Who else wants to make an out of the normal weekend goal???????????
I'm going to walk 1.5hours on Sunday!
I love the extra goal idea Kimmi!
First and foremost my goal is to eat well over the weekend (weekends are always my downfall). My second goal will be 1 hr of exercise over the weekend.
what's everyone else's?
I will also make sure I get more activeness in...with DH home, I can do extra....thanks for the kick up the bum!
So stop surfing BB, Catherine- and move that body!
Hey girls. I think its time for me to join this thread. I have a 2 year old and a 10 week old so I think 10 weeks is enough time for me o use the 'I just had a baby' excuse, time to stop finding excuses.
During my pregnancy I got up to 111kgs (was 103kg before pg#2). I was around 70kgs before getting PG with DS1 so put on 30kgs with him. Only put on 8kgs with PG2. When I weighed myself 4 weeks ago I was down to 104.3kgs so only had 1.3kgs to get to pre-preg weight. No idea what I am now so hang on I will run and check...
Oh dear... 108.1kgs...
I think I knew that was coming, I haven't exactly been good the last few weeks. Think I might have had a bit of PND.
Ok so I'm starting today. Have had a cup of tea, 5 biscuits (shame) and a small bowl of cereal.
Day care lady just called and I have to go sign the attendence form (forgot yesterday) and guess what... I don't have the car (DF took it to work) so I guess I'm going to have to dun dun dun... WALK lol 30 mins there and back- with a big hilll :( lol well it's a good start.
Will report back once dying after the last hill.
Nice to join you ladies. We can do it. When I get to my goal- 68kgs I'm going to go get my belyy button peirced again. I looked damn sexy when it was done before DS1!
I'm not looking forward to weigh in on Monday - been a little too hot here to think about outside exercise and then I ended up getting some relief teaching work and then a teaching contract for Term 1 on Friday so there went the plans for exercise during the day. Although I've found my pedometer again (DS likes to play with it after I get home) so weekdays I'll be wearing that and making sure I get at least 10 000 steps done.
Woo hoo we did our walk. Had to get straight in shower when we got home though- sooo hot outside.
Now munging down on some watermelon.
Question for those with a wii fit- how much did yours cost? I'm thinking seeing as how I'm a bit of an inside person it might be worth getting one that way I can do my excercise in the aircon lol. Besides its my birthday on Wednesday so I might use my birthday money to get it...
Hi Ella and welcome  10 wks you are doing well. My youngest is now 11mths, I wish I had have started when she was 10wks
I have a Wii fit and I dont use it. Like anything I did at first but the novelty wore off and to be honest I find it a bit of a pain. I dont like all the stopping and starting you have to do in it. Im not sure what the newer games and programmes are like but I prefer to just keep going and not have to stop all the time.
Just my 2c on it. Maybe someone has one you could use for a bit before you bought one to see if you like it. I really wish I had of done that first.
Food wise not too bad this week. I have been pretty good and have been to the gym three times and a couple of little walks. I even went to the gym last night when the rest of my family was jumping in the pool. That took some will power to drag my ar$e out the door but I did it and felt much better for it too. Totally enjoyed my earned swim when I got home
It is so stinky hot and damn muggy though I dont need much of an reason to make excuses not to walk so have been trying the incidental ideas.
3 x 10 squats at the kitchen sink doing the dishes
3 x 10 chair dips before sit down to watch tv
parked as far away form supermarket doors as I could yesterday
So I am hoping all these little bits will add up
Happy fat free weekend ladies and keep up the good work, roll on Monday!!
Welcome Ella! The more the merrier in here because there will be plenty of weeks where we need LOTS of support!
L, I'm sure you'll be ok with weigh in on Monday. It is nerve wracking though...
Fei, you make me laugh... Thanks.
It's 12:11pm on Sat morning for me and I am posting solely to distract myself from wanting something to eat. I had my shake for b'fast and just had a coke zero a while ago. I'd really like something to eat though....
I've made diet jelly this morning but it's not set yet and it's normally my staple food during the day - a great way to have lots of water and fill my belly!
Well, i've bored you enough with my hunger and my washing machine has just finished... That will keep me occupied for a few more minutes!
