Okay - I'm here, and I'm going to be honest...
I've fallen off the wagon big time! I could blame it on hurting my knee, then hurting my foot - but honestly I've just lost my motivation. I've barely exercised in the past two weeks, and I've eaten really shockingly :shakehead:.
So, I'm trying to work through what my motivation and reasons for losing weight are in the hopes that I will find new motivation before I pile too much more weight on (I haven't checked the scales, and I really don't want to!)
Apart from just not wanting to be fat - my main reason for wanting to lose weight is wanting to be thinner before I fall pregnant again. I was about what I am now when I fell pregnant with DS. I had DS and got back to pre-pg weight fairly quickly, but then I piled the weight on with poor eating and not exercising. It's so much harder to find time to exercise with a little one, so I'm guessing it will be even more difficult again with a second bub - so I want to be much thinner/have less I need to lose before I fall pregnant again. Plus, it would be nice when I'm pregnant next for people to actually realise I'm pregnant and not just think the big tummy is part of my 'fuller figure' frame.
I also need to be fit and healthy for my family. To have the energy to keep up with and play with DS, and to be able to bounce back quickly after having another bub.
I think where I've lost my motivation somewhat is that I feel like the second bub is still well into the future... you know, when something seems so far away it doesn't seem tangible, so the motivation fades? That's definitely happened here. So, tonight or sometime soon DH and I are going to talk and plan a bit more for having our second bub, since we've never actually had a proper conversation about it, just mentioned it in passing. If we can decide on a time, or a goal weight or something like that, I think I'll find my motivation again.
Also, junk food is EVIL! DH and I pigged out so bad last night, and I felt so sick all night and this morning. I seriously felt dizzy from having too much sugar! And I've decided it makes us both grumpy too - which of course makes us want more junk! It's a vicious cycle!
So, that's my thinking... I really want/need to get back into it.

Hi Sterla - you sound exactly like me! I have just turned 37 so will be going for number two at the end of this year, beginning of next year - call me crazy. Anyway, I have had NO motivation lately, excuse after excuse after excuse. I used to be quite fit etc., the Wii Fit told me my ideal BMI would have me 6 kgs lighter than I am now and I've only got 3 kgs to go till pre pregnancy weight so that's a little scary! Like you, I want to be a little lighter before I fall pregnant again, BF'ing didn't work out for me as long as I'd hoped so I didn't get to use that one for weight loss - here's hoping next time I can though but still, I need to be prepared. And having an unexpected c-section had me sitting on my bum longer than I would have liked. Ho hum......let's motivate each other, I'm thinking that I'd like to look a little thinner for my next visit into the office in mid/end July so I will use that as a mini goal. I wanted to for my birthday but kinda missed that one, although I've lost 3 or so kgs so better than nothing I guess!
Chin up, we'll get there. xx

Damm that purple reply button I jsut wrote a long post and pressed that instead of the one below the msg box and it deleted my msg!!! GRRRR
Well I found the answer to why my tummy was so bloated yesterday and pants tight. I got hit with gastro big time last night and have not been this sick in a very long time. I actually got on the scales this arvo and have lost 3KG!!!!! Im not surprised though as I seriously think 3Kg has been taken out of me today. Im sure it will be replaced as I gain my apetite back.
Kim- you poor thing
For all those that are scared to weigh in...I used to have those times at WW. The thing to do is to face the scales. You mightnot have done as much damage as you think and it is easier to fix now than if you keep avoiding them
Will post more tomorrow as I am exhausted and angry that the computer ate my post. :(

Sorry everyone i too have fallen off the wagon, too scared to weight myself to be honest and i have NO IDEA WHY... maybe it's because AF is back, because i have been sitting around with a sick girl and because i'm not exercising... REAL:LY REALLY need to get back into it
-
Yeah I'm off the wagon as well.. bahahahaha... I think I tripped and fell into the mud while I was there cos its taking me longer than I want to get back on the bloody thing.
But I will get there... just gotta finish the chocolate in the fridge first.. BAHAHA

