Watching what I eat, except I had a bowl of rice for lunch today. Walking home from work when I can.
-
On holidays posting on my phone sucks! Been ok til today and had blue cheese and chocolate plus a berry cider! I am going for a 5 km walk again tomorrow pushing 45 kgs of kid though! Am determined to keep plugging away!
On a side note coming down here has made DH and I about 98% sure we are going to move here!! Wooot! Very exciting times!
Bel- pt sounds great! I have Mon day yoga and am thinking I will join the YMCA where kids swim as it makes swimming 20% cheaper and is only around 34 a f/n for all facilities.
-
tanstar: we all have our moments of weakness. keep up the good work with the walking though.
AFM: well i had a wrap with lettuce, ham, cheese this morn... still being good and even said NO to choc from DH yesterday !!!! WOW i even amaze myself...
wish i could do some exercise though !! :wall::wall:
-
Oh gosh - bad, bad, bad :shakehead: Put on my work jeans, they no longer FIT!!!!
-
Astrid - oh no! Have you got something else to wear? You can do it, don't worry about yesterday, just dig in & focus on what you're gonna do/eat today.
AFM, weigh-in after 1 week... and 1kg lost. I'm stoked.
How is everyone else going?

I'm gonna weigh in at home tomorrow Bel, going ok but being away has meant eating out lots, alcohol and chocolate. Have exercised every day though so am hoping for even a 500g loss. An going to get back to tracking tomorrow as haven't bothered down here! Oh no Astrid that sucks hun, mine are tight right now too- definite motivation.
Will check out your steps page LBF!
Hi to all and will be able to post properly soon! xox

Hey ladies.
After having my DD early I'm here to join in the weight loss and dieting.
I weighed 89kgs before delivery and now I'm hovering around 82kg mark. My first goal weight is 70kgs and I want to tone up also. My goal time frame is my birthday which is in June. So, after my c section hopefully its going to be realistic.
I just want to be healthier and happier for my girl. The challenge with this dieting and exercise routine is that my husband is home every night (he used to be fly in fly out worker) but now he works locally. And we are still travelling every day to hospital to see our daughter in the NICU. It's going to be hard, but I'm going to get there... (i hope) lol
*waves* so hi :) I'm going to read through the rest of the thread now to see where you're all at :)

Hello Ladies,
Well im determined. To look amazing. To feel amazing. To make it so my DH cant keep his hot little hands off me LOL
Im so sick of sitting on my forever widening @rse and complaining that im fat and that i need to loose weight.
Thing is anyone who knows me doesnt think im "fat" YOU ALL HAVENT SEEN ME NEKKID!!!! lol...
Im at 58kg my realistic goal weight is 53kg... thats what i was at before i had DD.. i just want to be happy and fit into my clothes.
Thing is i dont want to have to go to the gym, im hoping to achieve all this from everyday living (going for walks, going to the beach and running around with DD and WATCHING WHAT I EAT and just being aware of what i eat - im a boredom eater :( )
any ideas ladies? on ways to just change your lifestyle instead of going to the gym.. because that cuts into my personal time, i work part time with a FIFO hubby so when im not at work i want to spending time with my family (like everyone else i know)
anyway DD is reading for bed, will come back at a later stage to read through everyones posts :)

Welcome Stevie!!!! I think one of the most important things is to simply make time to exercise every day. That could take whatever form you like but you have to make time every day - I need to do that too, just walking, running or playing around with the kids but I have to allocate my 30-1hr each day or else I get lazy!! As for eating, I am a boredom and unconscious eater too so I find that tracking in My Fitness Pal on my phone and computer really helps with what I am putting in my mouth each day because I have to think about it before I put it in my mouth!!
I know what you mean about weight (although I have to say I would LOVE to be 58kgs!!!) because people look at me and go - don't worry about the 2 kgs you have put on - for me it's HUGE and now it started creeping up again I am determined to get it down!
Well ladies - after a week away (which was AMAZING!) got home and weighed in today and am 600 grams down!! SO freaking excited! We ate a lot of crap, but I exercised every day - riding bikes with kids, walking and went for a run as well a few times!! I love the beach!!!! Even that small amount is a great motivation - thought I might get on today and have a gain!!!
Have a great week ladies!! Will be around a bit more now although am cutting my BB and computer time right down!
ETA: Hows my ticker - lost 0.6000000000000000000001 hahaha! Not sure how to fix it!!