I am going to jump into here too! Just read through the thread and decided I need to put it out there too so I can acknowledge and move on. I have a 15 week old daughter and I am more than ready to get myself back into healthy living. I currently weight about 107kgs (my scales are rubbish and my weight changes everytime I get on them up to 5kgs, even if I weight 3 times in a row).
I have just started back training with my Step into Life group, which I LOVE, but I am on an enforced injury leave from my chiropractor for a couple of weeks, due to out of alilgn hips/ pelvis from giving birth.
My excercise goals are to walk 45mins- 1 hr 4x per week, & train 2x perth week.
I am also getting back into calorie king to track how many calories I am eating- aiming for around 1800 as I am still BF.
I would like to be under 100kgs when I go back to work at the beginning of my, which gives me around 14 weeks, so more than do able.
My 1 tip for everyone is to do your measurements, because even when you think you aren't loosing weight, you check your measurments to see you have lost cm's. I am aiming more for cm's lost than kg's. I would like to be wearing a size 16 by christmas.
Hey girls,
I am committing to one week without any fast food.
I actually have super healthy food in the house but I am am shift worker who is living on way too little sleep, so sometimes the lure of driving to a window and someone giving me food is incredibly strong, I often don't get a meal break at work either so will be on the road and starving.
So thats my committment for this week.
I did Body Balance today and off to work now,
Will also try and exercise everyday, even if its just a walk around the block
I'm still in a large debate in my mind about the scales. After a lifeftime of weight issues, the best thing I ever did was get rid of them. Maybe I'll use clothes sizes
I am currently a size 22, I would like to be in a size 20 and comfortable by a conference presentation I am giving in one month.
Ultimate aim Size 14 dress, I am acutally okay with 16 jeans, Looking back at photos I see a healthy looking woman at about that size. (its such a shame that I thought I was fat and unattractive)
So thats my other committment. Not to put life on hold because of weight. Its not worth it. You just never know when you;ll look back on today and realise how wonderful it really was and wish you'd enjoy it more. I am going to make the most of each and every moment.
YAY pollya, you can do it!!!!
If you spend the time thinking about it, there are actually times when you can create a meal just as naughty as fast food but absolutely satisfying and good for you!!
Hey Polly A how are you?? Welcome to our (gonna be) little group
I am following Curves low carb diet at the moment and im still breastfeeding too. On it you are allowed the sweetchilli chicken wrap from the "evil shall not be named golden archers" place.
Even better they have just added it to their $5 lunches. Wrap, water and apple slices cant complain about that!
I know you said you are staying away from takeaways at the moment but maybe it could be an option, to feel like you are having takeways with everyone else but your arent being naughty about it.
PollyA that is a fantastic goal - I love it!
Only 2 more sleeps until weigh in... I'm getting nervous already. Not sure I'm going to get my 103.
Just popping into say hi, & welcome to those new to the thread :) I'm still here, having a bitof an up & down weekend - I came undone last night when I went to a scrapbooking thing, and we walked to maccas for dinner. But at least I walked there  and I didn't eat chocolate when I got home, lol.
Oh and big win - I did the grocery shop yesterday on an empty tummy (baaaaad move) and walked away from the mars bars on special near the checkout. WIn! (I'll take 'em where I can get 'em!)
Who's ready for weight in tomorrow????????????????????
Definitely not me!
As long as it's better than the 104.8 I'll be happy but I've been weighing myself everyday and I've been fluctuating massively!
I have started using the wii fit (again).
We got it Christmas 2009. I used it for about 3 months, everyday, and did really well..then hit a wall.
NOt really sure why...guess I had so much happening, the days got shorter...it is hard to do it when the kids are awake and under myfeet.
But a year on, I am timing it to DS (19mths) day sleep. a half hour a day is very doable.
I don't really know how muchit cost...lots...DH is a tech head, so in addition to the wii fit he has lots of other bits. I like the variety. I think you can get a basic set up for $2-300. I like that it is fun for DD to participate while i use it. The other bonus, (DD is 4) is if she is being difficult, I can let her watch ABC 2, and do the steps or jogging thing. It just plays a beat, to keep your rhythm going. To me the wii fit is the 'no excuses' exersise.
