I lost. Woohoo!
welcome shoshana!
I lost this week...next week I will be under 71kg if it kills me :D
A loss here too, and I'm a bit excited, Last week felt like a fluke, this week cements that its real :)
I'm halfway to my first goal - 2kgs down, 2kgs to go. Off for a walk now :)
I've been a bit slack lately, exercise wise, again. :( It's like I get going good one week, then have a really really bad week the next, and the a good week, then a bad week. had a fair bit going on emotionally so that isn't helping.
Hoping to try and pull myself out of this rut and hole that I'm in.
So far I've lost 2kgs from my starting weight.
Hope everyone has had a great week last week, and an even better week this week!
xox
Wow, fantastic to see some weight loss from you all! Jewel, i was like that too, but the gym i go to you need to book the creche and you get into a lot of trouble if you cancel so i have a good incentive to go every week!
Here are my cm stats :)
Overall so far-
Bust: 1cm
Waist: 7cm!! (goal 9cm)
Hips: 4cm (goal 8cm)
Arms: 0.5cm gain

Bust: 1cm
Waist: 2cm
Hips: 2cm
Arms: 0.5cm
Thigh: 0.5cm
Well, I lost ....wait for it.... 1.6kg!! :o :o
well done Raupe, that's fantastic!!!
Yay, my snail moved!! Go snail, go! :bluecheer:
That is fantastic Raupe!
Can anyone run me through what you eat in the day (and how much of it)? I need some serious help!
Hehe, thanks Traveller and appletree!
Appletree: I don't know about anyone else, but I usually have an apple first thing in the morning, then I go for an hour walk and do some situps etc once I get home. After the exercise I have a shower, then eat brekky. I usually have a small bowl of cereal/muesli. but I make sure it's low in sugar etc (Avoid toasted muesli - high in fat). I get bored sooo easily with breakfast... Last week I had berry muesli with added all bran and this week I'm going with Special K. For lunch I have been eating heaps of salads. Saying that I am too lazy (or busy at times) to make it from scratch. So I just buy a salad mix from the supermarket or sumo salad. In the afternoon I have some berries or nuts (naughty ones! with flavour...) or sometimes cake :hide: when I'm at work... oops! Dinner is always different. I'f I come home late from work (8pm or later - can't be bothered cooking) we're having more salad  or subway. Otherwise I make veggie burgers, half meat half veggie lasagne (with wholemeal pasta sheets), and tonight we had sweet potato and chicken curry (home made and low fat with brown rice). So usually the busier I am the more salad we eat and the more weight I lose!! Crazy, hey? So guess who had a REALLY busy week this week! Hehe. Also I tried to half the amount I eat each meal... So I eat half (or 3/4) cup of cereal, and about a cup (usually less) of food for dinner. I used to always eat as much as dp, but turns out this ain't so good for me.
Hope that helps.
PS: it depends on how much you weigh right now. So for someone that is 20kg lighter than me this might be too much food...:dunno: But it works for me!
Ok ladies i will do our updates tomorrow but after a week away i'm getting back into it, will start my food diary again AND if MGF is cancelled tomorrow i still want to mop so will do that and then head out for a walk (weather permitting of course) - PRMG hun if your free let me knowand i can come for a drive over your way.
Raupe  hun.. well done!
appletree - i normally have corn flakes or sultana bran for breakast (no sugar) and often half a pear or apple with it, snacks during the day would be banana, pear or apple, grapes etc
I have also bought the special K bars for something different, lunch is normally a ham & salad sandwich or cruskits etc.
Tea is anything really from pasta to rice to steak....
Yep, this is me exactly... DF is 6 foot 6 though, so it really hasn't been good for me at ALL!
Ok, so i would say i am eating at least 2 times that amount of food! Yikes... I haven't wanted to play around too much with food because last time i did DS stopped gaining weight and it all went pear shaped. Maybe i need to tone it down a little though! I really don't need to eat as much dinner as i am though, tonight i made shepards pie (without the potato on top) and went back for a third bowlful just before bed! I keep telling myself that if i am hungry then the first person to suffer will be DS because it will take it from my milk first, but i think i am just making excuses to over eat as i wasn't actually hungry at all.
