I had a lightbulb moment on the way home. Since I can't run/walk, I can still do upper body stuff. So when I got home I pumped up my fitball and did situps (both sitting and laying across the ball) 50 sitting & 20 laying across. Tomorrow I pull out some upper body workouts, as well as doing more situps & will start on pushups (off my knees). So at least I'm still doing exercise while the bottom half of me is out of action.
I'm involved in the corporate challenge at work, which starts tomorrow. Even with being on crutches I still managed 5,000 steps yesterday. The goal for the challenge is 10,000 minimum a day, for the next few weeks I'll be pushing being able to do that.
-
Waaahh - the universe seems to be working against me and my good intentions to exercise! I was on the exercise bike last night and it suddenly started making this awful squeaking noise... DH had a look, and a weld has split, so I can't use that till we get it fixed. Then I was going to go out for a jog this morning (it was cold and windy, but not raining, so I could have gone), but DD slept in till 8am which she never does - and she and I wake at the same time, so I didn't have time. Then I thought I could go for a walk with the kids this afternoon but it is so cold and threatening to rain that I just don't think it's going to happen.
I really hope this weather gets better soon - I really want to exercise, but there's not a lot working in my favour at the moment!
-
 Sterla - have you got any dvds you can do? It's threatening here and I'm in a feral shocking mood so am about to do my Jillian Michaels DVD. Her 30 day shred and ripped in 30 are both only around 25 mins long but you work really hard and best of all it doesn't take long. If you want something harder I am now on the Extreme shed and shred- they are a bit longer - if I am feeling up to it I do the full 60 mins otherwise just 30. Really good when you are stuck inside/at home.
Sopdet - Good on you hun, so determined!! If you google seated exercise there is a lot out there, including clips on youtube clips with work outs!!Seated boxing with weights is a good cardio work out that you can do on your fit ball. How long will you be on crutches for??
I am seriously feral today - NO patience with the kids so I think I am going to do a workout and get some of my antsyness out. I hate it when I yell at them, and JJ is pushing my buttons, but in bed right now so it's a good time to get off my butt and do something.
-
I have a zumba DVD that I've tried once, lol... I'm too embarrassed to do it if DH is around! The other I have is a work out in the time you have DVD... it has 4 x 10 minute work outs (cardio, upper body, lower body, balance). If the kids will let me, I might give that one a go! :) I need a work out I think. Hope you get your work out in Tan .
-
I get embarrassed too when DH is around because I feel like a right kn0b doing burpees and nearly dying from them
One little tip which Im sure won't be news to most of you but is something I haven't been doing is planning my next meal and snack while Im eating the current one. So for eg. I just had lunch and in my head went through the options I have for when I get hungry later in the day so I will make good choices. I know it sounds simple but I haven't really done that properly before. I have been just getting hungry and then raiding for the most convenient thing whereas for my snack later today I have some low fat yoghurt and fruit muesli to sprinkle on top as del las some almonds if I need them tonight! Derrrrr talk about brainiac!
-
Grr....DH is so not helping me right now. He is *trying* to get into the headspace to lose weight too, but is failing rather miserably and is taking me down too! He asked me to buy him chocolate and chips yesterday because it was Origin night, so it was a good 'reason' for him to have a junk day. I ended up having half the pack of chips and some chocolate too. Then today he asked me to go and buy him hot chips for lunch while I was out. I didn't but was so close to saying eff it, and just doing it. The weather is rainy, I am kids free and could really enjoy a junky day inside watching crappy tv without having the kids around wanting junky food too! And it just doesn't help me when I know DH's not into it. I know I shouldn't be relying on him, but right now I need his help. I'm not 100% committed yet, I have only just started and this is when I usually flake out and stop, around 2wks into things. I;m trying to remember all of the reasons why I need to do it, all of the feelings I felt while I was trying clothes on ans seeing myself in changeroom mirrors. But the only thing which might keep me hanging on is a wedding I am going to in 8wks time. I so don't want to be this fat chick any more. I don't want to cringe at the photos and the memories because I am fat, uncomfortable and unhappy with how I look...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGG. This sucks!