-
lysanddan: good to see another new mujm in here trying to get back to some sort of shape. good luck to you. i am finding it a bit hard to know what i should or how much i should be eating while brest feeding ??
any ideas ?
hope you have good luck in your weight loss journey.
AFM: well i did my measurements today and now i have a starting point for weight loss.
i am 90 kg and want to lose 4 kg in the next 7 weeks... or lose 2 cm off my waist... which by the way is almost as big as my bust .... and i am wearing size "G "bra !!!!!!!!!!!!
but it is the first step forward and now i need to keep moving forward....
one step at a time
-
JBM - Wow you are doing well - I ate heaps while b'fing but found my weight dropped to pre-pg weight within 2 weeks - just all the skin shifted and then 1 year after DS was born I gained an extra 5 kgs on top of that! Make sure you aren't cutting back too much as your bubby is still so little and you need the extra nutrients for b'feeding. Lots of water, fresh fruit and veggies hun!
Well AFM - DH is going on his diet that he goes on every few months to lose weight - I keep telling him that it's not a great idea as he cuts carbs completely - loses like 15 kgs and then yo-yos back up again a few months later but he won't listen. I wish he would and we could do a real lifestyle change together where we don't' cut anything completely but just eat really really well. Still need to get my hands on the CSIRO plan book. Might go to the library tomorrow and borrow it.
NO walk or exercise here today but I culled and cleaned and decluttered from 8-5 and didn't sit down once all down so I think it might be ok!! Also have only eaten around 800cals of my daily 1200 or so and all I can think about is the chocolate in my cupboard - I feel hungry and want something to eat but so determined to be good - damn you Christmas chocolate gifts!
Back tomorrow chickelts.
-
1.5kgs lost!!!!! Stood on the scales this morning and I've lost 1.5kgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
 Sopdet that is fabulous hun!!!!!! SO great when hard work pays off!!
-
tanstar: i must be eating enough as i have a HUGE milk supply. i am drinking heaps, i take a full bottle of water 750 ml to bed each night and try to finish it before morning. i also drink every time i am breast feeding.
darn that chocolate !!!!! good luck to you in avoiding it in the future ...
sopdet: yipee for the loss !!!!!
stevie: welcome . good luck on your journey
AFM: had another healthy breakfast. some low gi cereal. milk. yogurt. banana and mango... and prunes ... i am going to be VERY regular today !!!!
lol

I am back ladies, i haven't had a chance to check everyone out yet but i will catch-up when i can, just wanted to come in and post while i remember.
Sooo the hard facts - i have gained weight since my little challenge last year and am back to 97.5kg, i am 5'11" and although tall i still feel i don't look as great as i COULD, i am unfit and feel totally unhealthy and i hate it.
I feel like my mum and i hate that, i hate that there are times i really don't want to do things with friends or the girls because of how i look and it has to change.
My goal at the moment is get back into doing some exercise - at the moment it will be at home prob the exercise bike (who's electris don't work so i can't calculate anything) and by doing work around the house and in the yard - let's call it the farm girls workout
I am also going to get back into eating breakfast and drinking LOTS more water.
It's my 28th birthday next month and i want to loose 7.5kg by then... i KNOW i can do it.
My future goals will be to take DD2 walking on the mornings DD1 has kinder, i should also gain my walking partner back once she has a bub and i just want to get back to be the happy/healthy me.
I've also made a Dr's appt for next week to have a general check-up, weigh and measure etc as i feel quite tired and drained lately and have unexplained bruises... so hopefully we can get everything on track!
TIA ladies, looking forward to catching up with everyone and being here to help/support.
-
Argh not only do I have the OS trip to get ready for, one of my girlfriends is here in March for a yoga event and I need to drop some weight and get back into yoga before she gets here because I expect 3 days of yoga torture from her  I know she will make me go to her launch at the yoga festival and expect me to keep up! Plus yoga every morning and night. At least I'll be getting my positions corrected by her in preparation of the trip (she is coming with us and we will all be doing yoga morning and night with her - same as she made us do in Bali)
-
zarava: welcome back. you sound a bit like me not obese but just feel fat and flat ?? or is that just me ?. good luck to you and remeber it's another day so dont look back on what you did yesterday but what you're doing right now !! ..WOW i should be a life coach... lol... he he he...
best of luck to you !!
AFM: well i have been having healthy breakfasts and lunches then .......... everything seems to go down hill !!!!!
like sausages in bread mon night
like pizza last night
??????????? why do i do this ???????????
so i am doing fish and sald tonight , already have fish prepared !!!
i am moving forward..... slowly
-
Just waiting for in-laws to leave. Then hooking in properly.
