Lol! Believe me, I am still fat! I still have 30-odd kilos to go! I don't quite know what my trick is... a lot of exercise (lots of walks pushing both kids in the pram, going on our exercise bike most nights, the occasional workout DVD), and cutting out all junk food (except dark chocolate). I think the main thing is just not throwing it all in if you have a bad day. That has been my problem in the past - I'm now trying to just look at the long term goal. Oh, and the fact that my chubby 10 month old DD still feeds like a newborn probably helps!
I had mum's group this morning and got quite a few comments about my weight loss :D. Love it when people notice all your hard work!

Woots for all the losses this week :)
I've lost 1kg, should be more but I know I'm on pre-AF bloat at the moment. Pants that fitted me on the weekend are tight around the belly at the moment. Sometimes being a woman sucks.
Went to the gym after work, easing myself in, 10 mins on the bike & 10 mins on the treadmill. Got my first fitness assessment tomorrow to start working on my plan.

Just wanted to pop in and say I am reading and so inspired by you chicks! Ya'll rock!! So many losses!!
AFM - terribly unmotivated, have gained bak the weight I lost (not much admittedly anyway) but a bit more as well. (1.5kgs) SO frustrated but my motivation level is zero right now. I am really focused on eating well for the whole family but haven't been exercising enough which is the clincher for me to make any headway. I need to get my butt into serious gear but have a head cold right now so it feels like one thing after another right now.
Anyway just wanted to pop in and say hi and how proud I am of you all! :D

Congratulations on your losses ladies! Fantastic numbers!
Sorry I haven't been in for a while. I've been in a bit of a slump and just not felt like talking about it. I'm finally coming out the other side.
So last week, I had a 1.3kg gain. I was pretty devastated, but decided by the weekend to just get over it and have a crack again so that's what I've been doing.
i've trained hard everyday since. My body is aching all over. My loss yesterday morning was 300 grams and I was happy enough with just a loss (although I expected a much bigger one).
I did my measurements yesterday and I have no idea how, but I've lost 38cms in 4 weeks - 16cms from my waist apparently! I'm thinking I must have measured wrong because I've only lost 1kg in that time. I guess I'll see the next time I measure myself.
I hopped on the scales this morning, and I'm down 1kg from yesterday. Now I know that cannot be right, but I'm determined to make sure the 1kg loss stays off until next Wednesday.
I'm about to print myself of a big bunch of signs for near the cupboard and the fridge. I'm going to stick one over my computer screen to make myself drink more water and get up and do some exercise. It's now or never that I finally get back into the swing of things and start losing my big numbers again. I want to lose 8kgs over the next 8 weeks which is totally doable.
I will make sure I pop back in often over the next 8 weeks. I'm going to need all of the support and inspiration I can get.

So, I weighed myself this morning... I have now lost 9.2kg and I am well on my way to my goal of having lost 10kg in 2 months! I'm feeling good and have been getting quite a few comments, so all my hard work is obviously doing something!
I had my first proper bad food over the weekend - first time in a couple of months. First it was pizza that some friends shouted us for helping them move house. Then we had chicken burger and chips a few nights later. I've always been a bit worried that if I had one bad thing like that it might trip me up and I'd go back to my old ways, but so far so good - I'm still on track physically and mentally.
I've been going for lots of long walks - pushing my two kidlets around sure makes me work up a sweat! I'm still cycling most nights too.
I won't lie - I've had some weak moments, but overall I'm in a really good headspace :D.
-
Sterla - AMAZING results!! WOW! You should be very proud! You sound like you've got it all under control which is fantastic!!
Sorry I haven't been in for a while. Very busy with lots of things happening at the moment.
I FINALLY had my first decent weigh in for 2012. I dropped 2.1kgs last week. THANK GOODNESS!! I'd been stuck around the same 1-2kg mark since Christmas and it's just so nice to see it move finally. I've worked hard with my training and have been making better choices, but I still have alot of work to do when it comes to the food side of things.
Off to netball training tonight. It's super humid and it should rain pretty much as soon as we arrive.... the joys.
I hope you've all been going well.

Yah girls for the losses. I've not stood on the scales this week at all, picked them up off the floor last weekend to mop the floors and haven't put it back down, but I've gotten into fresh-out-of-the-dryer jeans without needing to suck in my gut to do them up (last week had to suck in my belly to do them up, 3 weeks ago I had to lie down to do them up, 6 weeks ago they wouldn't even go fully up to even attempt to put them on)
I posted this in another thread but I think it is relevant to us all, I know it was a total wake-up to me ....
Last night I got a great reminder of how men view our bodies completely differently to how we view our own. Sent my gorgeous man a photo of me in underwear (one of the shots I took last week so I can monitor my fitness/weightloss and how my body changes as I train for my holiday), while I can see all the lumps, bumps and where needs to be toned, he just raved about how gorgous, yummy and desirable I looked. I think I need to start looking at my body through his eyes.