I like that it has a 'body test' which at the least records your weight, and has a place to record your other measurements and an exersise you do away from the wii. DH got me a fittness first dvd that goes with the wii...which is ok but not as fun.
I like that I can make a mee...that is kind of fun..and well honest!
Like anything, you get what you put in.
And dear friends, I have a confession to make. This week I feel of the wagon...rather badly. Tomorrow may reveal all (I can only hope my exersising has limited the damage. When I say I fell of the wagon, I was enabled by DH. Chocolate was on special (i like the wittakers coconut one). AF arrived (only the second since ds was born, and the first 'real one')...so I caved and made a new rule - I can have choc when AF visits. Now, I am hoping that AF won't visit again...but eitherway, next month I intend to break that rule and have no choc with AF, should she arrive.
So there it is.
Having you guys hasd made me reflect on this, and I am glad of your support.
Until tomorrow.....
And we're happy to support you Catherine!
I've had a naughty afternoon, nothing too major, just a couple of biscuits with Eli. Also, I'd normally have a carb free dinner but tonight dh is making some yummy homemade pizzas... They aren't too bad (not lots of cheese) but I prefer no carbs.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow. I look forward to seeing our progress!
After having a terrible weekend i am pleasantly suprised to say i have lost 2.3kg this week. I am aware i will need to get back on track as the fish and chips i ate could still creep back on, naughty me. But happy to have had a loss, how did you go?
Ok Here is the stats:
Start weight - Nov / Dec 2010 :- 143.5kgs
Week 1 weight in:- 132.00 kgs
Current weight:- 130.00 kgs
Total lost 13.5kgs!
I was so hoping to crack into the 120's! It would have been so great, especially having only been in the 140's just 2 months ago. I need to ramp it up this week! My food is very much under control! I'm pleased to say I haven't really messed that up too much.
I did however enjoy my wine on Friday and Saturday nights which kind of blew things out a little!
Good luck girlies!
Kimmi you are doing so well, i alwasys manage 2 weeks and full of the wagon, after losing that much weight you must be starting to feel better?
I am starting to feel better actually! My face is starting to look a little more defined as opposed to looking a little like Bert Newton! haha
I'm really excited about life at the moment and all the opportunities that losing a substantial amount of weight will provide...
NOt just the fact that I might feel a little better about myself at our wedding, but our next IVF cycle might bring us a little more luck!
Thats fantastic, im taking small steps as looking at the big picture scares the crap outta me but people like you are inspiring me.
We are all inspiring each other.... I couldn't have this positive, motivated frame of mind without all you girls to be honest!
Guys we CAN do this. We CAN! We are here to support and help each other.
My weight this morning was 95.6 kilos. That's 500gms this week.... actually it's HALF A KILO! Woohoo!
I'm now off to the gym. I'm going to be under 95 next week.
Morning ladies how are we?? Congratulations on your fantastic losses we are headed in the right direction!
Me well I am a happy little cowboy today
Wk one - 102.4kg
Wk two - 100.7kg
Thats a 1.7kg loss! not bad even with the fish and chips on Friday night and the BBQ for dinner last night.
So I am not quite in the zone but I am certainly wanting to get to double numbers next week so I am try to get my mojo in full swing this week.
I went for a walk yesterday morning (in the stinking heat) and by trial and error I have found some good walking songs.
Pink - Raise your glass. Good beat and not too fast
Rhianna - whose that chick. This one is alot faster but a good one for when you are half way or on the home stretch and starting to slow down
Flo Rida - Club cant handle me. I just like this song anyway but the chorus has a great stomping beat to pump it out to.
Keep up the good work ladies we are doing well and remember
"every step we take is one step further away from where we used to be!"
Wow, take a week away from this thread and it goes NUTS!
Am just signing up for bellydancing classes - WOO! And getting on the treadmill, it feels so good to sweat :) No scales at home, I don't believe in them, but clothes are feeling and looking FABULOUS!
Hmmm, belly dancing classes sound like so much FUN! I'd love to look into that more.. I am just SO uncoordinated! I mean, I bought the zumba dvd's and I end up just waving my body around all over the place because I just can't keep up!