Today i had
2x wholemeal chia bread with vegemite and butter
chicken and corn cuppa soup
2x country grain rolls with left over roast chicken (tiny amount) and salad
6 berry pikelets
8 rice crackers
3x bowls of homemade shepards pie with no mash
Hehe, my DP is 6 foot 6, too!! And he was overweight, too! So just imagine how much I ate! :shakehead:
If you are BF, you have to eat 500 kcal on top of the "recommended" kcal amount for you! So I should eat around 1800kcal per day, but if I was BF I would have to eat 2300kcal. Does that make sense?
Maybe use CalorieKing online. You can track what you eat and it calculates all your kcal for you. After a while you know how many calories your food has and how many 'seconds' you can afford/get away with! Maybe cut out the third bowl of sheppards pie ;) and add some fruit as a snack somewhere? But NEVER be hungry! When you are hungry your metabolism slows down and as soon as you eat something your body will store it as fat, as it thinks you are in a hunger situation where it has to help you survive (by storing all calories coming in). So eat throughout the day to stay satisfied, but eat the right things!
Good Luck
Raupe - well done! That's great, get moving Mr Snail!!
Appletree - I usually have a salad wrap for lunch, maybe a banana or a mango as snacks. I have sultana bran for breakfast. I hardly eat bread, might have toast on a Sunday if we have a hot breakfast, but that's about it. I looked at the food you're eating, and it looks like a lot, but I remember when I was breastfeeding and was STARVING all the time! I use runkeeper and myfitnesspal and between the two work out the calories for the day. It's getting easier working out the food too.
ZF -Thanks for the walk today. It's always nice to have someone to walk with.
Raupe's lasagne for tea tonight, can't wait!
Oh how exciting! Just remember I'm not really measuring anything... I just make sure the consistency of the sauce looks right... So you might have to fiddle with the quantities! It looks like a lot of veggies, but they cook down quite a lot! Good luck! I hope you like it
Raupe, it was beautiful. Even got a yum out of DD, who is 19 months!!!! Awesome and better yet, leftovers for tomorrow night's dinner!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Gosh, I'm sooo relieved! Hehe, I love leftovers! And it tastes just as nice the next day as it does the first. I'm so happy you and your family liked it!
ZF! I Looove your new avi! Whoohoo *wolfwhistle* You look hot!
How is everyone going, feeling fit & healthy?
I PROMISE tomorrow morning when i sit down and do breakfast with the girls i WILL update the stats before we go for a walk.
Today i was going to walk with Kate but her and little one are not feeling well so i drove into town anyway to get some stuff from the shops, decided why not do a lap around the block first :) works out to be about a km so not great but still it was a walk.
BUT it's so gross outside now, prefect hot drink weather and i am having a caramel latte.. it tastes beautiful though and it's not often i drink coffee these days :)
Tonight we are going to FIL's for his birthday dinner and i have a feeling it's going to be KFC so today is my indulgence day and then hopefully heading out for a walk with Kate and PRMG tomorrow.
So how are you all going... keep us updated.
Aww, ZF that's nice! *EDIT: SNAP ZF! You were faster! My reply was to you previous post (reg Avi)*
How is everyone doing? It's been really quiet here lately! Well, yesterday I was in Uni all day, I was soooo busy, I didn't have any lunch :shakehead:. I returned really late, had dinner and went to bed. I didn't exercise at all for the first time since I joined the summer challenge! I feel horrible :( So today I did a long walk and 150 sit ups. But still, I wish I had time yesterday to do at least a little bit. Don't know what to make for dinner tonight. Any ideas for me?
Hmm is it raining Raupe - it would be PERFECT veg & pumpkin soup weather or a really yummy steamed veg & rice with chicken & avocado... mmmm
Well im going ok. Have lost 2.4kg so far. Having massive cravings though. I have only slipped up once. But man, its making me depressed. :(
The slip up or the diet?
The diet.. the cravings mostly.
 I hear you on the cravings! What are you craving most?
I think I'm having an ok week. Not going to the gym now as too $$ but getting a lot more walking in through the day
What kind of diet are you on? Are you doing shakes?
Yeah tony ferguson. Im fine most days. Just when a craving hits, it hits hard.
Antheia, that's rough. Hope the cravings back off. You're doing really well
Today I'm exhausted. I feel like I've just hit a wall and am trying to get through it. I walked this morning, went to my mum's this afternoon to help entertain my niece and then did the grocery shopping on the way home. So I'm going to "try" and get an early night to bed, I'm bailing out on the walk with ZF and Kate tomorrow (sorry girls ) and hopefully feel a little more energetic.