Hi Girls!
Krysalyss - Hope your move went smoothly.
Sterla - If you want some motivation, just have a look at your weight and measurements from week 1 and see how far you've come. I looked at mine the other day and it surprised me!
My main motivation is also to lose the weight before TTC. But it's baby 3 not baby 2 in our house. I managed to lose 4kg after DS1 then got a BFP. This time I want to lose the weight well before TTC so that I get to enjoy my new body before being pg again. So even though TTC is a fair way off in the future, I'm motivated to lose the weight now. Maybe set yourself some mini goals or milestones (with some rewards) to hit before you get to your longer term goal? Break it up in to smaller goals so it doesn't seem so daunting.
BellaB - Your tummy bug sounds nasty! Hope you feel better soon.
Kim - That migraine sounds awful, you poor thing! What a big week! Good luck with your move next week.
Pam - That's still great, 700g! Don't be too hard on yourself. Is your bub still wetting and pooing nappies at the same rate and putting on weight? If so, then your supply isn't being affected and the fussiness is probably a development phase. Just make sure you're drinking lots of fluids and getting enough calcium and protein.
Alison - Don't worry hun, you'll get there. You've kept going even though Amelia's been sick and haven't put on all the weight you lost, so that's something to be proud of. Maybe you need some contingency plans? When you can't get out for a walk, go to Plan B and do Wii Fit. My main exercise at the moment seems to be shopping :) I need to start doing it in the mornings, so that when my day turns to poo I will have already done my exercise for the day and won't be stressing about trying to fit it in.
Zarava - I hate hopping on the scales too when I think it's going to be bad news. BellaB's advice about facing the scales is spot on. Better to just get it over with 'cause it might not be as bad as you think and the sooner you do it the sooner you can get back on track :)
Arimeh - Hey Mel, that wasn't a 'mud' cake you fell in to was it? Come on girl, *holds hand out* need help out of that mud?
AFM - Come on girls, I need you! I can't do this by myself. Went through a loss of motivation too the last few weeks, but I'm been doing things like looking at my starting weigh in measurements and my clothes. I've lost 2 dress sizes! It was partly because my main goal was to get down to a healthy waist measurement and BMI and I did that quickly. So I had to set some new goals. The other day DH told me we're going to a wedding in Cairns in late September, so there's another mini goal right there!

Hi Suz! The move went fine but it will be back and forth for a few months yet which will get really annoying. My eating is ok some days and not so good some. I find it hard to ear right when I am travelling because junk food is everywhere and healthy food is nowhere to be seen. So I am going to have to get better at packing.
I have decided though that I want to eat like an adult and not like a child which is what I have been doing - lollies, chips, junk and more junk. So am off for a jog this afternoon and have been eating well today.
Hope everyone else which is struggling can find something to motivate them. I know it is really hard long term so just try to take it day by day.

Hi Everyone - we're all off the bandwagon, I can't seem to find mine lolololol. Been better this week though and have only had a little bit of choccie so far.
Hi Krysalyss - I forgot to submit my results, will do that now, sorry!
-
No worries. They were the same for the stats anyway :)
-
hi girls,
sorry i have been MIA. i started / got busy at back at work and forgot all about this thread and then it stopped showing up in my subscribed threads bit (cause i didnt keep up and didnt see the new thread) and then all of a sudden one day i was like.. hey where did that group go? LOL
i have kinda fallen off the wagon also. i have still been going to the gym (not as frequently though) but been eating like a pig. i have still lost a bit of weight but am scared every time i weight myself because it is gonna catch up to me soon i am sure!
i am really going to start up again with the eating healthy thing!
-
Hi everyone,
Geez we're all falling of wagons everywhere aren't we!
I wouldn't say I'm back on the wagon yet exactly, but I also feel like the worst of it might be over. My injuries are gone and I'm starting to go to the gym more often. I just need to get the eating under control. I think I'm going to go back to what I did all those months ago when I first started out trying to lose weight... I eat well throughout the day, and then allow myself something nice of an evening. I seem to be able to eat better if I know I have something a bit naughty waiting for me, lol.
I haven't weighed in or measured for a few weeks now, but I will this week - what it says in my sig is a lie :shakehead:, but I'm not sure quite how much of a lie yet!
Anyone want to attempt to get back on the wagon with me? :)

ME Sterla ME lol! I ordered a workout DVD they advertised on the Channel 7 morning show today....some trainer to Madonna and Gwenyth Paltrow - Tracy someone......I got it on Ebay for $20 (including postage) - she does a combo of pilates, aerobic and dance moves so will give it a shot! I hope it doesn't gather dust like the Wii Fit is at the mo!!!!! I did have someone ask if I've lost weight today as I finally bought some non maternity jeans the other day.......I have to say though, I bought 2 pairs from 2 different shops and 2 different sizes, what is it with that! I hate clothes shopping. Grrrr