-
3lm - take a photo of yourself in your underwear, print it out and stick it on the fridge, the pantry, the containers of junk food. I have a photo album on my fb that I go back and look at to see how far I've come.
Tan - thanks for that - will google tonight when I'm at home, can view youtube on the tv so will be able to do exercise in front of the tv :) Will know tomorrow how long I'm out of action for, seing orthaepedic surgeon for check-up and more x-rays. I have to do the big suck up to him to find out what exercise I can do, explaining to him that I've got a volcano to climb in 5 months!
-
 3LM. It's so hard when the other half aren't supportive but I found for me I can't wait for him to do it, and he can't wait for me. He lost 12 kgs about a year back eating no carbs at all, he's put it all on (and then some) but he had to do it when he was ready and I wasn't going to go no carbs. Find the motivation in yourself if you can hun, you are doing it for you firstly, then for your kids and DH ITMS. I have a few photos I refer to as well plus seeing my reflection today at the shops was motivation enough. I also have my SIL coming out at the end of the year. She's a completely different body type to me and I will never be as skinny as she is (or tall for that matter!) but I always feel fat and horrible around her so I am determined that when then get here they will rave about how fabbo I look and I will be able to hang out in shorts and skirts without feeling self conscious around her like I normally do!
Sopdet - Good luck hun - hope you get good news xoxox
-
Thankyou both, ladies!
You have both given me some more motivation to keep going today. My resolve was SERIOUSLY waning. The weather is clearing a little so I will go for a gentle walk too to counter act last night's damage. It also doesn't help me having this bad back either. I would really love to start running again, but can barely walk without my back playing up. I would swim, but we have no pool here that is open in the cold weather.
I have taken photos of myself in my knickers recently, though I haven't been brave enough to put them on display. I worry I will forget they're there one day when I have mothers group here or something! They are great motivation though. Absolutely horrid!
I am really trying not to be dependent on him, and have all but begged him to be utterly supportive of me, but he seems to continually forget. I'm trying to find my intrinsic motivators, which is part of the problem. Those motivators I had a few weeks ago have become memories, they're no longer fresh in my mind and they're easy to forget. Having him eating healthy helps because then there isn't any junk in the house for me to have at all. Even if I know it's his, I will eat it. I have no will power not to right now. I am faking it til I make it there again though. I can do this. There is no reason I can't.
-
One more thing that is helping me Kel is tracking on MFP. Days like today I have only just over 400 cals left so even though I might blow out it makes me think about what I could change tomorrow. See I thought today was going ok, and am just having some yoghurt and muesli but it's Carmens deluxe fruit muesli so the cals are HUGE. I know its still good for me with seeds etc but the sugar from the fruit is obviously too much! Is delicious but I will have something else tomorrow for my mid arvo food craving!
I have pork brat sausages for dinner that DH bought - any ideas of what I can make next to them other than boring steamed veggies!?????
-
Now I have mummy guilt for wanting to go for a walk just as the kids have come home from day care! Though I feel a bit guilty leaving them with DH anytime when I want to exercise. I guess I just have to get over that right....doesn't help when he sighs and rolls his eyes and then says, 'OOOKKK.....'
-
Don't let him make you feel guilty hun, you aren't skiving off to drink ****tails and party on the bar with your friends(although that would be nice every now and then ;)) you are doing it for your health. I used to feel like that too but have gotten over it now and just go whenever I want to if he is home. Was planning on a walk tonight as Ive been cleaning all arvo and didn't do my dvd but just got a text that DH hasn't even left work yet  and it's an hour drive home ...**Sigh** today seriously sucks.