I popped a button on my jeans today :hiding:
-
Welcome back ZF - regular exercise is definitely the key. I really want to set a healthy example for my kids, so eating well and exercising each day is a part of that. I cannot wait til we move to the beach, where we will be bike riding, swimming and walking every day!!!
Sopdet - Yoga sounds fabulous!! I can't wait for mine to start up again in early Feb - I really miss it. I do Dru yoga - totally awesome for my anxiety.
JBM - Back on it tomorrow hun - I was good today too - until I ate a whole massive cherry ripe and did no exercise. SO frustrated but am getting back on it tomorrow and have got a 7 day pass happening at a local gym so will go and check that out and hopefully get this a$$ moving!
Astrid - I am too scared to put my jeans on - they were rather squeezy last week when I wore them while we were away:o
Talk soon ya'll!!
-
Thanks ladies.
JBM - i find dinner the hardest, fussy DD's and time make me go the usual meat & veg but I do make my own bolognaise from scratch with lots of hidden veg.
Tanstar - thanks hun, it's hard to exercise here as we're not in town so I have to try & make time for the bike & might adapt some cleaning to bemore 'exercise focused'
Astrid - my jeans are a little snug, I thought my button would pop last week... Right there with ya!
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
-
welcome ZF - you can do it hun.
Tan - go you good thing, you'll feel great!
Astrid - GL with the rellies going, surely that'll help.
Sopdet - you must be a yoga queen! I want to try bikram one of these days, but I'm too scared lol. Awesome loss too
JBM - how long till you can exercise? I'm so impressed you're watching what you eat already.
Stevie - I reckon there's heaps you can do. Worth a google for exercises to do at home... but i'm thinking pushups on the ground (kids love watching), squats holding bub (maybe not post feed), lunges across the room.... just some quick ideas.
Well I did a PT session on Tues. And OMG my abs are so sore. And my arms. And my legs. And my back. And my shoulders. hahahahha so many unused muscles. It's all good pain though. Am going to try for a run today... hmm mightn't be a long one. For some reason I can't get my mind into it this week. I did so well last week and this week I just want to eat chocolate. Dunno why. I might need a mindset re-set this weekend!
EDIT: just re-read my "goals" document & hid the chocolate. Just posting in here helped to motivate me.... flab roll begone!
-
belfie: i dont have a time frame for when i can exercise as i had a natural delivery not a CS. but i am still sore if i do too much and i am so so tired cause im not getting enough sleep that i seem to have no energy .. but i did get a little walk in yesterday. thanks. yeah for PT. i remember those. he he. good luck to you
zarava: yes dinner time is the hardest. i also do the spag bol with hidden veggies. lol. good luck to you
tanstar: have fun with your 7 day gym pass. sounds like fun.
astrid: oh the thought of fitting into jeans again ... one day... lol.... i still have a VERY flabby tummy so the jeans goal will be a while away .... good luck to you
AFM: well had healthy salad and fish ;last night. made extra salad and had some with tuna for lunch and still enough for tonight... yipee.... one more step in the right direction
chat soon
-
JBM : ooh, fish that is something we have vowed to do more off. Very slack in the fish department
belfie: PT, brave woman :D
Sopdet: been many years since I tried yoga. Have a friend who teaches it, but she went off to an Ashram before I got a chance to get to one of her lessons.
Zavara F: yes, dinner and children and add to that hubby , can make it hard to eat well.
tanstar: Beach walks - used to do those when we lived in town. Must get back into it, as we have a localish beach that has a killer set of stairs to get to it.
Ok, getting a plan together. Once in-laws have gone, I am going to get cooking. Have a couple of homegrown chooks in the freezer that need to be used. So some chicken stock and chicken soup is to be made. The veggie patch is starting to produce heaps of zucchinis, spinach, cucumbers and tomatoes are just beginning to ripen. Will be basing as much as I can around those veg. Need some serious meal planning with me being back at work and working 4 days instead of 3. Found a good butcher, so can get some good well priced protein. He has some great bulk packs. He is also next to a fresh fish store. DH and I have vowed to have fish once a week, will be making a real effort to go there (even though he could go fishing).
Ummm, other plans. Cut back on bread, potato and pasta. Also look up some juices. I am so bloated, my bowels are just horrid and I keep on getting thrush. I need to eat better not just for my weight, but also for my overall wellbeing.