OKAY GIRLS!!!! 2 MORE WEEKS!!!! Let's finish off in style!!
Let's lose weight for our children, or for future children! Let's lose weight for Summer! Let's lose weight for the opportunity of having a new wardrobe! But most importantly, Lets lose eight for ourselves!
Sterla- Good on you for getting back on those scales, dont worry aout what they say, I lost a heap of weight last year and then had to change my ticker (and not the way I wanted to change it) but now it is looking better than ever and that was because I got back on the scales and was honest with myself. You can do it! :cheer:
Alison- Hold onto that compliment and keep it in your mind. There will be more coming and soon you will be complimenting yourself. Good work on the dvds!
Hollo- That is great about still going to the gym, go shopping and buy lots of healthy yummy snacks. Be prepared and allow yourself a treat like Sterla said. Milky ways are great for that if you like chocolate!
Krys- It is understandable that it is hard to cook healthy when you have so much on and house is shambles from moving. Awesome on going for a jog. How did the rest of your week go?
Suz- you are doing so well! Awesome post and great that you have another goal. I am finding that is such an important key. When you achieve one goal set another.
Mel- are you and Stela gyming it together still? Maybe organise some healthy things together as I know you are friends IRL as well.
Kim- How are you going?
AFM- good week, awesome weigh in (gastro definitely helped) but also some healthy choices. See my blog for more info. I lost 2.5kg! YAY! Almost 20Kg lost (since I was at my heaviest).
-
Hi girls I'm really sorry to see a lot of you have lost motivation seeing as you were going so well...I am really ashamed to say I joined you all and it was only my second week!!!!
so much for thinking I was going to get stuck into this and not fail!!!
I have'nt weighed myself but am pretty sure i have put back everyting I have lost..so embrassing..I won't be weighing in this week..I don't want to make myslef feel more down..it kind of gives an excuse to go and be more stupid :( and finish the block of choccie, bag of lollies, pack of biscuits....damn Dh and our silly arguments, that don't seem so silly at the time, and super tired all the time, if its not baby DD waking for a feed its 21month old DD, (having bad dreams??)never ending lack of sleep ends up getting me down and food is my bestest friend, well at least for a day or two.
so tomorrow, I am splitting wood teh kiddies are home on scholl lholidays so I can't go walking etc. So a rewarding job it is at least I keep the family warm..good luck girls hope it is abetter week for you all.

Hi Girls!
Pizza mid-week, then a night out with the girls last night, coupled with not enough exercise, has meant that I've seen the scales creep up and up this week. Let's just say that it's not looking good and I'm not going to be proud of tomorrow morning's weigh in. I'm pretty sure that this will be the first time I've gained weight since we started the challenge. I'm going to use it as motivation to finish strong!
Pam - Lack of sleep is a killer isn't it? I'm seriously craving the sweet stuff because I have no energy :(
BellaB - Awesome result! Congratulations! Glad you're feeling better and thanks for the pep up post.
Alison - Let us know how the new DVD goes. I'm also having fun with clothing sizes. What is with that?
Sterla - Me too! Let's get back on the wagon! Sounds like you're feeling better and doing better again.
Krys - How's the grown-up food going? I pack healthy snacks for me and the kids when we're on the road for the same reasons, you just can't rely on there being anything healthy available when you need it.
Hollo - Great to see you found your way back to this thread!
-
Am going to get on the scales tomorrow morning... am a bit nervous, but it needs to be done. I am definitely feeling my motivation creeping back :).
-
So I got on the scales this morning, and while I have put on weight (about 3kg), it's still way better than where I was 3 months ago when I started. I think I put on about a kilo a week while I was 'off the wagon', and it's really no wonder with all the crap I was eating!
I'm feeling much better about losing weight again now. I think I don't feel as much in a rush to lose weight as I was, so the pressure's off somewhat - it's all about lifestyle changes: slow and steady :).
Have had a good day eating-wise - my best in 3 weeks probably! And I'm off to the gym tonight with Mel. So all in all, I feel much better - back on the wagon!
