dinner party, you could try Indian or Thai curry with rice. Or salmon steaks with vegies and a sauce. Just practice using the Varoma beforehand.

I need to start meal planning properly. I'm thinking of a TMX challenge - how many meals can I make in TMX in a week, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

crumpet - how is your DH's testing going? there's some GF recipes on the forum, and there's also a GF recipe book too if you need to stick with the diet. I find I can get by with a lot of substituting with normal recipes too.

I made a potato & spinach soup the other day, was yum, so quick & easy. Am going to try sweet potato & spinach soup tomorrow. Mmm soup weather. Have also been frothing lots of milk for lattes lol. Expensive milk frother. Bwahahaha.

I made such a good beetroot dip yesterday, and the beetroot salad is great. Depends on the person you are in the kitchen but I have used mine everyday for over a year now. I adore it to pieces. My eldest son refused to eat anything not made it the Thermomix for a while!

I minced for the first time and LOVED it :)

I made the Lamb & Fetta Rissoles from the Official Community Recipes. Amazing. Made my own ranch to go with, a lovely salad and PW's Crash Hot Potatoes.
