Thermomix Lovers United #3

I went to one class - wasn't in my area but I didn't get from consultant in my area either. Seems ridiculous to me, some nights are convenient some locations better than others so seems silly to restrict. I am going to a Christmas one tomorrow with my mum who is a TMX owner but in England!! This one probably would be considered my area though am not sure. I probably wouldn't go to another on my own, seemed like most people there with friends and is just more interesting going with someone to discuss etc. (Although I did find it quite rude the way some people chatted right through and if I was delivering course I would have asked them to save chat to end).

Might join in. Had a demo, now I'm convinced I need one. So I'm on the path to convince dh. He's going to get bored with my constant reminders lol.

We only have one 'area' here, so there isn't any choice....and the classes here suck! So I'd be all for going to another area's classes - if they weren't 1500km away lol.

That is what I did for my first one, and it was fine. I just got back from a Christmas one that Megan highlighted which was run by her group, but I don't think everyone was from that group either. I would just book what is convenient. It doesn't really fit with the ethos of it being a useful, convenient, easy etc. if make it difficult to go to classes.

It was ok, interesting enough, but for mum and I if hadn't known was a Christmas one before, I don't think would have known from the content, whether that is because we are from the UK and so certain things shout 'Christmas' here but don't to us I don't know.

I wouldn't go on my own again to one as I said before, but was nice to go with mum (Megan was there but backstage and did get to say hello) - and if I did go to one with someone else - would want one that was a bit different - perhaps one aimed only at existing owners. This one gave me some ideas but I didn't really learn much. I think if you use the web loads to find recipes etc there might not be much new at a class.

I looked at the content and sort of thought that it looked like lots of stuff I already do... But I want to go to one somewhere. Maybe a different one? Don't know.

OP, mine did this as did my veroma lid (they're not even 6 months old!) and I called my demonstrator to get a new one. Apparently, there was a faulty batch of them recently and lots of people are complaining. Contact someone for a new one. They're free.

Ooh thanks Mrs Fab - I did that with my varoma lid, I wonder why I didn't think the Mc would be the same??? Will contact demonstrator tomorrow.

OP - I have had two MC already and spoke to Megan last night about if should get a third, she said will get me one as if they crack like that they could eventually disintegrate. Apparently they just need to work through the bad batch.

I had the same issue with my varoma lid and 2 x MC. Getting them both replaced as spoke to a consultant at the most recent cooking class I went to. . The varoma lid doesn't sit flush on the rest of the varoma which means the steam is escaping around the edge. The consultant said no problem getting it replaced :)

I've asked for one for Christmas. My husband is seriously considering it. OMG.
What points did you ladies use to help sway your DH?

Swamp - I had a demo, at my house, when DH could be there and see it. Consultant made a coleslaw - won him over right there.

I've convinced dh but he says I have to save up for it specifically. So here's hoping I could have my own tmx in the not too distant future.
