No hun, it is for anyone doing Round 1! :)
Ugh. I'm having organic natural yoghurt with some berries (black and blue) for morning tea, instead of my usual bucket of skinny hazelnut latte and it's not nice. It's quite tart. I would normally have berries (or orange, or kiwi, or whatever) with a diet vanilla yoghurt, but apparently they're all just as bad as the normal ones, and the good stuff is the whole organic what not ...
I'm glad I'm making these little changes early, to give myself a chance to be in the swing of it before Round 1 starts!
You'll get used to natural yogurt. I find it delicious! Mmm.
I was starving, and it was that or almonds or celery with peanut butter (and I think I should save my nuts for later).
In every way :p
Sorry to butt into your thread, but PN, try the Greek yoghurt with some vanilla and cinnamon with it. It will reduce the tartness. Not sure if it's allowed, but you can also try a teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter (along with the vanilla and cinnamon).
Good luck!
I ended up smashing the blackberries up, and then stirring the juice through the yoghurt and that was quite nice :)
I'll keep your suggestions in mind too, thanks!
And I always have honey at work (because I have oats with honey and sultanas and water for brekky most days) but the honey I have here at the moment is creamed (YUM) so wouldn't work as well ;)
You can also make a little berry sauce thing (sooo eloquent today) with berries, water and some honey for sweetness in a saucepan. Make sure it's not too watery. Then you can stir it in to your yogurt. Yum!
I shall call him coulis.
Ha, that's the one! Or you can cheat and stir jam through, but I don't know how that would go down with the sugar content?
probably ...
Well, I have been truly slack and unmotivated since joining :-/
So today I decided to JFDI and get out there and go for a walk before I went home and got stuck into housework and other stuff. I walked up to our local Coles and back which took about 80 minutes, not sure about the kms though. Will have to track them in the car next time I have to head up that way.
Have made good food choices today. Had a tuna & salad for lunch which has kept me feeling fuller.
Will join the fb group next time I log on, thanks for setting up LS
Well I have finally got the.money and have signed up. Next 2 weeks will be interesting as we are away on holidays but will try and stay focused.
Looking forward to doing this with you girls :-)
yay! more peeps!
Week 4 challenge is easy for me. My eating habits aren't tooooo bad, it's just remembering to write them down.
I never realised how much I ate at night. Think I may need to start eating dinner after the boys go to bed, instead of with them. We usually all eat around 5pm, 6pm at the absolute latest and that's a rarity. So by the time I'm sitting down with my feet up my tummy is rumbling! I am genuinely hungry so maybe eating later will help. But then I feel bad I'm not eating 'as a family'
Welcome! Don't forget to join the facebook page that Lime has set up for us : https://www.facebook.com/groups/328591777254723/
You are lucky because food is my biggest downfall. I am happy to exercise and was seeing a personal trainer twice a week prior to falling pg but I just eat to eat....
We eat at 6pm too and I feel hungry around 8pm, so I eat....lol :-/ I really want to keep eating together as a family so I will try to work out to eat something healthy and filling around that time.... perhaps yoghurt??
I didn't walk yesterday but I went to Chadstone SC and walked around there for a few hours, so that would have helped & at least I wasn't sitting on the couch or eating! I'll head off later today when Miss K wakes for her arvo feed as I have been motivated and done most of the household chores and the likes this morning. Just got to battle that ironing pile, which I'll do tonight in front of the t.v.
Last two days we've been in and out of hospital with DS1 (who is going to be fine) but accordingly my diet has been a mish mash of fruit, bakery items, coffee and pepsi max.
Oops.
Will do better now.
yes saw your other thread PN hope your little man is making a swift recovery
have you joined the FB group that LS created?
eek...Mich has just unlocked the first of the pre season tasks :o - it's all getting real now!!
I keep thinking about this thread, I'm really tempted to do it. But... I don't want to join up and spend the money if I won't stick to it! The added BB support makes it all the more tempting!
i was exactly the same nickle! i bit the bullet and signed up in order to make myself accoubtable and i guess 'force' myself to do something about my weight. and now that preseason has officially opened mich has a list of things about excuses etc which is really helping me follow through with the accountability stuff.
you need to want to do it for yourself
Pre-season has kicked off and I am excited but also nervous because now I can't hide behind 'I've just had a baby' excuse that I have been telling myself. DD is nearly 3 months old and that line ain't gonna spin for much longer!
Nickle - if you don't want to join, just hang in here with us anyway and we'll support you!
I need to quit that excuse too ... and my DSs are 10 and 30 months old!! My excuse has been 2 babies and 2 surgeries and 2 traumas in 2 years ...
But now I'm trying to focus on 2 sizes in 2 months :)
But I'll need my cheer squad ;)
As for the FB group, I'm not ready yet. Maybe next round. Comfortable to do it here with a bit more anonymity!
Thought I may join the convo, Im currently doing round 4, Im going to give round 1 a miss, but thats because I want to see if I can do this on my own and after two rounds I think Im ready for it, well I hope Im ready for it. ;) So this round I am printing everything off and making folders of it all so I can follow along. If I find I need help I will join up for round 2.
I'm doing it again this round. Took a break on the round over xmas, but back at it in a big way :)
yaaay welcome ladies!