-
3LM: It's so hard when your DH isn't on board. My DH could do with losing 10-15kg, but he stopped trying a long time ago. Luckily he and I have different tastes in junk food - my big weakness is chocolate, his is soft drink (which I don't care for). If DH does have takeaway, he tends to eat it when I'm not around. He may not be losing weight, but he's supportive of me losing weight and does his best to help out by limiting temptation.
You've got to be do it for you. Maybe talk to your DH?
And definitely DON'T feel guilty about going for a walk! You are improving your health! I know the feeling though (need to take my own advice, lol).
-
Thanks guys!
Tan, I hope your afternoon improved and you got in some sort of exercise. I hate when DH calls and tells me he'll be late. It just messes up your plans and for me I get grumpy because then it means I have to do it all on my own AGAIN! Not that it's usually DH's fault, but I still get the grumps!
Sterla, TBH the guilt went quickly when I asked DH if it would be ok if I went for a walk and he did the eye roll etc and I just got really annoyed, because I knew he would do it, he does every time, and he knows that I'm trying to lose weight and get healthier. We talked about it a week or so ago, and agreed that in supporting each other, we would have to give up time to exercise. In that moment I remembered all of that, the guilt went and I guess I got angry and though eff it, and just left. Two of the kids were crying because they wanted to come with me too. It was probably lucky I was angry or I would have stayed for them. It is a matter of changing my habits nd getting used to it all. This is the hardest part of making such a big change, but I just have to get on with it. Pull my finger out and fake it til I make it. I am still dying for chocolate or ice-cream, but I don't need it. I had a cup of tea instead. I am going to go and do some folding to keep my hands busy and watch some TV!
-
MOTIVATION for today lovelies. Have a GREAT day - BBL.
-
-
So are folks doing a weigh-in day? Or is everyone just doing different things?
Well I had a rest day today (was toying with a light walk but then it was pelting down and I really don't think the kids would have tolerated it!).
WEigh-in for me tomorrow, so I have fingers crossed that what looks like a 1.2kg loss will hold up :crossfingers:.
I'm super hungry tonight. Gotta go find something healthy to eat.
-
I am hun roughly once a week. Not too keen to think about today and this weekend with the party but am going to try and get a run in tomorrow at some point after the party :o I've eaten weirdly all day, but have had some anxiety (must be the party but I don't feel stressed? Stupid insidious cr@p it is) Anyway good luck with your weigh in!! Today was hideous don't blame you for not walking!
-
WOOT  1.3kg loss for me this week! Second biggest loss in my entire weight loss journey. So stoked!
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Eat well & feel good. And if you're eaten poorly, put it behind you - today is another day!
EDIT: oh and I've been forgetting to say that my DH has lost 9kg too (he lost it while I was re-gaining hahah - we might EVEN actually lose weight at the same time. lol)
-
Hi everyone!
I've been really quiet of late after suffering a hamstring tendon injury and being unable to do any form of exercise for weeks now (that involved standing/walking/use of my legs). I haven't been watching what I've been eating at all and I'm very lucky that I haven't gained weight.
Anyway, I went to the 12wbt round 1 finale party in Melb and met a bunch of amazing people and when I got back decided to go and join round 2 (I was going to give it a miss due to the injury and just where I was with my mindset which was not a good place).
Anyway, I'm now signed up and SUPER motivated to begin to drop big numbers again. Hubby is also wanting to lose some weight and I know that if we are both semi motivated and semi dedicated, we'll push the other along.
Last night after dinner, with AF at her worst and after being out and partaking in all the naughty stuff the night before, I weighed myself for something to do and found I've hit the 40kgs lost mark. I was pretty excited by that and it now means that I have less to lose than I already have. FINALLY!
If I bust my backside this year, I can get the 38kgs off that will get my to goal. I'm in a really good place at the moment and ready to tackle it. I want to lose 20kgs by mid August (which means 60kgs in exactly 1 year lost) and then hopefully I can drop the other 18 by new years eve. It's certainly achievable if I put my mind to it, but I'll need to stay strong.