Antheia are you having the chromium ( I used blackmores sugar balance when I did tf) and eating all of the allowed food?
Antheia, when I was on shakes (many moons ago) we were allowed a cup of veggies a day. I think that kept me sane, because you can finally 'bite' something. Are you allowed some veggies?
Yeah i can have as many veges as i want. Im not hungry at all. Its all in my head.
Hi guys, hope your week is going well!
Antheia- hope those cravings disappear, i did shakes once but could only manage 2 meals per day (breakfast and lunches) and then had anything i wanted for dinner- probably not the point! LOL.
PRMG- Hope your energy levels pick up for you soon :grouphug:
Pandora- fingers crossed for you :) Sounds like you are on track!
Raupe- what did you end up having for dinner? Something yummy i am sure! What are you studying at uni? I only just finished the end of last year after soooo many long years studying! I think i am about ready to go back again, it feels a bit weird not having something due or something i should be reading!
ZF- mmm, i used to love those lattes! I can't have them anymore because of DS's reflux, they seem to really aggravate it :( Probably a good thing i guess, in the past i have tended to rely on caffeine as an appetite suppressant and lived on diet coke and coffee- not very healthy!
AFM- Having a good exercise week, everything going to plan so far! Eating not so great, but i have been reading a lot about emotional eating which i think is helping me a little. I don't want to rely on willpower (as i have none whatsoever), so am thinking more about why i want to eat something rather than focusing on what i want to eat. Successfully bypassed KFC on my way home from the gym tonight (saw an ad on tv before i left which got me thinking i would like some even though i usually hate it and never go there!). Had a sneaky peak on the scales and things are looking back on track :D
appletree, i only have the shakes and breakfast and lunch and then a protein and veg for dinner. Thats what the meal plan says to have. So it's not too bad.
I feel ok now. Must have just been one of those days I guess.
Appletree: I had some homemade sweet chilli and lime nutmeat burgers (veggo) in the freezer that I made a few days ago. So I made those, as it was the easiest! ;) I like to have at least one or two vegetarian days a week, so I've become quite creative when it comes to vegetarian meals! I will cook up a nice soup soon, though! ZF got me interested in soup now! Hehe
What did you have for dinner?
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to add, I'm doing my Bachelor of Business in Tourism Management (three year course). I'm in my last year now! ;)
:wall: typed out all the stats then A pressed the BACK button and it all disappeared, HOPEFULLY they both have a good sleep today and i will take 5min out from cleaning and re-do them.
How is everyone going?
Heading for a walk today and the to the library with the kids, should be nice.
Had KFC for tea for FIL's b'day last night so i MUST walk that off today..
hope it's not too late to join in...I joined the last challenge earlier in the year and failed miserably at that, so here I am for take 2..lol. Will have to jump on the Wii Fit scales later, I'm too scared to take measurements..lol. I'm still carrying all the weight I gained being pg with DD, I don't think I lost anything after she was born! I've been walking every day (having a dog makes for great motivation!) but it hasn't been enough because I don't think I've lost anything and I'm getting sick of looking at my disgusting lumpy body. Especially my tummy which makes me look like I'm about 6 months pg (only not a nice tight baby bump, just a floppy lump..).
So I've decided I need to do more, and try and get this weight off and be happy with my body. I know it's never going to be the same again, but at least I will be able to 'make do' rather than being disgusted and feeling down every time I look at it.
My biggest downfall is probably snacking- biscuits/chocolate. So I'm making an effort to not buy any crap when I go shopping, so at least if I have a craving it isn't in the house. It's also hardest when DD is asleep, i think because I don't have to worry about her wanting what I'm eating, or what to do with her while I go and get something because she is quite clingy.
Going to get some nice fruit this afternoon so I can snack on that instead of unhealthy food!
Have also started recording 'My Workout' on Austar, and once we're back from our morning walk (which I've been trying to get more out of by running a little bit as well, although it's hard with a 4 wheeler pram..lol, and walking faster rather than just strolling along. Am embracing the few hills we do have too!) and DD is in her high chair with some morning tea I go through one (sometimes two if DD is being good) of the sessions. Bought some cheap dumbells from Go-Lo to go with that. I haven't done very well with it lately, one week I think I only did it one day, but am trying to do it at least 3-4 times/week.
Fingers crossed I can get my body back!