Well, I have lost a kilo since last month....how I have no idea! I have been doing pretty abysmally with eating and pretty much only incidental exercise, not planning propper walks or anything. So, while it's a yay for me, considering no effort has gone into losing a kilo, I really do have to get back on the bandwagon....
-
Sorry been a bit slack with this thread.
Sterla - way to go with losing that much weight!
Naidalla - great loss for the week.
Sopdet - yeah on the jeans.
3LM - good loss, take that one despite how you achieved it.
Up and down here. Extremes really, I am either very good or very bad. I need to find that balance of weightloss and social. I know some people mean well by suggesting social walks over cafe's etc, but often a lot of the social stuff is not in my control. Try telling the CWA to hold their meeting as a walk ;) I know I can prep for short ones by eating before hand, it is the longer sessions that are harder to manage. (not sure if I am making sense, I have the kids in my ears at the moment).
Aiming to reach my goal pledge for the 1MKC. Of course I have stacks more to lose, but I need to reach that goal first, then set-up the next one.

3 lil monkeys: good job with loss
astrid : its so hard , why is it we can do good or bad but not average. lol... this is me too. keep trying
afm: well a little late but i finally reached my feb goal weight.... now i need to set some new goals ..... moving forward
-
JBM: Woo hoo on finally reaching your Feb goal
Must be in a pondering mode at the moment. Contemplating can we/I really get the support we need from in brief messages. I notice with the 1MKC, it all small status updates, so all you really get it a small amount of advice, which is often not what you need, as they don't know the background story. Here at least, we get to know what is going on with each other over time and there is at least the space to write more info. I suppose I can see the appeal of things like Jenny Craig where there is that one on one support. Part of me would really love that one on one. For the chance to say "hey this is my life right now, how do I improve my/my families eating and exercise" Mmmmm, maybe I am realising that I need some one on one for my life situation.
Losing again. No official weigh in this morning, due to being up half the night with sick child. So will do so tomorrow.

Great post Astrid. I think for me, I am not losing weight or being successful at being healthy because I'm not getting the support I need. Not from here, I mean within my life in general. I suffer with depression, and when I am struggling, well the last thing I am worrying about is eating well. While I am getting better with it, there are times when I just can't cope with the pressure I put onto myself with trying to be healthy in terms of eating exercise, as well as mentally healthy.
Unfortunately for me, it's not realistic to expect any more help in any way. With my children, financially, with my life, ect, itms. So I have to just keep trudging along. I too would love more 1:1 assistance, in anyway. Weight watchers or something would be great, but again just not realistic right now. So 1 step forwards, 2 back is going to have to do. I am getting better at celebrating myself and my achievements and recognising how difficult it is for me at times, which is a step forwards in itself.
Oh, and BTW, I hope you little one is better!

I do think sometimes the generic answers to many weight loss hurdles can do more harm than good, especially when you argue against them, as then it seem like you are not committed, making excuses etc. When I am in a good place, I can take on the generic answers or choose to leave them, but when I am truly struggling I find they can make me feel worse.
I suppose though, how does someone know that someone requires specific advice or if they are just making excuses?

Ok, down to 84.2kg as of this morning. 7.8 down and 2.2 to go till goal. Hoping I can do it. Weekend away coming up, which is always my undoing. So must stay in as much control as I can and take heaps of snacks with me. Going to be positive about it :D

 Astrid that is awesome! You must so proud of yourself!
How is everyone else going? I'm back and logging here to keep myself accountable. I need to lose 5 kgs, 7 to give myself a decent buffer if I blow out. So upset that even my bra is tight right now, and clothes, well won't go there. I've done it before and just need to up my exercise mojo and intensity. Looking into a local gym that runs at a school, plus an going to stick kids in the pram more often again. Easter will be interesting but will just eat small amounts and not totally deprive myself or it will make it worse. For now I just need to kick the head cold I've got so I can up my fitness and exercise!
That's all from me for now! Will be back tomorrow on the lappy when it's easier to type!

Astrid - Fantastic!!! Well done!! You are so close to your goal now!
Tanstar - Good on you for coming back! Can't wait to see how well you go. :)
Hi everyone! Sorry I've been a bit slack too. Very busy with life lately and I'm letting it get in the way of my journey sometimes, but I'm still going.
Weighed in yesterday and I've finally hit the 35kg loss milestone. Pretty happy to be here. Almost halfway now... cannot WAIT to get to that point!!
Tried on my wedding dress tonight - what a confidence and motivation booster! It's swimming on me which is both very awesome, and very sad because I LOVE my dress so much. I've put some pics on my blog.
So my aim for this week is to drink at least 3 litres of water EVERYDAY. I've been really naughty with my water intake and I know it's what's holding me back from dropping the big numbers. Time to suck it up!!
I'll pop back tomorrow. I've had an awesome weekend with both physical and mental changes in myself. So glad because it's been a LONG time coming!