I'll be in here a lot more often now to chat and gain motivation from you all. I KNOW I'll need it. Thank you for helping me on my journey so far. Here's to 2012 being the year of the goal weight!
-
Go Belfie! Well done  I weigh in Sundays too. I often hop on during the week, but I don't count those lol.
Hope your little Miss' party is a great day Tan. I do that with my meals and snacks too. Although I do mine in the morning so I know how much I have to play with today. I'm also conscious of trying to get enough protein and fruit and vege serves so it helps with that too.
Kell, Cam is totally the same. And he could do with over 30kgs gone. He has improved recently, but I know how tough it can be  Hope Lil's party is a blast too.
Sopdet, that's a great idea!
Wow Niadalla you are amazing! I've just spent a bit of time reading your blog. What an inspiration!
AFM I'm down 1.7kgs! Can't quite believe it, but just goes to show what cutting out most of the crap and drinking water and exercising can do lol. I know it isn't supposed to be that much when BF but my milk hasn't suffered like it has in the past, so obviously it was just fluid and toxins going this week.
You girls motivated me enough to get back on the C25K plan as well, so the mornings I don't like the class at the gym I've been putting the kids in the double mountain buggy a GF lent me and off we go. I even gave myself friday off calorie counting as my aunty was here from Sydney and had a bit of a blowout. Might just have a day a week to allow myself to do that if it's all going OK each week.
Feeling reinvigorated for the week and with 2 lunch dates with GFs this week I'm determined to keep going.

Quick one from me as meant to be getting DD1 ready for kinder.
I have a little more motivation added as i have asked to be bridesmaid in my brothers wedding (for certain now) so i have until february to get fit, healthy & as not tall & frumpy as possible for then.
I hate photo's and obviously there will be plenty of those and my future SIL and her best friend (also a friend of mine) are both 5ft tall with the bride being literally TINY so i'm going to stick out like a sore thumb.
Time to loose those kilo's and be the sexy giant instead ;)
No walk today as the weather is crap and we have to unpack from our w/end away - going to do a quick shop for some fruit & veg - am thinking chicken with some rice for tea - really need some yummy healthy hearty winter recipes.
BBL to do some personals.
Got on the scales & still at 97.5 - so i'm happy there for now.
-
I have had a terrible blow out weekend with DD's birthday, preparing cakes and food and then eating it all! Ah well back to it today. I have throw out or given away all of the temptations so I can get back on the wagon.
-
Hey ladies!
3LM: Don't beat yourself up over a bit of party food. I was talking to Mel about the exact same thing this morning - it's a lifestyle change and about making new habits, so a bit of junk food on a special occasion isn't the end of the world - it's life. As long as it's not all the time, I don't think there is really any harm :). Giving away all the leftovers was a good call - I've been known to do the same thing, cause I know I'll eat it if it's there.
ZF: What great motivation! That will really help I bet!
Kim: Awesome loss!
Niadalla: You are truly an inspiration!!! You have come such a long way, you are looking fabulous! I hope you manage to do the exercise you want to do with your injury.
Belfie: (just added you on FB) Fantastic loss! And that is great your DH has lost weight too - my DH really needs to lose about 10kg - I'm hoping he will pull his finger out one of these days.
Tan and Sopdet: How are you going? Are you on FB? I was going to add everyone from in here, I think I've got everyone (the regulars at least) but you now.
AFM: I weighed myself this morning and came in at 79.9kg! Finally I'm under 80kg (just, but still!). I now have about 15kg to go till my goal weight range. I took a pic and added it to my weight loss album today - and I could really tell the difference this time - especially flicking between my heaviest weight photo and now, yikes! I just did not realise how big I was at the time.
For anyone interested, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...3&l=a62c859ae6
Anyway, I better be off. Two very grumpy kids today!
