This rain is killing me. Was supposed to be a beautiful weekend. I even got my workout gear ready to put on as soon as I woke up, planning on hitting the road as soon as DD woke. But alas, the rain and a thunder lightning storm came this morning. Lets hope it clears later on.
-
Well I must say, I'm proud of myself and feel so great emotionally and mentally. A break in the rain so I hit the road (I'm doing couch to 10k) started at week 2. Thought I was going to die at one point. I live in a pretty hilly area and the run interval kept hitting me going up hills... bit tougher pushing 25kg of pram and child hahaa. Got swooped by magpies, I decided to stop at 40mins because my asthma was starting to get bit much. Felt so good to make my fat cry though :p How are you lovely ladies going? What is your favourite music to walk/run to? I just got the latest David Guetta album - love it.
-
Well done Hunter mum! Taking on the maggies is always an extra challenge! I personally don't listen to anything, I like to hear what's going on around me (and I don't own an ipod )
-
Congrats Hunter Mum!!! And good on you for trying the 10K version! I don't feel up to that just yet. I'll see how I go with the 5K version first :)
AFM - I completed my third run today....so that's the end of week 1 for me. I wasn't feeling completely dead after my 20 mins so did an extra 1 min run at the end to take my running total to 9 mins (at which point I felt like I would die). I thought this would be good mentally for me as week 2 involved 9 minutes of running (at slightly longer stretches) rather than the 8 minutes in week 1....

25kg! up hill!! wow thats impressive.
My favourite music to walk to in Pitbull, lovin him at the mo, or lmao is good to get the pace up
Looking forward to my walk/ run tonight

Ausgirl I was wondering if you ended up running inside and on the mini-tramp the other day when it was raining?
welldone Huntermum... I think I will do the c210k once I have 5k's down pat :D
welldone Chody, that means you have completed week 1
Well I let the rain and a sore hamstring put me off for a few days but did it again today. This time was harder but I think it's cause I downloaded podrunner (so it was free yay!! ) and the beat of the music meant I moved quicker :D made sure I stretched today and will be doing it again on Tues.
How is everyone else going?

Kelebek - no I wussed out and just did it the next day.
I am having an issue - warning this is going to be tmi but I've got to ask if anyone's got ideas for what's going on......this happened both Friday and today - got almost all the way through, and right at the end I got an excruitating pain in my tummy, right above my pubic hair line - mainly towards the right hand side with an incredible need to poo. I did poo both times (I warned you), but the pain stayed for about 10-15 mins both times - it radiated through my right side and into my lower right hand back - sort of kidney area I guess. It made me feel so sick, vomity - nearly blackiing out, stars before my eyes, hearing went all ringy, legs all wobbly - had to lie down or I would fall down or pass out. After lying down for about 10mins, the pain went away both times. I still have a tender feeling in my lower right side now - it could possibly be O pain as I have eggwhite cm today, but didn't on Friday when I had it.
I don't know - if this happens again, I am just not going to be able to keep doing it - my breathing is fine - I am out of breath when I run and stop running, but it all slows back to normal pretty quickly once I start the walk part - actually up until run 7, today I was feeling pretty good.
Any ideas?
-
Ausgirl - I too have felt a bit of an urge to go to the toilet so I just looked it up and yep, exercise can make you need to go to the toilet.......it apparently has something to do with speeding up your metabolism.... I'm not sire about the pains though...you say it goes away after going....maybe it's got something to do with that???

Hi ladies can I join? I have been attempting (and have successfully done) to get back into jogging since my gp gave me a kick up the bum to get my bp down and to relieve some stress.
I have a treadmill and have been working on getting to be able to jog for 5klm straight. So far can jog for 1.5 klm in one stretch, plus I walk as well in there. I can't wait to get fitter, it's been a long couple of months to get here but already I'm loving how much energy I have!

Completed my second run for week 1 - it was really good and even though I stopped because my legs were tired my body wanted to keep going! I wasn't puffed either!! Looking forward to Wednesday!!
Ausgirl - did you get to look into what is happening to you? I used to run a bit and the same kinda thing would happen but without the pain your describing - sounds like it's definitely worth looking into.
-
Ausgirl :dunno: sorry I have no idea, maybe post a thread and some of the fitness fanatics bb'ers may have more of an idea.
Well done *twinkle* I think 1.5km is great.
Ash I found my 2nd session the hardest so far. I think it's a good sign you wanted to keep running and when you get fitter and stronger no doubt you will :D
AFM is it bad that I did another session today so I could eat a sausage roll? Do I really need to have a rest day? I am considering trying to do it every day or most days anyway.

Kelebek - I feel the same today, I really wanna go again but I think our muscles need a day to repair in between. But it doesn't really make sense though because they say it's ok to do weights training on your off days - so it's not really a break for your muscles, just from running lol. I might talk to someone about it at the gym and see ;) good luck if you decide to go again - I might end up joining you!!

I have finally started my first day lol. I went to the gym yesterday so done it on the treadmill. It felt really good, I think I will struggle more when I do it on the roads though lol. Ended up going 3.3k's, so I am going to have to google map & route around my house so I'm not running a million tiny laps around the hockey field close by lol. I am so very sore today, my legs & bum are killing me hahaha! Think I'll do a light session on the cross-trainer & some yoga on the wii to loosen up this afternoon when DP is on break so he can watch DS.
And good on you girls doing it two days in a row, my legs would protest so badly if I attempted that lol
-
Wish me luck - starting week 2 today - there are no weird tummy pains today!
-
Wooohoooo! No tummy pains - did have a big drink of water prior today and stopped at a fountain part way through too - so don't know if that's it? Anyway, I survived day 1 of week 2 - hurt a bit towards the end but I made it!!!!
Keep going girls, we can all do it!
-
:leap: yay ausgirl, I am a bit scared of week 2 - might just do another few days of week 1 I think. Didn't run today, have to take dog to vets and go to dentist... hoping to fit on a session there somewhere.

Well done ladies! Good to hear all the positive stories. I went again on Monday and improved my previous run. Should have gone this afternoon but 30 hrs work in 3 days has worn me out. Have tomorrow off so will go in the morning.
Doubletrouble - what's causing you to fall? It is so hard to make time for ourselves, but I've realised of late we just need to (easier said than done!!). Hope that we can help you x
Anyone watching their diet? I've got the my fitness pal ap. Loving it.
