Interest free payment plan finishes January 6th WilliamsMummy... Just saying.. ;)
Having a BBQ tonight with family and looking forward to showing off what my thermie can do. On the menu is herb and garlic pull apart, Christmas salad from the devil cookbook, marinade for the meat and a Creme caramel. Also making a potato bake and leafy salad too... Yummmmm
Hey ladies! I'm looking at buying a tmx, but had a question about the special that's on atm with the interest free for 1 yr?
Do they do credit checks? Is it like a layby? Do they need payslips etc?
Just wondering before I go into it as dh would have to be the one to sign if that was the case as I'm only casual..
I dont know much abouy them but am going to a demo on Saturday... what can you ladies tell me about them?
I'm not sure as I paid for mine outright. But I hope you enjoy the demo!! I'm sure the consultant will be able to answer your questions..
Let us know what you think! I'm sure you'll fall in love with it as soon as you see that sorbet being made!!
I went to a demo recently. We were given info on the payment plans, but didn't have to sign anything on the day.
I think it was $40 a week on the interest free plan for a year.
I don't know what info had to be provided in order to sign up, but the demo person was very helpful with answering questions.
I've just bought myself Quick Fix for Christmas. I was going to buy them both, but I wasn't keen after reading the contents of the second. So, now I can't decide between Tenina's two or the In the Mix pair.
Help ?
I have both Quick Fix books, but only because I got them in a bundle deal. I do prefer the original book though. I went to a Xmas cooking class on Wednesday night, and they were raving about the In the Mix books. A few of the recipes we did were from them and they were delish! I don't know much about Tenina, sorry, not really much help, I tend to get most of my recipes online ;-)
I also bought myself a Xmas present, the Thermomix 'Cook' Recipe Book Stand. Have been stalking the postie all week, but haven't got it yet :(
What are some quick and easy to throw together recipes for foody gifts for the kids teachers and some friends of mine for christmas? I was thinking of doing some gingerbread men. Maybe fudge of some sort.
I am aiming for cheap and easy please! Throw your suggestions at me!!
We made the Sugar cookies from the recipe community today using Christmas Cookie Cutters - they are fab, make a HUGE batch and are super cheap to make (I had all the ingredients in the house)! I was going to take a plate of them to work tomorrow..... but we've almost eaten ALL of them ..... OOOPS!!
Sugar cookies sound good. Now to find the recipe
I got the two in the mix cookbooks the other day and I have been reading through the recipes. Most of them look quite complicated (but so delicious) some using ingredients I've never heard of before or that aren't readily available. Overwhelming!! Anyone got any recipes from the in the mix books they would suggest me trying??
Hooraaaaayyy!! Happy Christmas to ME, I got a thermomix!
So very excited and keen to start playing but feeling a little overwhelmed by the possibilities.
Any suggestions on good things to start with?
I'm also wanting to put together a list of raw ingredients to start stocking my pantry with since I'm hoping to do far more from scratch.
Bearing in mind that we're going to be gluten-free for the next 8 weeks (at least) as a trial to see if it helps some of DS and DH's health issues, can you lovely ladies suggest things I might need from the bulk-foods store? I'm thinking things like nuts, rice, grains, seeds... what do you use heaps of?
Yay for your thermie for Xmas!! How exciting!!
Make the vege stock first of all, you will use that a lot. Things I have a lot of as staples is eggs, cream, milk, rice, sugar, flour, nuts and seeds, oils, canned legumes. Then I buy my vege and fruit fresh.
Have fun getting to know your wonderful machine!!!
Yay Santosha! What an awesome gift! Get onto Quirky Cooking - she does a LOT of gluten free, allergy friendly meals/dishes/treats. Even for a non-allergy family we use Quirky Cooking a lot. I've made her chicken stock paste and I'm using that more than the veggie stock paste. DH says my risottos have never tasted better and I put it down to the stock paste!
Raw cashews. I use a lot more of them than I would have thought. Also medjool dates - get onto them, if you're not already. They are awesome. Also maple syrup, organic pure maple syrup (NOT the sugary alternative) as a substitute for sugar. We have also started using coconut oil and I'm going to start experimenting soon with coconut flour and coconut sugar.
We've also bought different oils... Rice bran, grape seed and I've just bought macadamia oil, to use in spreadable butter. But I still use a fair bit of olive oil.
Oh - how could I forget - bakers flour. We go through a lot of that. I'll make pizza once a week, bread a lot... Goes up and down, some weeks I make a loaf every two days, sometimes two loaves if I make fruit bread, which means I'm using a kilo or so of flour every day. I buy bakers flour from Costco, much cheaper than from normal supermarkets.
Thanks Ladies. DS is dairy free too so Quirky Cooking looks good for us.
Can you get gluten free baker's flour? (Sorry if that's a dumb question, I really am only days old to this GF concept, but read a couple of things which have prompted me to try it)
I don't think so... Bakers flour, from my limited knowledge, is just flour with something added (?) to make it harder, sturdier, for breads and doughs. I think.
The good news is you can grind your own flours quickly and easily so you can experiment with breads and work out the best gf one. My mum's preferred gf bread is one by Cyndi O'Meara - google it!
Quirky Cooking also has a nice looking one on her blog! You'll find it :)
I have been given the final go ahead, so now I can actually order my tmx. Yay so excited, can't wait. So many recipes to try.
Yay WM!! That's awesome!