-
I'm still here. Injury has sidelined me a bit. Dancing at Div's birthday party on Friday night had me pretty much bed-bound for most of the weekend.
I'm doing the Corporate Global Challenge at work so am managing 6,000-8,000 steps a day. I am hoping to get the all-clear on Thursday to, at least, start walking home in the afternoons again.
-
Sterla you look AWESOME hun! Seeing the difference from the first photo to the last is amazing, you should be SO proud of yourself hun!!
Sop you naughty girl dancing with an injury - hope it is feeling a bit better by now, good luck today, hope you get the all clear!
3lM - I blew out over the weekend and Tuesday as well but in the words of Dora "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" ;) We'll just keep at it babe xoxo
ZA - yay for a wedding! I LOVE weddings, who doesn't and I love being bridesmaid, you get to dress up, glam up without the stress of being a bride!!!! Very exciting babe and very motivating too!!
Kim - Hooray for your loss! Do you run with the pram? Im finding it hard now - Izzy is 5 and 18kgs and JJ is nearly the same at 3.5 plus a 15kg pram is 45kgs! I walk with them in it ok if the tyres are nice and full!! I can only run by myself and am still at 3kms running before I drop! Still a good achievement but want to get to 5kms over the next few months - my gf is running the Melbourne Half marathon in September! Unreal, she can run about 7 km at the moment! I would be happy with 5!
Niadella - Amazing achievement hun!!! When are you going to be able to exercise again?? - hamstring sounds painful xoxox.
Belfie - Awesome loss hun! Congrats! Yay for Dh too - mine needs to lose again too but he has been terribly unmotivated and even Tuesday - we both came home from work and I was about to make steaks and veggies and he goes, I want noodles and we can get Indian for the kids and for you..... Post work is the worst because I am so tired and CBF cooking , tried not too eat too much rice but even so. I keep telling him that the kids will be headed to obesity too and we are heading to diabetes at the rate we are going (ok maybe slight exaggeration but still)
:hello: to all I've missed!!
AFM - been at work the last 3 days hence my hermit behaviour but Im baaackkk! I've had a bit of a crud week, then DD's party Saturday, dinner out with friends Monday and a few drinks etc. so am lucky that I have still had a loss of 200 grams! Not much but was totally expecting a gain. Am feeling a slight shift in my clothes too but photos are still awful, one of me at DD's party I had to crop me out- I looked like I was 5 mths pregnant and am totally going to lose this tummy and all over fat by my birthday.
Our new king sized bed is arriving today - hip hip hooray! Very excited and DD has had a tummy ache and weird poo (sorry TMI) the last week so am off to make some pumpkin soup and bake something to try and get some veggies into both of them. Have a great day all!! xoxo
-
Well I think I have found "it". That special something inside me to make me REALLY want to lose weight and do it. I almost have a full hold of it, but it's lingering just at my fingertips right now. Last night I was eating some left over musk lifesaver lollies I forgot I still had from DD's party. I ate one roll of them, not even thinking about what I was doing, went to get another, remembered I shouldn't have them and I threw them out! So I am getting there. Faking it til I make it really works for me.
I have gladly lost 2.6kg. Despite my huge weekend. It is only a 200g loss for the week, but the numbers are moving in the right direction, which is the main thing.
I am off for a walk now, and will try to come back later for personals!
-
3LM do you track hun?? I find that it really helps with that "subconscious" eating, whereas if I am tracking I think, ok I want some skittles, do I REALLY - I log in what would be a small handful for eg. see how many cals then I might find something else instead or if I have had a good day will treat myself but stick to the small amount? Does that make sense? I don't log on work days so that is my problem, but I am so friggin busy at work that adding one more thing to remember is a PITA! As it is I think I left our hall unlocked last night so have been having anxiety all night thinking it might have been broken into with the alarm off or a big fire or something. Drive myself SPARE.
