I have a polar HRM. I've also discovered a really good app - run keeper - which calculates kms and calories burnt.
If I was closer I'd help you out pn! Do you know what type you have? Is it an ft4?
PN, if it's an FT4 I can email you the user manual PDF :)
Oh this is going to be harder then I thought with a new baby!! Specially a velcro baby.
Luckily food is he main factor in losing weight for me cause I can at least focus on what I put in my mouth if I dont have time to exercise
Don't worry Bea, DD2 is a Velcro baby too...it's totally manageable time wise I've found. Energy is the big one for me but I've found the more I exercise, the more energy I have.
Oh you sweet girls. I have the manual. It's not the issue ... the user is ;)
Oohhhhh alrighty then. Well, I can't help there! I sold mine because I found it too fiddly lol!!
Well, have plans downloaded and printed out (had to buy a new printer)
Still have to do the fitness test, so for the moment I am assuming beginner. That program looks scary. Will need to be up at 6am to fit it all in.
Have not told DH (so much for saying my commitment out loud)
Reworking the shopping list now. Looks like I need to go shopping mid week for some items, otherwise they will not be fresh enough.
I didn't tell ex when I first signed up either, Astrid. I spoke out loud to others, who I knew would be more supportive and not judgemental. ;)
DH is supportive and not supportive all at the same time. So I have told him we are back to healthy eating and that we are following a meal plan (he is used to this from us doing the 1MKC).
Notice a lot of the recipes want cooked chicken breast. Do you just cook all this up at the start of the week, even freeze it? Or just cook as you need?
Depends. If it is dinners, I cook it fresh. If it is lunch I may bulk cook, but as it is just me, I cook it one day, eat the second portion the next day.
I used to broil a whole pile of chicken breasts on a sunday, portion them into containers in the freezer and pull them out when needed.
But I used to cook up most things on a Sunday and freeze them. Made it easier.
Once I'm living full time at the farm, I'm going to be doing the Sunday cookfest again (most food from the menus I've already got).
I cooked it, and then tubbed it up in convenient portion sizes and froze/fridged it depending on when it was going to be needed.
I found one weekly shop was fine, as long as I used my Fridge Mates (tupperware crispers) for the cucumber, celery, lettuce etc.
Good luck, girlies!!
Thanks ladies! Might move my shopping day to Sunday from Friday. Will also move any fish meal to later in the week, fish is something we both would rather buy fresh and eat on the night. There are a few seafood outlets near work.
I like to make my own chicken stock, so I thought I could poach a heap of chicken breasts in it as I am making it, just pull them out when done and let the stock simmer for hours.
I am so daunted by the exercise. Don't have enough bandwidth to watch a 45 minute+ workout video. I can see myself taking 2 hours for the 1 hour workout as I will be looking up what to do every 5 minutes.
Invest $30 in her DVDs. They are all but the same as the workouts she puts up anyway. When I first did it, she didn't put them up at all, you had to buy the DVDs. But they are good and they are broken down into 5 or 10 minutes blocks, so you can do all or 3 or 2 depending on time and condition etc. Well worth it.
Fitness test done yesterday. Managed to do the 1Km run in less than 8 min which surprised me. Really need help with my technique for push ups and planking though.
First work out this morning. Followed the at home one. I nearly threw up. Probably does not help that I tend to need breakfast when I wake and can feel ill from crappy sleep (thanks DD2)
So I struggled to eat breakfast afterwards and did not feel better till about 9:30 when I finally finished my breakfast at work.
Think I will definitely order in the DVD's, hated having to check the paper work, set the timer (need to work out how to lower the volume on my phone app), plus I had to move between inside and outside depending on what I am doing.
I do have a 38 minute DVD that came with the MB weight set I bought, so that might useful till the others come in.
Oh, I think DH has worked out what I am doing. No negative comments, just laughing at me wanting to throw up.