Wow - amazing work girls! Congrats!
I screwed up my weigh in this morning. I forgot to weigh in, and by the time I remembered I was dressed for work and had b'fast etc so I think it will be a bit heavier.
It was 104.4 when I did weigh but I'll re-weigh in the morning to see if there's much difference.
It's only 400g for me but my weight has been all over the shop this past week... Not sure if it's the heat causing fluid retention or what, but something is weird. I don't entirely understand, Wednesday last week I was 103.8 but I have eaten reasonably well so that's why I am wondering if I am bit puffy from the humidity etc... I have certainly noticed my rings are a little tighter!
I'm ok with 400 if that's all it ends up been, my total is close to 20kg in past 5 mths (including a rest during Xmas new year peered). I don't mind slow loss because I tell myself it means I am learning how to live long term instead of just losing weight and gaining it back when I finish.
I'll post again tomorrow if there's any change.
If not change my aim for next Monday is 103.5kg.
Hi ladies. I am starting today. I have lost about 13kg in the last 6 weeks but its no longer just coming off. DD2 is 6 weeks on Friday and I am going to work my butt off to look good in her 1st birthday photos instead of avoiding the camera the way I done on DS and DD1 birthdays. My starting weight today is 129.8kg :(. I have talked to Dh and we are going to join the gym together on Friday. I went had a look today and you get a couples membership which includes 2 memberships for the gym, pool - the kids can also go for a swim, classes, childcare all for $25 week. I think thats cheap, I can't even get a babysitter for an hour with 3 kids for $25. Good luck to everyone.
hmmmmmm not sure what I'm doing.......
Starting at 94.4
This week 95.6kg......
body is currently doing slightly weird things - spotting & light flow - longer than I'm used to, but I'm also on Implanon and BFing (19mth old) so not sure if it's the first AF actually still trying to happen or if the Implanon is starting to play around with me or not. (I tend to weigh daily and weight has stayed at 95.6 since Tuesday :dunno:)
Leckert, Don't forget that women (on Implanon or not) still have severe body weight fluctuations as our cycles happen (or try to happen)... My Dr even tells me there is one week a month where I shouldn't bother weighing myself.
Don't sweat it! It's one week of the rest of your life!
Don't know if it's the humidity or AF - or both - but my weight was creeping up by about .5 kg a day, for about a week now. Just this morning I am down 1.2kg, so some of this fluid is shifting, thank gawd. Will see how things go next week.... I don't even feel like counting this as a loss, the way I have been the last few days. I will know better in another week.
Congrats to all those with big losses! WOOT
All of us deserve a congrats! Even a shift in attitude is as good as a weight change! Keep it up girls!
Good morning - yesterday didn't happen, but I weighed today, just under 108. I think no change really this weeek.
I found it interesting the comments about fluid retention in this hot and humid weather. I weighed myself a few times this week, using the wii fit, and it skyrocketed! I had AF as well, which probably added to it, but very interesting to see how much it varies.
The Monday weigh on will be my indicator of a downward trend.
I have done my exersise this morning (30 minutes uninterupted) and today we will ride the bike (kids in the trailer) to the library. Not very far, but every little bit counts! The cooler weather is most welcome!
You are all doing marvellous.
bye for now
looking forward to seeing the weight starting to drop a bit for me - new school has lots of steps and I'm teaching upstairs and staffroom & photocopier is downstairs so that's going to be helpful. - should go now as DS is trying to play with the laptop :)
WOW ladies huge congrats on the weight losses.
I have been so busy with work i havnt been on all week This will be a short post as I finished work at 9pm last night (monday) and started again at 3am today tuesday monring) and just finished work at 330pm. I weighed in yesterday at .....143.5 so a loss of 1,5kg:clap: this week and a total of 3.5kg :clap: since I started this post 2 weeks ago.
Good night all and good luck for the coming week,
Tracy
Woohoo welldone everybody
Fleur good job, i am struggling too.
Adding to the humidity / fluid retention thing... I weighed this morning and was down to 103.5.... That's down 900g from Monday.
I'll weigh again tomorrow to see if it sticks.... Fingers crossed! My weight has fluctuated between 103.5-105 this past week so something's up!,,