-
Just a quickie. Just got the all-clear from the specialist, so am able to start walking home again (4km) as long as I strap the ankle properly (off to google since I've not had to strap in years), I am allowed to SLOWLY build up to running. The specalist rolled his eyes when I asked about high heels.
All I can say these last 2 weeks have been pure torture!!!!!
-
someone kick my butt pls! I know my second week is usually bad... but... my daycarer's hubby is in hossie (and daycare closed), and I'm PMT'ing, and I had to do a trial of triple-choc brownies (egg-free) for my GF's 40th this weekend (and of course they didn't work out - so I FIXED them ) and she begged me to make them for the party... so I said I'd make a double batch :wall:. And today I made spelt scones (newly onto spelt after 10 years GF) - it's pure delight but arrrgh scones can't be that good! But I could have tracked my cals today but CHOSE not too.... arrrgggh don't do this to yourself Belfie, you can have a reward for getting through the first two weeks if you just stick with the program. JUST GET BACK ON THE FRICKING WAGON AND DON'T WAIT FOR A GAIN ON SUN. I have the 40th on Sat. I'm still exercising well. I just need to be more accountable for my food.
Butt kicking butt kicking butt kicking PLEASE!
Sopdet - I'm sorry I just did such a me post, then read yours - you poor thing!!! Good luck getting back up & about!
-
Track baby track. Don't beat yourself up
just track and get back on track hun. one scone's not the end of the world, 4-5 might be pushing it! You know what you need to do chicky just refocus and get on that bike!
Not a bad day here but I didn't eat from 10-5 so I know that is terrible for my metabolism . back tomorrow- got our new king bed today! Woohoo!!!!
-
Sorry Belfie, no butt kicking from me, cos I'm the same. Probably a bloody good thing that exercising hard is right up my alley. though. Give yourself a break.
Yep Tan, I run with them in the pram. Nate's only just cracked 15kgs though and Holly's only little. It's a good core workout with the pram too. Gosh Izzy's petite! Darcy weighs about 27kgs (she's just turned 6). But at her height (130cm at 5.5) it's spread out and all muscle. She's SOOO strong!
WTG 3LM! I had one of those moments a couple of weeks ago when I decided I didn't need a snack every time I went to the supermarket.
Glad you've got the all clear Sopdet.
Wow Sterla the change in your face is huge as well! You look fantastic. I hope you feel amazing too.
-
I got up - I looked at the container of triple choc brownies sitting on the bench (STILL) - and I thought oh well, I'll have 'em if I can afford the calories. Thanks Tan!
Kim - thanks for the kind words too :) we can exercise hard together.
As for running in the pram, I'm the same as Tan. X is 18kg and A is 12kg + the pram. I walk them to kinder on a fri (usually) and it is 15 mins ALL up hill. I don't know how many cals it burns but I figure it's a lot.
-
I've been trying to work out how many cals it would be - all the calculators I find online are less than what my Runkeeper tracks me at for a walk so I figure if I add around 50 for a 30+ minute walk it might be roughly right. Do you guys add back in and eat your exercise cals? I don't but if I go a wee bit over, and I have done a good workout for the day I figure it should be okish?!!!
-
a brisk walk uphill should burn about 160cal plus a bit more fore the extra resistance I reckon.
Sometimes and sometimes not Tan. Yesterday I ate the extra but I also walk to/from school most days and I don't even count that bit. Depends how hungry I am and how Holly is feeding. But I get 2000 cals so usually I try to stay under that anyway.
-
Oh cool hun, mine is 1280 so if I exercise it's up to 1500+ and I would only eat that or more on a total blowout day like Sunday so Im not really counting it. If I go 100 over on a good exercise day I don't think I should worry!
Am off to the zoo with the kids - trying to work out what to take for me to eat other than a sandwich!
-
I'm going to check out the gym up the road from work today (council gym, linked to the council gym/pool nearish to home). They have a pool, so will check out how much it is for just the pool component.