Decided to stop taking Zoloft. Been 6+ odd weeks now. Weight has gone up (could just be due to Christmas). I am a bit happier, but then my weight drags me down. TMI, it has destroyed my sex drive (sex is great exercise ;) )
Exercise - undecided there.
-
belfie - your being a good girl, keep up the great work hun, isn't it great having a thread like this to keep you motivated.
JBM - mmm sounds nice and healthy, i don't do seafood but i should really get into cooking fish for DP and the kids and maybe just doing chicken or something for me.
Astrid - your food plans sound good, DP and the girls got me veggie seeds for Mothers Day last year and we hadn't gotten around to planting them yet, i really need to work out when is best and get it going to save me some $$ and so i know exactly what i'm eating.
AFM - jumped on the scales this morning fully clothed and i'm down 600g but that doesn't mean much as it's only a couple of days, last night i did fried rice and satay chicken but i used all fresh veggies in my rice (baby corn, red capsicum, snow peas, brocollini, onion) and only used a little oil... i set aside some plain rice and plain veggies for lunch today and i halved the serve of satay i would normally have eaten at dinner.
Today i haven't eaten breakfast as i am not feeling 100% but i will be eating an apple at some stage this morning, my rice & veg for lunch then some rice cakes with banana this afternoon when the girls have their snack, tonight for tea not 100% sure as i am going to bingo with MIL and there are usually donuts involved... am i strong enough to say no?
Maybe i should cut up some carrot sticks and take some rice crackers and pack a big water bottle ????
Exercise wise today i am planning on throwing on a big thick jacket for the girls and I and headingh out into the paddock to weed around some of the trees, i will park the trailer & motorbike further away than normal and walk, wlak, walk as much as i can!
-
Belfie - I have said it before and will say it again - you is a machine! Such an awesome inspiration hun!!! Love it! PT sounds fun! I just can't justify the extra $$ right now although I think $31 for the gym a fortnight will be well justified in winter when I can't run at night!! Are you needing to drop weight again or maintain - I can't remember?
Astrid - Huge changes hun, the veggies sound amazing - i was a bit slack planting and am missing my hoards of zucchini I had last year - toms are about to go red though so lots of salads here coming up! Good luck stopping the zoloft hun, I hope you can find something to help you like counselling etc.
ZF - Rug up the girls? Do you live in Canada????? - oh that's right we are in Melbourne  SOunds like a great plan hun and a loss is a loss, even if it is a small amount!
AFM - Went to the gym and did my C25K - a bit silly really because I can do that outside and get the benefit of hills, but it is a bit gentler running on a tready sometimes! Only did 30 mins as I had to pick up the kids but I weighed in today and I am 1.2kgs down  Wooooo!!!!! All I have done is cut the crap, lower carbs, no crappy snacks and exercising! So far so good!!! Very excitimicated!
Off to a go's house - will bbl!
-
 right as i was about to head outside it started to drizzle, then the sun shone for a minute & now it's greay again, instead i vac'd my room & did the dishes.
Am tidying my room then i will rush around & vac the lounge & hallway (work up a sweat to some music) then see what the weather is doing and head outside, it would be nice to get some fresh air.
I am also going to write down a food diary, i got some little exercise books from safeway yesterday for 5c so might just right a few things down in them, maybe even set myself some goals, find some inspirational quotes and things... HARD CORE...
-
i filled out my food diary this morning. i am going to try harder to fill it out properly !!!!...... i promise
keep up the good work guys... :-)
-
I have my Fitness Pal on my phone, but have not begun to use it for tracking my food.
Started off well today, then slid badly. Oh, well just start again tomorrow, even though I do have a bottle of bubbly sitting in the fridge just waiting for when the in-laws leave ;)
-
hey ladies. Sorry I havnt been on here. Been in hospital since Tuesday and only just had my gallbladder taken out. (owch!)
Obviously weight loss will start again when I am recovered after surgeries. 2 surgeries in 6 weeks (c sec and gall bladder) my diet will be different, fats have to be limited . I'm determined to be a Yummy mummy. :)
Sorry about the selfish all about me post. I'll Jump on for persies very soon x

Hmmm good all day but naughty naughty @ bingo... Today is a new day!
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
-
Go ZA! I had a good day too - til I remember the Cadbury in the cupboard and then drank 3 vodka raspberries (Free though so at least they weren't tooooo bad ) because i hate sleeping on my own when DH isn't here and I fall straight to sleep after a few vodkas
Back on the exercise wagon today!
I LOVE MFP Astrid - phone and computer, and they both update each other - super easy to find foods too! THe diary sounds like a good idea ZF - I find it easier on the computer or phone than paper though!
