Well I've found it hard to get motivated today after a celebratory night last night - had to make the most of it after not being UTD anymore and it being the day before the challenge! I've had plenty of water, vitamins and some ham. I better get some salad into me I say. Still haven't built up much of an appetite yet. Will have a boxing session on the wii later on. Today is rest day before night shift tonight. Anyway, I'm biting the bullet and posting the most terrible before shot I can find in the challenge gallery, I hope I see more of you do it too as I think it will be more incentive :)
Happy new year everyone :)
I got my stat's in yesterday afternoon... so so ashamed of myself for letting my weight get so bad  :wall:
I know its a bad start for me but we had a bbq breaky this morning, so i plan to get stuck into it all tomorrow... First and last slip up i swear ;)
someone said they have a glass of water when peckish....i clean my teeth! sounds wierd i guess but it works!
Im not very good with 3 meals a day, i still snack in between and go way over the amount i should eat, so im having 6 small meals a day. eg:
6am: small bowl cereal
9am: toast w/fruit or fruit salad and yog
12pm: scrambled egg w/sliced tomato
2pm: one slice mountain bread w/salad/ham/cheese/tuna...whatevers in the fridge
4pm: Avo on crackers/corn thins
7pm: Dinner...normally fish/meat w/ salad,veggies or small pasta
Pudding: Chocolate paddle pop!! need my choc hit of the day and its better than most other treats!
Unfortunatly i still eat like this when not being healthy but each one is something like croissent, cheese on toast, sausage roll, cake, choc, creamy pasta, chips!! oops!!
Put DD in her pool floaty chair and did some laps, we both had fun!! and kept cool!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Best of luck with the challenge and weight loss.
I am very motivated today. I normally have trouble with motivation after the first week, then go back to old habits. Not this time but. I got lots of lovely ladies to keep me motivated :D. So far I done the leg magic. I also ate half the amount I normally eat for breaky and lunch. Dh and I are going to go for a walk with Ds and our dog after 5pm when it cools down abit. I will also do boxing and stepping on the wii.
Just added a photo to the gallery - also have my own weight loss gallery from last year's challenge & a mid-year-ish-08 photo here - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ry.php?cat=719
Have any of you tried the new Weight watchers potato bakes? They're not bad. And only 1 point or 78 calories they're a good little treat. I'm someone who snacks a lot so I usually find that low fat goodies like this are good to have in the fridge/pantry because you don't feel like you're missing out. I've bought myself some skinny cow ice blocks too so I can have one after dinner. I always crave something sweet after dinner.
Hey Cookiemonster, yep I've been on the calorie king website before. It's good isn't it!
PS: PUNKIN you've done sooo well so far!
I bravely/stupidly (lol) put my pics up as well. they are bare belly and *GASP* bare thighs... i can hide my belly and thighs nicely under clothes, so they needed to come off to really see how I look.
Not very nice might i add (though my bum isn't too bad )
wow Punkin you have done amazingly well in one year! I hope I can be as strong as you.
Good on u girls for putting up your pics, I thought I was gonna be the only one  I reckon put it all out there and theres less chance of giving it up....well heres hoping!
Hi all - I started off reasonably well, considering I had temptation all around from last night's dinner party (we stayed at a friends house with the boys - being in someone else's place helps and stops indiscriminant raiding!)
I went for a 5 km walk yesterday with the boys so feel great for having done that - and I am starting to re-evaluate my weight loss goal - I think I want to get to 70kg!! 75kg gets me to a BMI of 25 (still overweight) and I thought - why kid myself - when I get to 75kg it will be that extra 5kgs which stops me from getting complacent.
So if I start at 85.5kg and stay disciplined with the help of all you lovely ladies, I should make it to 70kg by the end of March!
Will get DH to take honesty pics later this week.....
hi ladies
I am after some ideas on what to have for breakfast. I like cereal, and I currently have cornflakes, which I know arent too good for me. I should mention, I hate sultanas, so wont eat any cereal with sultanas in it.
I ate weetbix every day for years and when I was pregnant went off them, and still cant face them
Anyone got any ideas?
I've been for a walk today (yay) actually 2 walks, if you count walking around a shopping centre! does that count?
Do you like porridge? It's one of the best healthy breakfasts and you can and fruit to it. I definately count walking around the shopping centre! Walking is walking doesn't matter where we do it.
I finally decided what my first goal is. It's a really hot day today so I decided to wear a pair of shorts out. I pulled out my shorts that I was wearing when DD1 was 3 months and I couldn't even get them up my legs!:o So my first goal is to fit into those shorts.
My first challenge is tonight when we go to my mums for dinner. She makes the best meals so I must remember PORTION CONTROL!!!!
I am mainly going to be cutting out processed foods and cutting back on the amount of carbs that I eat. I have low-carbed in the past with great success (lost 21kgs before falling preg with DD1), I just wont be cutting back quite as hard as would like to due to breastfeeding. Have found before just cutting out bread, pasta, potatoes from my lunch makes a huge difference to me, especially if I keep them minimal with dinner.
For breakfast I normally have porridge with fruit and a tablespoon of LSA, sometimes I will have eggs. I have been seeing a naturopath about improving my general health and we have worked out that they are the best breakfasts for me. I am also taking a digestion tonic to help with IBS and for the extreme hunger I tend to get. Really need to catch up with her again soon.
As for exercise, well still working that one out. I have the Wii Fit, so will be dragging that out more often and I will also be trying to get out into the garden more. Did go swimming today, but I doubt sitting in the shallow end with bubs counts as exercise ;)
Punkin - you are looking great - congrats on your journey so far
For exercise I know I am pretty useless at sticking to a routine so wanted to integrate my exercise into my life. I am playing indoor soccer once a week - easy as I love it and it keeps you puffed. And then I am riding my bike to work 1-3 times a week (starting at at least once a week for first three weeks then building to at least 3x per week by wk 7) then at week 10 adding one exercise dvd a week. I really wanted to reduce my emissions as well so that will keep me motivated for the bike riding which is the hardest exercise goal that I have set. Am excited about this and glad I have so many people in the same boat!
Wow. You girls are amazing. You can chat, that's for sure!
You are all doing brilliantly with sharing all these ideas re food and exercise.
MrsMac: PM with with your stats and your ticker code and I will let you be a late entrant!
And for those girls who have braved the camera and uloaded before pics to the gallery: WELL DONE!
Lulu2, I have a home resistence workout that I will post. I do it every other day. Easy & quick, but effective (she says, admiring her toned tanned arms, LOL!)
Girls, I still have a load of tickers to add, so if yours is not up yet, don't stress.......I'm getting there.....
Diet wise I am still using Calorie King. I am on 1200 cals a day, made up of low carb, high protein, low GI foods. This works for me like a charm. I also have, for breakfast, a shake: I use the Kate Morgan brand. I mix into it some In-Liven and additional protein powder and also physylium husks for fibre. And of course, at least 2 litres of water a day.
My weight has diminished significantly, but importantly for me, my body fat has greatly reduced, whilst my muscle and hydration has increased. Hugely. So I know that what I am eating, and the way I am exercising, is ideal and healthy for me. It also means that I am not suffering from too much excess skin, thank god!
Ladies, I wish you well over the next few days. DH is on leave, so I may not get on much. But I wish you all the energy and the willpower and the motivation you all need. xx