I'm starting anti-gravity yoga on Thursday, no more than 5 in the class (usually 4-5 people only), the instructor is fully aware of my recent injury.
I know I just can't throw myself back 100% into the exercise, but I'm looking at options that are going to be less stress on my body. With the walking home in the afternoons, I'll walk for as long as it feels comfortable, then will catch the tram the rest of the way home.
I seriously need to look at my food, will do a plan tonight and go shopping. Might even see what I can prepare earlier so I'm stressing about what to eat, which usually means I don't eat, or I snack on things. I don't have any junk food in the house, actually I think I have biscuits in an airtight container, but I think I've had maybe 4 of them in the last week.
-
The only thing stopping me from eating chocolate and junk food right now is my own laziness because I so don't want to go out in the cold rainy weather. Is that a good thing or bad thing??
I want to eat because its cold and rainy and we're inside watching DVD's and I am SO tired with two sick little boys who aren't sleeping at night, and DH is on night shift for another two nights. I'm bored and lonely and my house is a mess and even though I have the time to clean it I have no motivation.
Does it make a difference if I can identify why I want to eat and why I'm not eating, when if I could be bothered to get the food I WOULD eat it....???
-
I know the feeling 3LM - it's times like that that I am very glad I don't have junk food in the house, cause I know I'd eat it if it was there. Not having it there in the first place is definitely a good thing. Knowing your weaknesses is a good thing :). I hope your boys feel better soon and you can get through the next few days/nights without too much damage!
DH was very mean and made fudge... to take to work he said, but then he left quite a bit in the fridge at home. I was very restrained and only had two pieces. This is one of those times when it would be good if DH was making the effort to lose weight too, cause then he wouldn't be randomly making fudge and other yummy things.
I have also beaten my own personal record with how far I have ran - yesterday morning I ran 8.23km! I'm hoping to get a 9km run in soon, before the 10km race, which is quickly approaching - only 15 days to go! And then, to completely counter my run... DH and I went out for tea last night (minus the kids!) and stuffed ourselves! We never go out for tea, so it was a special treat and I wasn't about to let the ridiculous amount of calories that were probably in all the food stop me! Felt pretty gross afterwards, but omg the food was good!
The weather here isn't great today, so I'll be jumping on the bike tonight after the kids are in bed, and will hopefully get a run in tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone else is having a good (and healthy) weekend :).
-
Sterla, you're good not eating that fudge! How inconsiderate of your DH for making it!! As for going out and eating alot, you have to sometimes. If this weight loss stuff is to be long term, we all need to fit it into the fun times too, and one day of eating crazy amounts won't necessarily be a terrible thing! We still need to enjoy food. And yay for running!! You are going so well! I hope you're extremely proud of yourself. You have done it all on your own. Well done!!!
As for me, I just get so frustrated with myself when I *know* all of that and can identify it all, but still I do what I shouldn't really do, like eat junk, or just too much. I guess it's a baby step. I must say though, yesterday I didn't cave and didn't go to buy junk. I didn't make the honey pop corn I wanted last night when DH was on night shift either. I went to bed early instead. In saying that though, I went over my fat and calorie counts with other 'healthier' foods I ate. And I haven't exercised for a few days, due to the weather (it's pouring here) and both of my boys have been pretty sick and not sleeping so I am tired, unmotivated and just plain lazy. Excuses excuses. I should have done some wii-fit, of at least just some push ups and stretches or something. I will today. Bleugh, over myself and my issues!
Sopdet, I hope your injury held out for your walk. It's so frustrating not being able to do what you know you can when you have some part of you which isn't working right! Yoga sounds great! I have a bad back and really want to start running again, but can't because it hurts too much. I would love to start swimming, but the pool here is only open in summer. One down side to living in a small remote place!
Arrgh, kids are arguing. This rainy weather is doing all of our heads in.....