Lysndan - Hope you recover quickly hun and remember it is still very early on hun so go easy on yourself.
C25K run for me once DH drags his butt out of bed and NO chocolate today.
-
Argh - DD2 has dumped her uneaten sandwich in front of me. Must resist, have already had lunch.
-
Astrid that was a HUGE downfall for me- just eating the kids crusts and whatever they didn't want and I would end up eating a whole sandwich extra equivalent. Stay strong!!
I made a yummo ratatouille the other day- healthy and it was huge and have been eating that when I feel like something, beauty of it is that we can have it hot or cold too, I had it with my omelette for brunch today. Was just starving when I got up from a nap so I had a muesli bar - not the best choice but oh well. Really need to get my butt out the door and run but am feeling so tired and lethargic today, just can't be fagged.
Hope you are all well oxoxxo Stay strong lovelies!Weekends are hard but we CAN do it!
-
Sipping as much green tea as I can. Have found in the past when I have lost weight, I was drinking more green tea. Just hard to eat something with it, biscuit and green tea is not a good mix. Think there is some study out there that says it helps if you drink 4+ cups a day.
-
I have to fess up. Gain of 0.6kg for me this week. Arrrgh :wall:. I knew I was having a bad week but meh.
Went to walk last night but my iphone was flat... so that was enough of an excuse for me. Sat on my beeeeehind and ate crackers instead!
So am attempting to re-focus (yeah while TT my DS... hmm that works a treat. NOT!). It's unrelated, but geez TT is a total PITA. Only had a bit of (stress-)chocolate today and am about to work it off on the bike. I DO want this! Our PT has just had to take off o/s unexpectedly, so she's writing us a home program. Am wondering if I need to set myself some kind of fitness goal to make myself work a little harder.... fun run or best time mebbe. :dunno:
Astrid - interesting about the green tea - I don't much like it I must admit. Maybe I should try it again! I got a bit superstitious about having my fish oil supplements at one stage, reckoned they seemed to help me... but that could be totally unrelated! I have it easy on the kids lunches. They eat wheat and I cannot... so their leftovers don't get eaten by me nor DH (as he can't eat dairy and I use butter in their sandwiches). They all go in the bin.
Tan - good on you for running!!
-
So wanting to lose weight but can't do anything strenuous for 4 to 6 more weeks darnitt. Just had my op yesterday. Ouch. I'm being referred to a dietician too.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
-
 Lysndan - go easy on yourself hun - I didn't go hardcore weightless until my kids were waaayyyyy older!! DS was 2 - just remember you are recovering from major surgery and your main focus is your little girl right now and everything else can wait. Hope you are feeling better soon xoxoxox
Bel- You know, you are absolutely an inspiration and you have done it before, you know the hard yards it takes so you won't have any problems babe. Even though I have only lost 5 kgs in the past knowing I have done and can do it is helping right now when I feel like giving up . Just getting back in habit, not kicking yourself for letting your hair down a bit and having some chocolate etc... As for the home program - I can't remember if you have an iPhone? I have an App called Boot Camp it's by the same people who do the C25K - I have only done a few workouts so far but seems pretty good for that extra workout. I usually do it after my run. It's got things like Quick Cardio, Abs, Quads etc.
Run was pretty pitiful as you know but I could have sat on my fat puff and done nothing but Al wanted to take the kids for a ride to the school so I ran there haha! Im on week 5 of C25K too now - eeeks getting closer and feeling really good as I don't always feel like I need my walk section!!! As for the fish oil - it does something hun - speeds up metabolism!? Al is on some hardcore losing weight thing with NO carbs and takes fish oil and vit supplements and he loses 10-15 kgs fast ( gaining it again is another issue  )
TT'ing - mmmmm go easy on yourself hun, it will happen when he is ready! I have no real advice because my freak children were ready and did it themselves and I can't take any credit for what I did to assist other than providing a potty and wiping their bots!
Astrid - Im not a big tea drinker either but have heard so much good stuff about green tea that I am thinking i might have to find one I like, do you think a mix like green tea and something else would have the same benefits????
Off to the miniature railway today - going to have a nice big brekky so we aren't tempted to stop for pies or something else equally healthy!! Also going to aim for 1 hour of exercise today - might do my C25K run as well as my Jillian DVD. Have a nice Sunday ya'll - thinking of Lucy today - can't believe it's been a year. :(
-
Talk about blow out cals on sushi  will teach me to log in MFP BEFORE I chow down. Off to 30 day shred it off.