Sopdet - was it hard to follow? i know i'll only get out what I put in, but as a rough guide??
nah not hard to follow, everything you need is given to you, including a shopping list weekly.
The menu plans are great (both normal and vego ones), keeping to the 1200cals (or 1500-1800 cals if you are pregnant/bf) is the thing I struggled with, I had to force myself to eat that much, but I felt way better when I did feed my body properly.
The exercise plans are also brilliant, you get the choice of outdoors, at home, gym machines & gym classes. Doing your fitness test at the start properly is one thing you must make sure you do, as it helps you monitor your journey, you do another at 4, 8 & 12 weeks. I cut 1 minute off my time trial (which is a 1km walk/run) over the 12 weeks.
The pre-season is brilliant, she helps you to put things in place to allow you to succeed during the 12 weeks.
The last round I did I lost 6kgs but also lost 50cm off my body, so as I've said to friends doing it, don't be so stressed about the scales if your fitness levels are increasing and you are losing cms.
Yep Sopdet is spot on. Although I have averaged about a kg a week, for two rounds going now and overall Ive lost 1m. Its great for helping with mindset (which I find to be the greatest gift of the program), the food is yummy too and its fuss free.
Loving the excuses exercise she has us do this week. I am the queen of excuses when it comes to eating, am such a comfort eater!
Also wondering if the meals are suitable for a family, really don't want to be cooking two meals every night!
my girls are horrid fussy eaters. But that been said they have eaten almost every meal I have made. They love the meatballs, and the lasagna, and a fair few others. I will admit that I go through the weekly meal plan and swap out meals that I know the girls are not going to eat and replace it with ones they like. Thats about it.
There is nothing special about the meals, there are no special, magical ingredients. Its just normal everyday meals made with healthy ingredients. And the right protion size.
I think that what has changed for my girls when it comes to eating at home, is there is no other options. I dont have the canned spag in the pantry, the chips in the freezer, Im not a push over when it comes to meal time.
So yeah the little ones can definitely eat the meals. :)
Hestia, I have honesty found no reason to make two meals, the girls quickly got the hang of what was on offer, and they will eat almost everything I put in front of them.. And tonights dinner was burgers, mine was bunless, but thats because its accelerator day. And the girls loved them :)
The lasagne is on rotation quite a bit in this household, I've done it with roo mince as well as with beef (this is the one the recipe has you using), lamb, chicken, still to do it with venison mince. I've also halved the meat component and done it with baby spinach leaves and some extra cheese.
The meatballs rock. I did them up quite small, with some extra spices in them and took them with the cucumber/yogurt dip to a bbq, they were demolished.
Tip from one of the girls who did R3 with me, was to make up a chart on the fridge of what 100cals of different vegies equals, ie 100cals of beans = ??? g etc. This meant that if she was short cals during the day she could steam up (or have fresh) some vegies for a snack if she was peckish. This also helps with the extra cals for the guys, instead of giving them higher cal snacks during the day you can throw a couple of hundred extra cals onto their dinner with some extra vegies.
I also go through the menu plan when I do my shop and work out what I can cook ahead of time & freeze, so on a weekend I spend a couple of hours cooking and stocking the freezer. Some things like the pumpkin soup I used to make double of and take that to work for lunch instead of say the sandwich option.
homework finished - but ironically, I came home and did it instead of going for a walk with friends!
I have questions from veterans:-
- when will the next one get unlocked?
- how many calories a day are we on?
- do we "earn back" calories by exercising, or is the calorie counter set irrespective or exercise (I've never counted them back, but the phone app does...?
- is a wii adequate for weighing?
Monday
1200 for women, 1800 for men (and breastfeeding/pregnant women I think)
nope & that app is so wrong with regards to "earning back" calories :)
You do get to know what your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is when you input your details at the start, which is a great indicator of how well you are going along the way
yes, as long as you use the same thing each week when you weigh
Interesting, thanks girls :)
Question regarding breastfeeding - if Buster is having on average 3 feeds per day, do I need to add on 500 calories? Or is that only for younger babies who are feeding more? He is over 12 months. And if so, does the meal plan reflect the extra calories or do I just add them in myself with a snack or something?
I'm hardly breastfeeding at all, so I won't count any extra for that - but I'll struggle with the 1200 I think!
Yesterday I was around 1500, today I was 1200 but I'm hungry ...
And I tend to fill up on coffee and diet soft drink, and I'm trying to cut both of those out!
Oh dear. At least have a few weeks to cut my eating back.
I've been overdoing it lately, so it's high time I dropped it back a ways anyway.
Is anyone doing psyllium husks or anything else to have a bit of a detox first?
Have a look on the fact sheets. If I link it to you I think it is commercial linking.... 12wbt dot com / member / faqs - go from there.
The site suggests that 4 feeds or more per day would require an extra 500 calories. From my experience, you give it a red hot go and tailor it for yourself. DD still has 4 feeds a day, most days (and unrestricted access on the weekends) but not of a quantity that would require 500 cals. I go 100-200 extra as most of hers are drinks rather than feeds.
There are suggested calorie boosts for each meal that are normally 100 cals each and then you get an extra 200 cals for snacks. I would start of boosting your cals in the meals and see what your losses are like and if your supply is affected / Buster seems affected. Then go from there.
